  1. By the way I don't think that Axl had anything to do with the Top hat thing at the new shows. It's most likely the venue trying to avoid a problem if they think that it could upset Axl. This is another case of both sides are telling the truth. Vicky was there and saw it happen and Axl didn't give the order to have that done.

Also the thing about Vicky is the band would have still got signed with out her because Tom Zutaut already had the band on his list to see right before Vicky starting to work with the band. However the fact that Vicky was working with the band at the time Tom did see them, gave the band much more clout because of Vicky's track record with the Crue, Poison and stryper. She was the real deal. She also got 30 k in funding that she put into the band in just 3 months (Thats about 4 times more then I had helped with in 1 year) and when the band decided they wanted to work with someone that had more experience to take the signed band to a much bigger level, they dumped her and when the time came where the band had some money, they didn't offer to pay her back the money she had raised for the band. I was not happy about that. The only thing that could have went wrong is someone may have advised the band not to open a can of worms. Maybe if they would have just gave her 50k like Slash and Axl had talked about doing for her when they dumped her, I remember them saying that she will get it when they have it. Maybe the reason they didn't do it was, it may have opened the door for her asking for much more with the court system?

If they felt bad, they could've given her the money anonymously..

  2. So used to be fat, now has an H breast size (I'm triple D and it ain't big nor am I obese lol, however that matters). She works at the place and said he was there, all I know. That's why I'm asking you people

    Pics?

    ..or it didn't happen :xmasssanta:

  3. That would be way cool. I would totally read it. However, I'm not sure Axl would take the time to write a full auto-biography though. Didn't he mention somewhere that he was writing a book but it wasn't realty an auto-biography?

Hmm i googled it and found this article My Link

In addition, Bach implied Rose is working on an autobiography. “I was saying to Axl one day, ‘I’m going to write a book.’ He was like, ‘Cool. How many pages you got?’ I go, ‘I’ve got six pages.’ He starts laughing and goes, ‘Yeah, I started my book a while back. I’m up to 12,000 words at this point,’” Bach says. “He’s very prolific. He’s just not motivated by fame at all. He’s had enough of it. He gets excited by making music, by putting on a concert. Making albums, he loves doing it.”

Yes! That's where I read it. That article was published in 2008, which was 4 years ago... so I don't think Axl is working that hard in getting his auto-biography released :P ha

    ...or making albums.

  4. I think since they have added estranged and civil war as staples, it might be time to let go of some songs like Mr Brownstone, Rocket Queen, and Live and let Die. Personaly i think KOHD should go too, but I guess that one is there forever.

The hits will always stay, but no reason they cant juggle the old stuff around and the new stuff around.

  5. Maybe after Axl got wind that he could've been fired, he went on the warpath to systematically firing everyone...

Well, yeah, that's evident. Although, we need to remember that he didn't fire everyone, Slash Duff and Izzy left and he was quite upset about that. Mind you if my manager was trying to get me fired I would cut him loose too... <_<

No, my point is that if Niven had plans to fire Axl then he must have had post-Axl plans for the band as well, right? I mean, by 1990 Axl was an essential part of their image (since he is the frontman, an eccentric one at that) so if he had been fired, how would the band have moved on? Alan must have had some plans regarding this situation or he would not have pushed the issue as much.

Ah... now this has me all curious...

I wonder what singer they would've lined up? Would UYI continued?

Or would they have fired Axl, and retained him as a hired hand?

  6. Losing Steven was frustrating and painful. But we tried and tried to pull him through. The problem was, he just could not connect to the more intricate material Axl was writing for the Illusion albums. Time and again, Slash and the others would bemoan that he just couldn't get it, and that he would play the same section the same way twice instead of fixing it.

The bullshit that he was fired for his addiction is just that – bullshit. It was a performance matter.

Very important stuff here. Challenges our generally accepted view of the reasons behind it.

Why? Its nothing new, I thought it was common knowledge that it wasn't solely about the drugs but whether he could still function under the influence (which he could not) and general lack of skill. Even Slash mentions it in his book.

METAL SLUDGE: Oh, one thing I was wondering about: Was there ever a time when Guns N’ Roses almost broke up before all the success?

Yes, in Phoenix. There was a riot. I sat the band down and said, “Look, I made a commitment to this band, but if you decide on another singer, I’ll stand by you.” They thought about it, too.

Now this has always been interesting to me. There were apparently many instances where Axl was almost fired but they never went through with it and I wonder why. From the sound of things it seems like he was a major pain in the ass all around (controlling, temperamental, unprofessional, etc) so why did they decide against canning him every single time? Also if they had, would GnR have made it to the height that they did? That is the question I would ask Niven if I was interviewing him.

Its kinda obvious that Alan had no love for Axl from the gekko, he seemed to have more faith in the band itself since he states suggesting to fire Axl on more than one occasion. Perhaps he deemed Axl replaceable? That the music would have held its own regardless?

Maybe after Axl got wind that he could've been fired, he went on the warpath to systematically firing everyone...

  7. People give Axl shit about the oxygen tanks, but you they do the job, and when Axl has not had a 'break' for a while, you can tell.

I work as a call centre operator, and after a while of talking, your voice doesn't dessert you, but it changes strength and pitch. You either need a break, water, voice exercises, or something I do which is take some deep breaths to get the air in. Then before talking, suck a heap of air in, hold it and then talk.
