  1. I have tickets for Brum- block 15 which is a front block-only 5 rows from the front

Iwon't be travelling down till later and by then it's too late to be in a good standing position so at least i am guaranteed a great view.

I wonder if they'll be any PA's in the UK? i may have to alter my arrangments!!! I hope there are more dates-good ticket sales might prompt more to be added. Cardiff would be a bonus-I'd def get tickets.

With you on Cardiff, wouldn't need to worry about a hotel and/or trains then!

  2. We all know that there are more songs to come and perhaps a remix album which seems to be in the process of being compiled.

Ugh...remix album. Hope it's an Itunes only release or something

Have to say I'm not too fussed about a remix album either. Would love a live album though maybe a retrospective of shows from 01-11 will surface at some point.

New material would be awsome however given how long CD took to come out... I try to remain hopeful though.

  3. Here's what I think:

In 2011 the decade long Chinese Democracy Tour finally comes to an end. Before the end of the tour Chinese Democracy II (if indeed they'll call it that) could be released drawing a line under the Chinese Democracy era. A live compilation could follow featuring live performances of songs from 2001-2011 and this rumoured remix album that Brian is working on. The band take a break and work on a completely new album, written by all the current members, no leftovers from the CD sessions. It's released in late 2012 or 2013 and a tour follows. The album is received far better than Chinese as it doesn't have any of the baggage of Chinese.

  4. I think £50 is fairly reasonable, Robert Plant tickets are £50 for his UK tour.

Another thing you have to realise is that the ticket price hasn't really increased that much since 2006; tickets for the 2010 tour are £45, what brings it to over £50 are the Ticketmaster fees. In 2006 Ticketmaster never showed you the full price including fees they told you the face value but there were complaints and now the page tells you how much with fees the tickets cost. So really tickets have only gone up £5 which isn't much.

£50 including fees isn't extortionate, I got a ticket and booked a night in a hotel for less than it would cost me to see Aerosmith or the Stones and the Stones haven't really got their original lineup anyway.

  5. Don't know, I'm going to go with the Planet Rock presale tomorrow to be on the safe side. On the one hand they may not sell out quick because of the "its not really Guns N' Roses" types on the other hand there are only three dates and it will have been over four years since their last dates which were very well received.

Although don't be disheartened as there are rumours of another show at The O2 pencilled in if the first sell out and if they all sell out pretty quick who's to say there won't be more shows?

How does this Planet Rock presale work?

You just go to their website and click the link, no passcodes or anything. At least that's how it was when I got my Thin Lizzy ticket through their presale. I assume GN'R will be the same.

  6. Not long to wait now! :D :D :D

It's been a slow painful four year wait for me, had Wembley ticket in my hand but couldn't go in the end. :(

Just hope nobody bottles the band and non GN'R fans there go in with an open mind.

  8. No Cardiff date and London being midweek means I'll be going to Birmingham, never been to the arena there before know its near the airport though. Travelodges in Birmingham are fairly cheap (£20) so anybody looking for a cheap hotel, stay in a Travelodge.

Can't wait, waited four f***ing years for a GN'R arena date!

£50 incl. fees seems to be the going rate now, Robert Plant tickets were £50 each so its fairly reasonable I think. The announcements come at a bad time financially for me but I have money put aside specifically for GN'R. See you guys in Birmingham!

Hopefully the Planet Rock presale will work fine, it did when I got Thin Lizzy tickets. GN'R aren't the only band who do American Express presales, the Stones do.

  9. Guns N' Roses: The View Experience whats that?

I was thinking the same thing

Some VIP type thing I guess. It says:

Dedicated fast track entrance to The View from the City Room (adjacent to the box office).

Early access to the venue before the general public.

Pre-show entry to The View with a complimentary glass of champagne on arrival (a menu is available to order and pay for food at the bar).

Seats in a lower tier section in the main auditorium.

  10. Jason Newsted was also inducted with Metallica.

Personally I can see the then current lineup (if its any different from now) being there and the 'classic' lineup. I can't see there being a performance. In my opinion it would be wrong to exclude members from the 'classic' lineup and also to exclude the recent members. Maybe they won't be inducted because of all the politics though.

The thing is like it or not Guns N' Roses didn't end after the 'classic' band members left.

  11. They should use that picture, it would be one of the greatest album covers of all time.

Are you stupid? it would be great, but the greatest cover of all time, yeah keep dreaming

Okay I exaggerated, it would still look damn awsome. Better than the CD cover at any rate.

  12. I'd say its a given that GN'R will be inducted someday given how big they are and their influence on music.

I think that if GN'R is inducted Axl will want the then current lineup (if its changed at all, which is always possible...) to be there in addition to any past members. Otherwise it will seem as if GN'R post Slash's exit was erased from history. After all Guns N' Roses is still going strong.

  13. Call it Guns n' Roses already !

    rock3

They should use that picture, it would be one of the greatest album covers of all time.

Although it probably wouldn't do them any favours using the Chinese Democracy name I'd like something like Chinese Democracy Volume II: [insert awsome album name here]

  14. Saw the movie yesterday thought it was brilliant.

I did see the connection between African Child and Chinese Democracy in that some people see it as nowhere near the old GN'R stuff and arguably didn't sell as strong as had been hoped. However, Chinese Democracy is a masterpiece.

I didn't see a lot of Axl Rose in Brand's character. I thought the character was a lot more like Scott Weiland.

  15. I don't really play the Rock Band games as it would be pointless as I can play real life instruments.

However, to those who don't play instruments they do look like good fun.

I'm a huge Beatles fan and think that the Beatles Rock Band game looked phenomenal, the animations were a thing of beauty and the special instrument controllers you could get looked very nice indeed.

I think a GN'R Rock Band would be awsome but which lineup would you use? Personally, I'm all for sticking to the current lineup but then would the games sell? Although saying that the Van Halen Guitar Hero game used Wolfgang instead of Michael Anthony on bass.

  16. They'll be fine, just like at Sweden Rock and Helsinki Live! And whoever doesn't like the opening with CD have a big problem. How they start off the show is perfect..

Yeah, CD is the best opening track. When the album came out I thought that and hope that they'd open with it.

Reading should hopefully be fine. The thing with Download is that it is full of diehard rock fans who know all about the politics of GN'R so some may be annoyed by the lineup change.

Reading is on the whole nowadays not primarily a heavy rock festival anymore and is more a festival that 'scene kids' go to. So, most of the kids going probably will think that the band on stage is the original GN'R.

And once the classics get played everybody will be happy. The new songs are awsome live so should go down well.

The only thing is if they go on stage late which could really annoy people. If they're due on at say 8 or 9 and come on stage at say 11 or 12 then problems may start.

  17. The 2002 band was a supergroup in every meaning of the word. If that band had gone under a new name there would have been no negativity and it would have been labelled as the best supergroup of all time. However some people couldn't get over the whole GN'R name thing.

However, as others have said it wasn't as good a live band as the current band which IMO is the best version of the band since old GN'R.

  18. I see the most likely time for England Arena dates as being Before reading, so the 2nd leg would sart in the UK round mid august, do some Arena dates, then play Reading/leeds, then Ireland then hop over to mainland Europe., dont you guys think this will happen? seems the most likely, i cant see them only doing reading tbh. Just need to wait for Promoters to give info, i mean the Ireland shows were only announced yesterday.

I REALLY hope there are some arena shows. The O2 arena in Greenwhich would be awsome. Wembley can be quite annoying to get to. Although didn't the Reading site say that Leeds/Reading are their only UK appearances. Ireland afterall isn't in the UK.
