If he didn't want piano to be a part of the band, then why was he a part of GnR?
why does it have to be all or nothing? Slash didnt like some of their songs either, should he have left before recording AFD?
he was taking a jab with the piano comment it was meant to be funny but still get a point across
doesnt mean he didnt want to be in the band at all or didnt like playing with them
i feel the same everytime i watch Estranged, whats with the dolphins
doesnt mean i stop being a fan or cant like the other videos
I just feel like sticking with Duff's comments about it and leaving the rest alone.
i think it may have been you who said the same thing when Slash commented
i personally like when they answer questions posed to them and hear their thoughts, whether we like their answers or not, i like the insight
-
whats with the piano comment was great
showed the evolution of the band and how it wasnt just the fans thinking what the.........
sarcastic and refreshing, matt doesnt try to be pc like some of the other guys
-
That was it? This what people are bashing Matt Sorum over? This is silly.
^this^
people seem almost insulted by matts observation,
a guy who actually performed with the man.........
omgz ive watched every youtube video and went to a real live concert, Axl wasnt singing for the audience what does matt know?!?!
axl has no beef with matt, he gave him a ride back to his hotel back in '07, no reason people should be dissing him now for his educated opinion
-
It is a fact that Matt saved the band back in the day, so all the people who say he ruined UYI are fucking morons.
The same way Robin saved GnR back in 1997 right ?
except it didnt take 11 years after matt joined to get an album out
and he didnt run away before the release and tour of that album
otherwise yea he saved them just like robin

Merck says
in 2010
Merck took a lot of heat for Axl all those years even when most if not all wasnt his fault
very professional move to say good things about him and the album
-
Maybe Axl is worried about reunion rumours starting again?
did the rumours end?
-
imo Fergie pulls it off pretty well
-
it was hyped as an interview, not a 90 second chat, which is what makes it disappointing
interviews involve both questions and answers, someone should let this journalist know

Who suggested that? I certainly didn't. Obviously a certain degree of responsibility for this contractual lapse lies with Slash given he more than likely gave the go ahead to Activision for their usage of Guns N' Roses' “Jungle” with his avatar appearance (despite Axl's request for no old or new GN'R depiction), as well as the GN'R bullet bullet logo sticker (which is the most important factor of the case in my opinion). But the majority of blame has to predominantly lie with Activision given they as an organization are withdrawn from the GN'R saga and acted as the main mediator (as such) during the whole process of securing the so called “go ahead” for “Jungle's” incorporation in the game. They (Activision) ultimately failed to uphold an agreement (often reiterated) with the owner of the Guns N' Roses brand, and by using the GN'R bullet logo in their release pack effectively shot themselves in the foot.
So apparently, you've read the contract.
Can you post it please?
this
cuz the court papers make lots of mention about discussions and agreements made with the housekeeper but no sign of the actual contract signed by Axl and Activision
impossible to form an opinion based on one sided accusations when merit lies in what was agreed upon in writing
-
axl is in guns n roses.
props to him for finally admitting what most fans already knew but a few naive ones refused to believe
this was never a band in his eyes
doesnt matter what contributions they make or how long theyve been a part of it
its only about Axl
wonder how it makes the current members feel, the ones who put years into making CD or who are looking forward to a new album
to know that they can never be associated with the music they helped create
not much of an incentive to want to make more with the guy
makes sense why there were no videos and no promotion
he doesnt want any member profiting off or being associated with his name
he tours because he needs the cash and he knows hes the one everyone came to see anyway
-
Oh come on. He may not be solely driven by money, but it certainly plays a factor. Why not just put out an album then? Why do all the press to support its sales?
because hes proud of his work and doing promo is what most musicians, artists, actors, writers, generally anyone who puts out some sort of product for the masses does
Slash gives interviews even when theres nothing to promote he doesnt run and hide from fans for years at a time
Why do a Mastercard commercial?he was asked to do it for the 2001 Grammy's
it wasnt finished on time and didnt air
There's nothing wrong with money being a motivator. But to say that money is not the issue with GnR is a bit of a stretch in my opinion. Is it the only factor? No. But I think it's a big one. I also think that if the money was right, and Axl said yes but wouldn't commit to starting on time, Slash would agree - for the money AND for the chance to play with the guys again.he didnt do it in '06 when Axl demanded he fork over his rights to the back catalogue, so no, its not just about the money, he was offered a shitload
I personally think he wouldnt do it if Axl doesnt give in with the time thing either
Most artists are contracted to support a new album, movie, book with interviews and appearances. That's why most artists do it. Sure they're likely proud of their work, but it's part of the job. Slash forking over the rights to the back catalogue is not the same as tolerating Axl coming on late. In the former, Slash loses lots of money, in the latter Slash loses nothing though he gains a lot of frustration.
as I pointed out Slash doesnt shy away from talking to people and granting interviews even when there is nothing to promote
appearing as a guest guitarist on The Late Show when there was no album to sell isnt part of any contract
established artists and A list entertainers dont have to sell themselves like up and comers do
if he didnt believe in his work and didnt enjoy the interaction with interviewers and fans he wouldnt be out there all that much simple as
as for late starts, the band loses money for every minute theyre over curfew
Slash already lost alot of money by giving up the rights of the name, legal expenses, Axl denying permission of Guns songs to be used in movies, etc
hes adamant about the start times, has been for a very long time, and I have absolutely no reason to think he feels otherwise

3 for the memories

Slash should have walked off stage lol
not like they did a parody of his wife or kids
it was on a guy who he hasnt talked to in years and who referred to him as a cancer
Slash being displeased was more than enough...........too much even given how axl claims to feel about his former band member
parts of it were actually a little humorous
-
what do those guys do years between tours?
they work on other projects, tour with other bands, do session work for other artists
if Axl took time off to work on a reunion I doubt the current members would even notice the difference
-
every artist with a record deal has to deal with a record company
this isnt something exclusive to Axl Rose
if hes burned bridges with them over Chinese Democracy he will have to figure it out if he wants to release a new album
-
its none of our business, why are you so curious about it anyway, are you Axls accountant?
so curious is an overstatement
just like asking if Im his accountant
it was a question to which you obviously know nothing about
-
was the band getting paid $1 million?
Excellent!
So brilliantly funny and clever.
This kind of humour is so fresh and unheard!
I'm amazed by such an intelligent remark. You are awesome!
your just jealous because you didnt get to say it first
edit
its a fair question irregardless
how much were they getting paid to do that gig
-
was the band getting paid $1 million?
-
So now Slash is not allowed to play with other artists?
only respected and talented artists like Baz and Bubble
or he should just disappear for years, not perform at all, then go out and tour the same album for the 3rd time
that would make Slash so much cooler
-
the fact that you non re-unionist arseholes always call him a sellout
then your boy turns around and does the exact same thing
show us something that implies that Slash playing a concert with his band and someone called him a sellout...
he plays with whomever he wants to play with, and gets called a sellout everytime by the same types who are here defending Axl
people especially like to bring up MJ, Paulina Rubio, Fergie, etc etc
is Axl a sellout for this, of course not
he wasnt a sell out for playing for Donatella Versace or Rosario Dawson or with Baz or Bubbles or for doing GTA either
so the double standards are ridiculous
"Fuck the bourgeoisie!!!"-Axl Rose
(unless they pay you $1 million dollars)
You work for free I guess? Never accepted a pay rise?
If the band played this gig for FREE all of your Re-unionist aresholes would still be talking shit - "no one will pay this line-up to play" etc.
Slash plays all of his shows for free I guess, gives it all to charity I suppose - god bless him.
what does Slash have to do with this?
the fact that you non re-unionist arseholes always call him a sellout
then your boy turns around and does the exact same thing
and suddenly its all hey they charge for shows no big deal
been hearing for years its all about Axls integrity its all about the music with him
at least Slash isnt a hypocrite about it
you dont see him tweeting hypocritical shit like ...................
This was hard comin' as all anyone bsides the band thinks about is the money. Who gives a fuck about the fans, how it sounds or if it fucks up the rest of the tour?! I don't perform for ANYONE in this industry n' no matter how nice, funny or what spin they put on things they're seemingly n' unfortunately all the same. We had a good show here in Sao Paulo n' a bunch of opportunists w/out my knowledge or consent did their best to make it about them b4 hand instead of the fans or there wouldn't have been shit in the Post but hey we got past 'em enough to do r gig. What's really crazy is these same types have the unmitigated gall to feel they're the ones who were taken advantage of!! Fuck the bourgeoisie!! Of course that's not to say there weren't plenty in attendance the other nite who like us got duped as well but the others well... It's not for them or their kind
...................and then charge the same type of people he whined about just a few months ago a $1000 a ticket
I don't know what you're talking about, I don't think you do either, you're just ranting now. You know nothing about the situation, the band can play to who they want, whenever they want, and whiney bitches on an internet forum ain't going to change that. When Axl starts appearing on mastercard adverts and plays with fergie, you might have a case. You're not selling out when you're getting paid for your job, no matter how much you receive.
Put the keyboard down and get some fresh air.
of course you dont know what Im talking about
its obviously way over your head
the fact you brought up Fergie says it all
When are Dexter, Beta and Fernando coming back to mygnr?

nah, its not ballsy to rebel like some young hotshot punk when a guy is almost a half century old thats the only harsh truth here
its laughable n sad if he thinks its okay to be inconsiderate n selfish when it comes to the people who made him what he is today
that includes both his fans n bandmates
starting a show ontime is not an arbitrary limit imposed just to piss him off -to give him an opportunity to show how r n r he is
its not about him its about the 10,30,50 thousand who came to see him
feel free to go against the flow all you want but it shouldnt impinge on others
