Viewing figure in...
This doesn't include those tuning in on 6music and subsequent iPlayer watches, BBC Music YT etc. Pretty good. Up on usual figures, a record for Elton in fact! Now for the aftershocks of this earthquake..anyone that monitors, knows the usual figures for GNR on YT/Spotify etc...should compare it a month from now and see the ripple effects....
https://www.bbc.co.uk/mediacentre/2023/glastonbury-audience-record-for-elton-john-bbc-one
Nice, it’s also nice seeing a lot of people, some not even fans standing up for Axl after the show. It seems like the reaction is generally favorable.
Regarding Spotify I don’t think there will be a huge spike in monthly listeners but hopefully I’m wrong. Also, older bands, especially bands formed in 80’s, 90’s or before surely get more spins from other forms of media given that their fanbases are older and broader in general.
What I find interesting though is the followers number on Spotify. GN’R are ranked in 41st place in that regard. There is only one band on the whole list which is older (Queen) and basically no other real rock band other than Queen come before them. AC/DC come in at number 47 and Metallica in 54th. Not saying it means anything but it’s nice to see.- 1

also, confirmation that the set will be broadcast 'live' (usually a 15 minute delay) CAN'T HAVE YOU CRAZY YOKEL AMERICANS OFFENDING THE BBC GODDAMIT https://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/music/news/guns-n-roses-setlist-glastonbury-2023-b2361388.html
I was at Donington 2006, the first hour was interesting and difficult for GN'R - Axl got pissed because of bottles flying and he was slipping all over the stage and well, crowd reception wasn't the greatest. However, as the show continued he pretty much turned things around, the crowd got into it. I've seen GN'R 9 times (will be 10 after Hyde Park), I think that might be my favorite time seeing GN'R along with the first time I saw the reunited lineup in 2016.
Axl is and will continue to be a controversial figure, it is what it is. Hopefully they come out on top at Glastonbury, if played right, a shorter set might benefit greatly in that setting.

"REEEEEEEE PEOPLE ARE ONLY ALLOWED TO BE SUPER POSITIVE REEEEEEEEE"
Fucks sake dude, people are entitled to give their opinions. It's what public forums are for.
I agree, everybody is entitled to their opinion. As I said earlier there will be love and hate. That pretty much applies to all songs ever written. The thing that I just don’t get is level of dislike people take to songs, especially on this forum. I get that not everyone will like it but it really is just a straight forward and fun rock song that actually sounds like GN’R. Is it the best song GN’R have done? No! But I like it for what it is. These guys are pushing 60 and to be honest I prefer Hard Skool to pretty much any new rock song I’ve heard for some time. I might be sentimental but I’m just happy to hear these guys together again in studio recordings.
I love that this forum has some hugely different views and that what makes this fun. Some will enjoy, some won’t. Some will analize every second of a song while others will simply listen and not get lost in all the details. It’s what makes this place what it is. Seems like most of us enjoy this one, can’t really ask for anything more.

The band have publicly said nothing about any of these songs and there are currently no tour dates immediately coming up for this to promote. From a marketing point of view it is really weird that this has been released when it has. You'd expect a press release or a band member to say something but nope.
It's not about promoting the single - singles promote things. What the hell is this promoting?I agree. I would guess an album but you know what, I’ve been burned so many times that I’ve decided to just enjoy the song for now. I would expect a press release today if this were any other band though…

These are just songs. Some will love them, some not but the level of hatred (ok, let’s call it extreme dislike) some seem to have for a pretty straight forward rock song by GN’R is baffling. Look, I get that people are starved for new matrial that was written by Axl, Slash and Duff but this is what we are getting for now, for better or worse. I dig it, GN’R are releasing songs and this one even has the feel of old school GN’R. It’s catchy and is straight to the point.
Plenty of bands release material that was left over from other album sessions, although most would probably record everything from scratch but that just isn’t the Axl way. He mixed it up on CD with older vocal takes and newer as well. If we’ll see a new record it will be the same way. And let’s not forget that for the majority of people this is new since the leaks only reached a very limited number of people.
Having said that, I think the song will do very well if they promote it. Throw out a press release and maybe do some interviews.
For the ones complaining, you can probably expect more of the same if/when a new album comes around. You’ll probably get a few Axl/Slash/Duff songs too but expect more “leftovers”. Axl will want at least some of that stuff out.

Yeah, I got pit tickets for the concert this November, dubbed as NITL still.Yeah, I think the Icelandic media and promoters are just misunderstanding the last show of a leg as the last show of the tour.

What time is GNR scheduled to go onstage?
I'm guessing around 8 pm. Show starts at 6 and there are two openers. Tyler Bryant & the Shakedowns and an Icelandic band, Brain Police.
Is anybody going to show up early? If so, what time? -

So It seems Axl did an interview with an Icelandic news paper, Fréttablaðið. To be released tomorrow morning.

More tomorrow.
Don’t have time translate now. Sorry about that.
Edit: Full interview...

Here is a Google translate of it:Until N 'Roses hit through the great appetite for destruction album, over 30 years ago, after which the world began to grow. They took the rock style, not least known for drugs and sex, all the while, have been controversial and similar to visitors on pages of gossip and popularity lists.
Something has calmed down over the years, but in the field, the old GNR is released, and they show that they have little forgotten when the guitar fights, Slash, runs the machine running off its magnificent fancy power.
Iceland is the finale of their long-term music event, Not in This Lifetime, which began in March 2016. Behind it is an amazing number of concerts and the drive on the band has been hard to focus on asking Axl, who answers one of the few interviews that the band has provided on the tour, how they keep on keeping their mythical fool on stage after a concert.
"We just want everyone to do our best for the fans, each other and our crew. Each one continues to encourage their solitude and achievement, "says Axl.
Have you experienced some particularly memorable highlights during this long tour?
"What concerts and every audience are unique. There is always something different and the memorable moments are as different as they are many. "
It's less than so given and no brains come to play in full for three and a half hours at each concert. What do you do to keep this concert out after a concert?
"We are different individuals and each has its own means to keep it in physical shape for it, but when it's done, you just have to do what you do to do what we do," says Axl. about the simple philosophy that keeps the band fresh.
With your concert in Reykjavík, decades ago, the dream of many of your Icelandic fans will be fulfilled. Have you ever thought about playing in Iceland, and did you usually know that the country existed when your popularity was at its absolute peak around 1990?
"Yes. We have long wanted to have a concert in Iceland and of course we knew that this country existed! "
Is there any special feeling to get to the stage in a new place after all this time in the business?
"We only think of giving everyone to meet the expectations of our fans so that they enjoy themselves and enjoy the concert. And maybe some new fans have got along the way from among those who could only see just how all the scenery and condition are. "
It's safe to say that both your fans and the industry have made your return to the Not in This Lifetime Tournament immensely successful. Has this enabled you to come up with new content in the near future?
"Accurate now, we only concentrate on the tour and the next concert but the atmosphere is good and it's been a good thing that it's never known."
Icelanders are a bit self-reliant and partly because of the feeling of the attitude of their world-famous visitors to the country and the nation so I have to ask you to respect me to ask you a few questions about Iceland.
Do you have something special that you want to do while you are in Iceland and are there any likelihood of stalling and relaxing here after the concerts that are the last of this long tour?
"It would be very nice, but the best thing to say, I have not thought so far."
Have you heard of any Icelandic musicians who have drawn your special attention?
"I think Björk is one of the best known and I'm her great fan." Is there any specific song on your program that is in a special favorite of you and always kicks you in the field when you play it in the field?
"I'm not sure" kissing us in the field "is the right wording, but at the moment I'm singing to Wichita Lineman," says Axl, but the band has taken his version of this famous song, Glens Campbell, who died last year. , during their tour of this tour.
"The currents from this song are so keen, especially after Glen dropped off and reminded me of the sound of our version very much on the old Guns song."- 4

I'm going! We got GA tickets...were holding out for early entry but it still states 'VIP TBA' on the Nightrain site. Even on the stadium map it doesn't show a golden circle. I'll be really pissed off if they announce it later on!
There will be a GC (but not called that), it will be first come, first serve. So basically, show up early and you'll get to be in the front.

A little update.... The promoters had a presale today. 5000 tickets were available and sold out in about two hours.

Have anyone received a presale code from nightrain?
When you log into your account at gunsnroses.com, your code is there. Each code can only be used once per show.

I saw a site listing golden circle tickets for sale, so presumably there are three sections.
Initially they had GC in there but for some reason changed it today when tickets went on sale. You can check the Facebook page of the promoter @showiceland and see the layout.
There are four zones:
GA (standing) - 18.900 ISK
Seats in boxes D,C, B, A, R, S, T: 29.900 ISK
Seats in boxes G, F, E, N, O, P: 39.900 ISK
Seats in boxes H, L, M: 49.900 ISK
-
The Nightrain presale has started for those interested. No Golden Circle - It's all GA for the floor and then split up to zone A and B on the day of the concert. Zone A (usually GC) will be first come, first serve.

This seems incredibly late to be announcing big tour dates for July. Are these sites trusted? Nothing official yet.
We’re used to it. We tend to get bands that are either strarting or finishing their tours.
Tickets to be sold here:
The guys organizing already organize a festival called Secret Soltice.

Haha... we get quite a few but I never thought we’d see GN’R. The concert promoters are saying it’s the biggest production we’ve ever had here.

Good observation because every last one, particularly the previous 2, have been monsterous, anti-human garbage who have rained death and destruction around the globe. The current one is as silly as that Slash drawing and took the murder mantle from his predecessor.
It was over 3 hrs, tonight seemed longer than last night, not sure how long the Prague show ran.
The intro started just before eight and final bows were at exactly 11:30.

I‘ve been a fan of GN‘R for a long time and I joined the board in 2004 after a few years of lurking. This place has always been my go to place for anything GN‘R and for the most part I‘ve enjoyed reading different point of views from the many great people on this board. We‘ve had our ups and downs through the years but it‘s always been interesting.
Our present situation is something I never thought was possible, Slash and Duff have returned and GN‘R are touring the world and receiving mostly praise while doing it. I know a lot of people who saw them this summer during the European tour and everybody was loving the shows. It seems like for the most part the only people complaining are some of the hardcore fans.
My advise (if anybody wants it) is to try enjoy it while it lasts, try to stop worrying about set lists, line ups, rasp, AC/DC Axl and guest appearances. I‘m not blasting anybody by the way, people are entitled to their opinions and I enjoy reading different points of view but at the end of the day building up frustration about something one has no control over is exhausting.
I‘ll be travelling to the US to see this version of GN‘R for the fourth time in just over a year on next Monday, I‘ve always enjoyed it and I know that I‘ll be having a great time. Hopefully they‘ll continue for a good while yet but you never know and I for one intend to enjoy the ride while it lasts.
