  1. Hardcore? Please, taking drugs is stupid... I haven't posted here in a while, understandably so, most of the threads on here are pretty useless. This one being right up there. Don't make it out like taking drugs is cool.

  2. They are saying now that it is possibly changing to a lava eruption, if that happens all flights will be on again.

However, it's impossible to predict the changes with a 100% accuracy so anything can happen.

  3. Lately, along with Jungle, I've heard You Could Be Mine and Sweet Child of Mine, played during NBA Games.

My fave interview of Axl is the one he did after Game 1 of the 2001 NBA Finals, which also has to be Allen Iverson's greatest moment.

In this clip Axl just comes across as regular dude, and it's cool to seem him out his element, talking about something that you wouldn't think he would enjoy.

Seriously, before that interview, who would have ever guessed that Axl remotely enjoyed watching NBA Games; Certainly not me - At first when I watched that clip I use to think that Axl was probaly stoned or drunk, but recently I went back and watched that game again on ESPN Classic, and I had forgetton what an exciting game that was.

For those that don't remember the Lakers were heavily favored, and Iverson (Sixer's guard) had one the greatest performances ever to led the 76er's to a win.

I think some of what I thought was Axl being high, was simply - him being excited that he just witnessed an amazing game that he didn't want to end.

One of the best games I´ve ever seen, Iverson was just unbelievable... out of this world. In the end Iverson couldn't beat a team as talented as the Lakers but that game he punished them. Damn, thinking about that game, the Sixers vs. Toronto series from the same playoffs came to mind, what a great series that was. Iverson will always be one of my favorites for how he approached the game of basketball... like Axl, he always did it his way.

Shit, that was off topic :D

  4. They're not going to Download Festival, AC/DC is the headliner, they don't need Guns N' Roses. But I'm sure they will get Reading and Graspop at least.

I dont think having AC/DC there will make a difference, GN'R played there in 2006 when they also had Metallica as headliners, so......

Exactly, three days equal three headliners.

  5. As far as the crowd went, it is what it is...Would I have liked it to be all die hard fans, like the kind that filled Hammertstein Ballroom? HELL YES! But everyone who came had a great time.

I believe Ron played the solos to Catcher on the acoustic, which was awesome. Especially at the end. I've always felt the outro to Catcher is so brilliant, probably some of Axl's best lyrics ever, and on the album, the mix drowns out his vocals a bit, but last night, wow, just wow, it was amazing.

To me though, the highlight of the evening was This I Love. It's one of those songs where Axl needs to give 110% to nail it, and boy did he nail it. Every note, spot on, perfect. I think my brother captured this whole song on his camera, if so, I'll try and get it uploaded today...

Believe me guys, it was NO easy task getting backstage to meet Axl at the end. So many asshole security guys at the place, but I was patient, stayed with my people, and finally got in...

I'm on 3-hours of sleep and now have to go to work. My first week at my new job. Working at General Motors in NYC. Free cars for everyone if Axl releases the next album! How's that sound? :)

Congrats man, I've always enjoyed your posts (well at least most of the time ;) )... good to see that such a commited fan got to see the show

  6. Surprise gigs comin'!!

Looking forward to seeing where these surprise gigs are going to be... hopefully you guys will come to Iceland the next time you come to Europe.

Good to see you back on the board and even more so good to see you back on the road doing what you do best of all!!!

  7. suprised this isn't a bba thread.

Nah Slash played on the song so he would not have touched this one with a 10 foot pole

Most songs on that list are good! Check the comments, it's like the worst list ever complied.

It's a terrible list, no argument there. I take these things with a grain of salt. Who really cares what Spinner or any magazine has to say? NR is a great song to me, and that's good enough in my mind.

But I was responding to the comment about BBA. He only posts negative articles about Axl/the new band. He wouldn't dream of posting a negative article about a song that the old band did

Sorry man, I quoted you by mistake. I agree completely about BBA... he's a major prick.

Please don't confuse me with that dude... anyway, I think November Rain is great and totally disagree with the list...

  8. In other news, Axl Rose has just cut off his right hand. The reason: Slash was part of this tattoo he's been carrying around for more than two decades, he just couldn't handle seeing Slash's smug skeleton face one more time.

Really, it's unreal that people buy into this shit. Axl understands that Slash is a part of the band history, granted he doesn't like the man but there is no way he would ban Slash gear at the venues.

  9. just so everyone knows, Axl didnt get "wrapped up in the cables" during better. it happened right in front of me, his earpeice fucking SCREAMED so he ripped it out, and it got caught on his jeans for a second. he then came running back out at shot a atraight up DEATH GLARE at the soundbooth, and did the 2nd half of the song without his earpiece.

That's nice. :) Axl was obviously in high spirits as that incident might have ended differently...

    E.g. like this:

Haha... he might even hava a shorter fuse than Axl, thankfully he seems to hold back (most of the time).

  10. Axl it is ungreatfull lost your memory...My friend, you wouldn't be nothing if the old line up didn't work with you in the old days...Just think about it for a while....By the way....What is GNR today? It is a band or couple of guys work for a bunch of dollars...? I don't know if is in the band Ron Thal, Paul Tobias or what ever...maybe now is playing the drums Teddy Zig Zag...Who knows? Always in Axl's planet is estranged. The GNR's soul is dead in the 90. Only Axl can do what he has to do for reload his carrera: call the original line up and stoped all this fuckin bad dream...

Here's the thing, there is no reunion going to happen any time soon (if ever). This is what all of us need to get through our heads. Now on to the dollar thing, what are most of the 80's and 90's band these days other than a bunch of guys trying to get payed? There are more than a few bands out there that have reunited for nothing else but money, many bands are business agreements without "the love" so to speak. While it may be nice seeing some of those bands live it really doesn't do anything for you. Music wise most of the bands that reunite will only try and emulate past greatness and with terrible luck. I love Chinese Democracy, do I think it's better than Appetite? No but I still think it's great and with time it might be in the running to be my favorite or at least one of my favorites. This is better than Axl, Slash and the rest getting together and trying to do something that eventually would most likely be the biggest let down one could imagine. The chemistry of the old lineup will not be reproduced, not by anyone and that includes the old lineup. This is the fact that most people don't seem to get, these are guys that have grown apart, matured in different ways and simply in some situations purely dislike each other. It simply makes no sence for them to get back together.

I know Slash has been pretty positive in recent times but he's said his share of stuff about Axl in the past. Now Axl has released the new album and wants to have his say. Most of us are supportive of that and want to know his side of the story, actually I've been wanting to hear his side for years. Some here don't seem to be able to handle Axl's side so well for some reason. Did anyone really think that through all the shit that has been throwed at Axl for years (actually well over a decade) that he wouldn's finally have his say? Whatever people think about his side they need to understand that he needed to have his say.

  11. Dear Axl,

This was a great read and I love the fact that you came over here and told your story, for years people have heard only one side and now we have both. It's good to hear the whole thing in your own words and in your own timeframe. For what it's worth I believe your story. Some here will protest this story as many have protested the other sides for a long time, I've always chosen to be in the middle of things and not judging anyone. Whatever happened, happened and I'm just glad you were able to rise above everything and release a great record and hopefully you will continue your journey with GN'R and give us more amazing music and performances for years to come.

Please, come back to the boards again, this has been really refreshing.

Happy Holidays to you, everyone realated to GN'R, your family and all the fans.

    Best regards and much happyness,

    Brynjar
