  1. Apollo if Erin needed money that bad why doesn't she do what 99 % of most Americans do and GET A JOB? Years ago a former make model who had lived with Priscilla Presley for 7 years write a book about their relationship that was entitled, Priscellla Elvis and Me. I think his name was Michael Edwards. Anyway I saw Priscilla on the Oprah show and she described it as the ultimate betrayal.

  2. Love the pic of Frank and his lady. My Welcome to the Jingle shirt continues to bring me extraordinary luck. Wore it to Q brothers Christnas Carol yesterday at the Chicago Shakespeare theater. I got to meet all the actors and they all said cool shirt. Made some cool videos that I posted on the Night Train official Facebook page. ?

  3. Thanks guys for all the validation. As they say on one of my all time fav shows GOSSIP GIRL. You're nobody til you're talked about. You know you love me. XOXO. Little EMO Annie ?

Nobody is talking about you. We are making fun of you.
The celebrity worship is really, really weird and unhealthy.

But you have to admit that at least LEA is pleasant in her exchanges on here and she doesn't get rude and mean like past Axl worshippers did.

I would rather have her here than volcano, Gunner or You-Know-Who/27alt-accounts.

I do appreciate that Annie doesn't t-roll or try and bait people and she doesn't insult other posters.

If we are gonna have an Axl Worshipper on board, it might as well be a nice and friendly one like Annie.

I like meeting actors cuz there was a time that I wanted to be an actress. I also have a thing for surgeons. Hee hee

  4. This was originally discussed in Len Bastards thread about the anniversary of John Lennon's passing. Len had questioned whether Catcher In The Rye was really a tribute to John or just giving Mark Chapman a platform for fame and notoriety.

I always interpreted the song to be about Axl's feelings towards Chapman and referring to John's death as the loss of a cultural movement. "You took our innocence behind our stares" refers to the assassination of a musical hero, someone who represented an important counterculture movement for many people who grew up in the 60s/70s and his murder came as a cold, hard slap in the face. The line "sometimes the only thing we counted on when no-one else was there" refers to the music and how it was always "there" for us in our times of need etc.

The lyrics refer to a song that he can't play anymore but was once a source of comfort etc ("all at once the song I heard, no longer would it play, for anybody or anyone, that needed comfort... "). I can totally relate to that. Being the big MJ fangirl that I am, I used to get so much enjoyment from listening to his music, but following his death, there were certain songs or eras (particularly the early Jackson 5 stuff) that I just couldn't listen to anymore. I think Catcher In The Rye is about feeling robbed of enjoying John's art by Chapman (summed up in the line "what used to be's not there for me").

I think it's a beautiful sentiment, almost referring to music as a friend we once had a relationship with, but one that is now tainted or can never be enjoyed in the same way. There is a definite change in the way we listen to an artist's music post-death, particularly if you were a fan of that artist before their death. It becomes almost bittersweet listening to certain songs, certain lyrics become more poignant and their are some songs which are just utterly heartbreaking to listen to (I'm sure fellow Scott Weiland fans can relate to this experience in light of recent events).

Of course I could be talking a load of bollocks myself. But I like to think I know what I'm talking about. As with any song that has fairly abstract lyrics, its completely open to interpretation.

That's really beautiful. A friend and I went to Strawberry Fields on December 8th. It was very emotional.

It's the same with ginger bollocks, i think he's a dick and his being a dick tends to colour my perception of a lot of what he does and produces. Really and truly speaking, if you go over his discography, apart from flashes of brilliance, he's on the most uninspired people in terms of subject matter I've ever come across. One in a Million i like, thats interesting, Appetite is full of fantastic songs about reasonably puerile things and i like that about it, he does that well...but every time he tries to get deep he just shows himself up as a bit witless to my mind. He's either whinging about birds that gave him the ol' heave-ho or just trying to be complex and obscure, he writes songs like a not very intelligent man that over-thinks things.

Don't mean to say i despise him or anything, Appetite is fantastic, Lies, particularly the second side (showing my age ) is fucking fantastic, like really really brilliant. After that he just appears to be trying to be more clever than he is.

I feel like when it comes to Axl Rose, you and I are like Jean Valjjean and Javert. So to quote one of my fav lyrics from Les Miz. You are wrong. And always have been wrong. Axl is a genius.

  5. Hey turns out we were able to meet Chris Hemsworth near Rockerfeller Center around MN cuz he was in NYC to host SNL this week to promote his new movie the Heart of the Sea. I really think the Welcome to the Jingle shirt brought me good luck. And I seriously doubt that Axl or Team Brazil would ever call a super talented drop dead gorgeous internationally famous movie star who also happens to be a really nice guy an idiot. If anything they would want to put a GNR song in one of his movies!

  6. If only Fernando could come in here and chat with us again to tell us what's going on. Reality is the situation must become more and more serious so he can come here for another damage control section. That's how GNR's management communicates. They wait for things to get really ugly so they can bash and offend fans thinking they are right, while in reality good communication throughout time would eliminate all negativity and bring fans and band closer. Too bad they, and their boss, are not very intelligent people and they love the "us against the world" childish mentality.

I have said this before. I think they are taking a metaphorical we do not negotiate with terrorists stance. They will make an announcement when everything falls into place at it's proper time. Until then enjoy the holidays.

  7. They should sell tinned spaghetti. They'd make a ton selling it to GNR fans as Down on the Farm plays.

Ironically enough they sell spaghetti cones to go for lunchtime. Not quite a tin, but its close haha

Was a really nice restaurant. My friend and I owe a huge debt of gratitude to the person who bumped this thread. We had a lovely time!

You are welcome! Glad you liked it too. Besides the GNR connection, the restaurant itself was fantastic. I'll be going back there.

And very accessible by subway. Was an awesome little gem of a restaurant. I will go back there for sure on my next trip to NYC.

  8. I've spoken to Erin a few times and I have a friend who knows her very well. While I actually agree that a few of the items she put up were in questionable taste, there was no spite, malice or disrespect intended. Since Axl has spoken at length about their relationship and used actual incidents from their past as music video fodder etc, this pearl clutching about her not respecting his privacy is borderline laughable.

Re the abuse allegations, out of morbid curiosity, how many victims and witnesses and settled law suits do there have to be before one might reasonably accept that Axl's most likely done some horrible shit? Ball park figure?

I think Erin's actions in this sale were somewhat passive aggressive. If you truly believe there was no malice intended I have some swamp land to sell you.

This is cringeworthy and anyone who supports it is an idiot.

    Worlds most dangerous rock band......,

Axl is all about the music - call him Mr. integrity.......

Annie - is there any shirt that GnR could release where you wouldn't praise it?

If GnR released a shirt that said Michael C Hall sucked or Chris Hemsworth was an idiot.....

Ps - dang, I just actually caught that. Axl signed in as Dexter. So naturally that show would become your favorite.

    Gold star for you!
