Like I said.. either you love those songs or you don‘t. It s not like I ever would stop loving the lies, appetite and uyi albums… If you dont like their music any more I get it, for me the bands I loved as a teenager are still the ones where my heart is full of joy when I see them live. As long as Axl doesn’t become full bon jovi mode I am fine with it
I love the songs. Just don't like to see the band phoning it in.

Well, some do. But good to know how you feel about it, I was curious about your opinion!
Sarcasm aside, you do realise it's fans like you who allow GNR to be the travelling karaoke nostalgia outfit they are today, don't you??

I wouldn't pay to see em do the same shit over and over to diminishing results. Haven't seen em since 2012 w/Izzy in London and I honestly think you guys are mad, forking out for the same shit year after year.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.
This is why I haven't parted money for a GNR ticket since 2012.

That's 2023's excuse for no new music sorted.

The first one was pointless. A second would be a joke.

SURELY we will get something new in 2023.
Slash is looking pretty stupid right now.
They should drop The General when we hit 1000 pages and announce tour dates.
Something tells me GNR don't pay attention to the number of replies to a thread on a fan message forum.

Given it a couple more listens lately, and it's a lot better than I remembered it being. Thoughts?
Shoot Me Again, Purify, Some Kind of Monster and the title track are all great songs. I even quite like Frantic as an opener.

I love stuff like this.

Its time to face Axls voice is absolutely gone...I don't want to rate his performance during Presleys funeral, but taking away the fact of his great gesture, heart and emotions, only saying this in this particular forum, we must admit his voice is long gone. If he isnt capable of sounding strong in this register for only one song (I know it wasnt a show) it means he can no longer do it.
Im very sad about it.
I repeat this once more, I'm not taking any shot at Axl, it was very nice what he did for his friend; but his singing speaks for itself in terms of vocal range/power/drive.
He's sounded bad on NR for years. I actually thought his rendition at the LMP memorial was an improvement to some of the NITL performances I've heard of NR.

If my ears are correct, the piano was in standard tuning, whereas Axl usually plays this song in e-flat (like most GnR songs since 1986). So that probably also added to the difficulty.
Pianos are always in standard tuning.

Took a lot of balls for Axl to do this acoustic at such a traumatic event.
Good on him and I actually thought he sounded pretty good.

What baffles me is our patience. Year after year we wait. Granted the two songs dropping in 2021 gave the band another 3 or so years to keep us dangling some more. Like I always say, we're glutton for punishment and we love it! There's something very addictive about the neverending wait, 95 percent likely for nothing.
Speak for yourself. I find this band tedious beyond belief. Getting new music from them is like pulling teeth. Long, agonizing and joyless.

Ahh missed that area somehow. Still… crazy ass list haha
Beneath Aaliyah who is 46 places ahead of MJ. Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande, Paul McCartney, Beyonce, all above MJ. Ridiculous.

Golden Circle/VIP, etc, especially on your top 5 favorite artists or bands? Or these days, you are just happy that you are there?
These days, I don't bother at all. Better things to spend my money on.
Concerts are a rip-off. Plus most of the great people who were truly worth seeing are either past it or dead.

Vegas residency. "A Night With Axl Rose And The Music of Guns N' Roses"- or some such thing.
Axl would never do that.
I think with Axl, it's Guns N Roses or bust. I'm certain he'd carry on if someone died/left. Guns ends when Axl decides it ends. Or dies.

It'll be the best thing to happen to this carnation of the band in my opinion. AXL clearly not interested in recording. And I'd rather them quit than tour into eternity and destroy the legacy. Slash/duffleaving my trigger music/or not
Funny, folks thought them joining would trigger new music....

I don't think anybody would be in shock, including Axl.
The general public would barely notice, imo. GnR are total has beens at this point because they never release anything worth notice.
It's as simple as that - we, the people on this board, are probably the most hardcore fans the band has left. And I don't get the vibe that anybody here would have a meltdown if it stops now.
Because it's pretty much over anyway.
Sad but true.
I'm sure a few hundred thousand casual music fans would be disappointed to not have caught the original 3 as part of their live show bucket-list (even though they've had ample opportunity). But as a hardcore GNR fan, I'd actually not really care. It's not like they've done anything remotely interresting since regrouping, so it's no big loss.
I'm one of the few hardcore Guns fans who hasn't even bothered seeing the reunion. Saw NuGuns several times between 2006-2012, by 2016 my interest in seeing the same setlist had diminished to practically zilch. Really don't care that it's Slash and Duff playing with Axl instead of Ron and Tommy. The songs are the same and there's nothing new to excite me or entice me to see them. They have made themselves a band for casual music fans who only come to shows to see Appetite and November Rain. I became a fan because of the whole canon of work and in the vain hope of more music being produced at that quality. They didn't bother so I checked out. I'm sure they're not losing any sleep over that, but nor am I if they decide to call it quits tomorrow.

Which Sabbath song?
"Zero the Hero" if memory serves.

Paradise City.
Main riff ripped off from Sabbath, chorus is lame and gimmicky.

Wonder how many GNR song ideas end up on the next SMKC album? My guess? All of em.

2023 WORLD TOUR
in GUNS N' ROSES - DISCUSSION & NEWS

Why am I here? I guess for the same reason as all the other fans are who post in the New Album thread which has just surpassed 1k pages, whilst the show threads struggle to reach 3-4 pages these days.
