for you. my favorite version though. I even prefer it over the Howlin' Wolf classic.

edit: but how can it be "futile" when Slash's version seems to bring a lot of joy to so many people? silly take, no offense. I guess you were just trying to give praise to Jimi's version but I still disagree

The LZ versions from 69 and The Lemon Song rock, too

Hello Zoso, you Zep lovin’ bastard, hows the life n times?

Good, man! Got engaged, last year and have seen GNR a few more times since you’ve last been around

Also started a Zeppelin record collection which has been a huge money pit.

    how are you?

And Killing Floor is great and The General is shit.

The General (and Absurd) are like if you asked an AI to make GNR songs with the least commercial appeal.

I've probably listened to this track more than all of the "new" GNR singles combined.

The cover is a lot of fun.

Love the second instrumental section with the interplay between Tyler's harmonica and the rhythm section.

The outro is great, with Johnson's scream leading into Slash letting it rip.

Makes me long for the days when GNR's music included an element of fun.  Don't get me wrong, I love Chinese Democracy, but it's a bit of a heavy record.  It can be a challenge listening about monsters, child sexual assault, broken relationships, politics, grievances, etc.  Granted, a song titled Killing Floor isn't light in its subject matter, but there's a bit more tongue-in-cheek playfulness with this song.  Something I've long missed from Guns.

What, the school bell in Hard Skool wasn't fun enough for you?

These guys are local to where I live. I'm assuming you heard about what happened to them? Keyboard is a sicko

I really liked that Afrique Victime album. Together with the tour they also announced a new album and launched the first single. That one takes some getting used to for me. Mostly because it feels very busy sonically. Very much going on, fast, all at once. I hope the album isn't that intense as a whole.

    This is the new one:

I dig it. It is pretty heavy for him. I am sure it was influenced by the current events in Niger.

  6. Slash tickets acquired. Will get my Mdou Moctar tickets soon, too.

Last year was packed for shows, but it looks like this year will be a quieter gig year. I'm pretty pumped for Sting in a small theater, the Slash blues festival, and Mdou Moctar, though. Those are three high- impact shows for me.

My personal thought is that this will be much bigger than anything with Myles and company.. Hell I am a huge Slash fan and I don't even go to those anymore.. Plus there are some pretty decent names on the bill.

Yeah I stopped going to the SMKC shows, too. Not because they are bad, I just felt like I got my fix and was good with just GNR for a while. I really am pumped for this. I just bought Sting tickets which were a lot, but I guess what is a little more for this, too

  8. Just got tickets to see Sting in a small theater in Detroit. Surprised they were under 200 each after fees on StubHub.

Mdou Moctar and Slashs blues festival are on my radar too

  9. To me it is more symbolic that they are out there still, anyways. I don't care a whole lot how they sound. I'm happy Slade got another go around in 2015-2016. I bet he was, too. Anything left now just matters for Angus and Brian imo
