I saw this earlier. Threw up in my mouth a bit.

I loved the concept of a few smaller "warm-up" shows, it was really something special to be able to see them in such a small venue. Only thing better would be to of gotten into one of the secret acoustic shows. Maybe a couple of smaller gigs soon to warm up for that massive Rio crowd. Does anyone remember what Chris Jericho said about Axl in his book that came out earlier this year? I remember he had like a chapter about them partying in the city the night this interview was recorded but I thought he might of bashed Axl, maybe I'm mistaken.
Not at all, he said they partied into the wee hours at some club in NYC where Axl's VIP area was twice the size of Lindsay Lohan's. Then he said that Axl thanked him because he doesn't get to just hang out and talk music like a fan much anymore.
The only part that could be construed as "bashing" was him saying that Beta had to come in first and "check the vibes to see if they were good enough to Axl to enter the room". But I think most normal people would find that odd.

Celebrity Feuds 1/24/2010 9:16 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF.
Slash Gear Banned from Guns N' Roses Concert
Guns N' Roses fans were forced to take sides in the legendary war between Axl Rose and Slash -- after security at a recent GNR show banned fans from wearing Slash gear inside the show.
It all went down at the GNR show in Canada last Wednesday -- concert security informed fans that they were required to turn their Slash t-shirts inside out .... and leave their top hats outside.
TMZ spoke with a member of the concert security team who confirmed the marching orders -- and told us the instructions were passed down from a producer for the band.
We're told a few fans took the high road and went home ... but most just sucked it up and did what they were told.

TMZ either confirmed it or Madison has SERIOUS pull at TMZ. One sounds plausible, one sounds ridiculous. I won't say which is which.

Nobody ever said it was cool to beat up a woman. You are the only one bragging about how cool and respectful it is to be a good fighter.
But back on topic. I just read a post in this section where a poster used the C word about ten times. Not ONE of the people bashing Axl in this thread have said one bad thing about the other poster.
You people hold Axl to a different standard than u hold others to. I don't. He is no different than any of us....except he has advanced musical ability. He is just a human being. No better than any of us.
If another poster calling somebody a c*nt doesn't bother you, then Axl doing it shouldn't either.
I'm choosing to accept what you are saying at face value and believe that you are not intentionally missing the point.
If someone with a silly username hides behind a computer screen and uses the "c word" ten times, most rational adults will think that said person is a 13 year old sitting at home marveling at how clever they are because they just learned that word. Because as rational adults know, rational adults don't speak that way. So like with most children acting unruly, it's best to just shake your head and not give them the attention they're seeking.
But when someone known to be pushing 50 launches into a misogynistic tirade on someone on a fan site of theirs? It doesn't matter if I appreciate them as a musician, as a person that's just sad. That's where the disappointment sets in.

That is the approx attendance at the shows I was at. Sunny are you calling 48,500 people not credible? Forget me, why did you not here this from anyone else from any other venue?
There were plently of forum members at these shows. I can't make this shit up you see, regardless of what you think of me, it's pretty simple to see.
That's pretty spurious reasoning. For starters, most of the 48,500 you mention aren't on this forum. Those on the forum who went to one (or more) of the shows probably numbers...a couple dozen? Of those, how many either tried to wear a Slash shirt in the venue or asked security specifically about an anti-Slash policy? Now we're down to the low single digits.
FWIW, there are other stories out there. Whether it's turned into an urban legend or something, I don't know.
I'm not saying anything did or didn't happen, but your logic is really flawed.
-
Yep, my first time watching all of them.
Really not much of a film buff at all, as you can probably tell from that.
That's actually kinda awesome! That means you have ton of movies you can look forward yo watching. If you're into the mafia genre, i'd also strongly recommend Donnie Brasco.
Agree with you on Goodfellas but disagree on Donnie Brasco. Not a fan of that one. I'd replace that choice with Mean Streets or Once Upon a Time in America.

It could come down to money. If Richard's making more touring with Lizzy than Axl he may just keep going with Lizzy through the tour and see what's happening with Axl afterwards. If he makes more with Axl, he may parachute out on Lizzy.
-
You don't think he was using the terms lesbian and cunt in a pejorative sense? Do you think it was a valentine?
Really dude, you're trying way to hard to explain away misogynistic bullshit. Pick anyone else in the world other than Axl Rose and then envision that person saying that about your mother or sister. Does your tune change at all?
I'm not trying to get in a big argument and I'm definitely not trying to play "internet white knight", but at what point do you stop going "oh it's just Axl being Axl" and say "wow, this dude has some really fucked up attitudes towards women".
-
But the fact is that the forums ARe very influential.
You lost me here. Influential? How? To whom? We're all just a bunch of GNR geeks killing time.
-
Actually true on both counts. Why don't you know that? You know the best way to shut me up would be to post your IMDB page. You should do that.
I apologize to all and now we can get back to regular GNR conversation.

Hahaha. Axl8302 is such a silly little boy.
but it's quite entertaining that he's trying to defend this topic.
I think he should make a movie about it. Done completely with handshake deals of course. Real movie execs don't use silly things like contracts.
Maybe I will smart arse, right after I've finished up shooting "fat muntas exposed" with your mom. rock1
Nah, even muntas work on contracts. See junior, the key to a successful lie is knowing your subject matter. From big-budget stuff to the tiniest indie flicks to student art films all the way to your precious "fat muntas exposed", you can't even lug cable on a set without a signed agreement in place and waivers and whatnot. You would think an accomplished director/producer such as yourself would know that. It's a shame that kids today can't even take the time to create believable lies when making themselves look foolish on message boards. Now run along.

Slash looks cool as fuck there who cares if he met Beiber? People take offense and scoff at the wrong things.
For real. Celebs meet each other. UFC President Dana White tweeted a pic of him an Bieber at this past weekend's UFC event. So clearly this means I can no longer take UFC seriously as a fight organization.

Is it just me or this cupcake thread is full of cupcakes?
Almost seems like something a mod should handle, eh?
-
I'm sure I read somewhere that it was Matt Sorum who Scott had a problem with, not Slash.
Yeah Matt and Scott didn't even pretend to get along publicly.

And RQ with a calm, reasoned, well thought-out plea for sanity that will likely be ignored.
Picked this up today but most likely won't read it..
What?
I think Axl and Slash are Photoshopped on the cover
What?
On the magazine I have Axl and Slash look like dolls
Something really annoying about somebody who says "what" twice
Still don't understand the photoshop/dolls thing, but ok cool.
Why would you pick up the magazine if you aren't going to read it?

I work in the entertainment industry, I'm a film producer and director... and a lot of my deals are done on verbal agreements and handshakes.
I officially don't believe you. That's just ludicrous.

Dj is a star guitar player.
Under what criteria? Honest question and would like to know your opinion. I don't want anything to do with the nonsense that happened in the posts above this.
DJ has a stage presence granted, but is mostly known for being in Nikki Sixx's side project and being a touring guitarist in Axl's band. I won't argue his ability but if you grabbed 100 people randomly off the street and showed them DJ's picture, i'm willing to bet 95 wouldn't know who he is.
-
Come on guys. DJ, Bumble and Fortus are all great guitar players and at least 2 of them seem like really cool guys. But I think even they would admit they're not "stars".

At Rio, we need a medley of 3 new gnr songs, each going for 1 minute so it gives the fanbase a fucking taste of whats to come
I can't tell if you're kidding.
would you rather that or 20 second instrumentals of unreleased songs between the old songs?
Why do I have to choose between two things that suck?

I'd be disappointed if there weren't *any* new songs being tried out in Rio. Being in front of a huge, supportive crowd seems like the perfect place to try things people haven't heard yet. But people clamoring for a new album release date or a BUNCH of new material are just setting their expectations too high.

Anyway going to wait and see, they had agreed to one thing and did something else. It is not cool or allowed so let's see how things go.
In the real world it is important to protect your copyrights and ownerships.
So you've seen the agreement? Link?
Not trying to be smarmy but how do we know an agreement was broken if we don't know what was in it and how it was worded? We actually got a decent, civil discussion going about the different possibilities in the Axl vs Activision thread before it got buried by the usual juvenile bullshit.
I think that you should be able to ascertain that there was an agreement of some sort by seeing that Axl is suing. Then again, it will be hilarious if Axl goes to court and the judge asks him for a link that he can't provide.
That would be funny.
Obviously there was an agreement, but there's no way of knowing that it was broken if we don't know what the agreement was.
Steven Adler Court Case question
in 2011
Posted
IIRC, Axl didn't *have* to testify, he *wanted* to. He wanted his vindication. It wound up blowing up in his face as the jury hated him and Adler wound up getting twice as much money as they could have originally settled for.
