How is there not a better quality version of the Brian May Catcher out there? Presumably it was May's solo that was still on the track before the middle of 2006 when Bumble came in laid down his tracks, and almost everything without Ron's additions leaked sometime between 2006 and 2008...yet never a higher quality/finished version of Brian May's Catcher.

Would lol if he does GNR songs but only from Chinese Democracy

Like I said, one would expect Slash or Duff on CD bonus tracks, so there would be no "comeback album" expectations. And Axl coming off the reunion tour to release CD2 is no different than Slash finishing the tour to release and tour an album with Piles Kennedy.
No it's more like Van Halen reuniting with David Lee Roth and then releasing a 20 year old album with Gary Cherone after a successful tour.

Axl gets the chance to mark the 10th anniversary of his magnum opus, the fans get a "new album" without people expecting Slash and Duff to be on it, people who didn't give the album a chance the first time round but enjoyed the songs at the gigs have something new to buy, Universal can recoup some more of the $13 mil they spent on tracks gathering dust, and the whole thing gets the band big publicity and new material for another few years of touring.
Everybody wins.
It makes perfect sense... which means it probably won't happen.
Actually it makes little to no sense to have a GNR reunion, go on one of the biggest and most successful tours of all time, then release 2 albums of music without Slash (or Duff, I guess)

Ron's intros to various songs in 2010 > NILT's big rock band ending to 90% of the set list

I think Axl still had confidence in 06 that he could be the best. 2010 was like his last ditch effort to make CD more than it was and it all faded away after that year.
2006 Axl was in control
2010 Axl seemed more desperate.
Both years were incredible though so either is a winner for me. I wish there had been a true US leg of the 2010 tour though
Thinking he seemed or sounded desperate in 2010 is a pretty bizarre take imo. He was MORE in control and definitely more consistent in 2010 than he was in 2006, and seemed to be having more fun as a performer than he did in 2002 or 2006.

I don't get why Prostitute isn't played more for this very reason.
It's the most Guns sounding CD song to me.
It's probably because it's vocally taxing and Axl'd cough up a lung.
Yeah, but then there's SOD which Axl sounded good-great on in every vocal era and it probably sounds at its best when clean and high anyway.

Love it, baffled that it was dropped entirely after being a showcase song for most of the prior 15 years. I am a bit frustrated there isn't one perfect version, as the 2001/02 studio version with Bucket's outro solo, Frank's drum roll, and Axl's harmonizing with the guitar before the last chorus would be the ultimate version, but this is the closest thing on CD to a UYI era piece and I can't understand why it hasn't been brought back for NITL when all the other CD ballads made it out.

Halfway. But besides the look of the guys (and they still looked weird to me for a band called GNR), I consider their interpretation of the songs as freakshow as well.
How so? 2006 versions were pretty faithful beyond Ron's noodling from time to time, which even Slash does on basic songs like Yesterdays now.

Very unpopular opinion on here but never liked Axl's 00s voice. That includes even 2006. I know it's more powerful than today but it was somehow strange.
Combine that with the freakshow and the new direction and style this version of the band never flashed me.
The freakshow aspect was completely gone by 2006. Even Robin looked normal.

I'd say Scott was much worse than whatever complaints about Axl are today. During the period above he was just a weirdo skeleton kind of yell singing while dancing like he was tripping and was barely intelligible.

They were some of the earliest songs recorded for Chinese, before SOD, Madagascar, Riad and I believe even Chinese itself. Has there ever been any discussion as to why Axl waited until 2006 for those to debut live? Were they even part of an alt set list in 2002?
-
Well his voice and throat were fucked up for most of the UYI tour so that's not really his "normal" singing voice to begin with. His UYI "rasp" was throat nodules and damage, and doesn't sound the same as when he really pushed it before 1991 and in 2006 and even 2010.

Would Axl's voice have improved if he had been less bloated like he was in early '16 at the first shows? I honestly believe so... But there's little hope for that now as he grows older. It's so sad and pathetic to see people getting older and using that as an excuse to just let themselves go... Oh well.
Weight wise, Axl is definitely in better shape now than he was in 2016. I watched some video from 2016 the other night and was actually shocked at how big he looked in comparison. A good 20 pound difference, and wearing shirts that fit instead of what looked to be a shirt at least 1 if not 2 sizes too big making him look even bigger.

Ill be suprised if he doesnt play WTTJ/SCOM/PC every single night and nothing more of GNR
No idea how much VR will be on the setlist though
I'd be surprised if he plays any, since he outright said he just played Guns songs for 2 years straight and doesn't need/want to do them in the set when there's such a large catalog of non GNR songs.

Lmao that interviewer really sounds like he's never listened to any of Slash's work at all

Wildside has the best version
Better solo, the added outro is much better than just doing double time for a minute
-
Yeah if only Axl and Slash could have gotten along, they could have put out The Great Milenko

Was it ever revealed which songs from Snakepit that Axl wanted back?

I, too, saw Rockstar. I think this means that Myles Kennedy ends up the lead singer for GNR.

So is this stuff getting put back up, because Indiana 91, The Ritz, Sound Machine 1986, TWAT/Prostitute performances from 2014, tons of full shows from NITLT, Paris 1992 and a lot more that have been up for years are easily found on Youtube still

The Wildside version is better than the AB

It's great. The album version is great too. Slash's version has some lines that I love as well, and ultimately, like most CD songs, the best version to me is a mix of the demo/album/live takes. Slash plays some fills that hit that same magical note that the May version solo is built around.
