  1. was on txt msg talking with friends, just came back, Ashba did "Beautiful Creatues" and contributed greatly to Sixx AM, He does Slash's solos better than slash !!! heard it live :) He is a very good musician.

LOL, that reminds me how in '01 people said Buckethead played Slash's solos better than Slash, then in '06 people were saying how Finck played them better <----that always made me laugh, now in '10 its DJ. Thats cool and all, Axl is paying his employees good $ to cover someone elses material, they should do a good job dontcha think. The one thing all those dudes have in common though.......... besides taking a paycheck.......... is that none have them have ever wriiten material as good as what they were paid to copy.

  2. Neither Ozzy nor Slash are current GNR members.

neither Izzy nor Marc Cantor are current GNR members either, but ya, happy birthday to 'em.

anywho, does anyone know what Ron played at his gig?

  3. Well a lot, considering he initially denied the claims of the incident at Axl's house. I'm not into the Slash bashing but he is far from a saint.

what he denied was going to Axl's house and speak to Axl, which was true, he didnt speak to Axl.......... he spoke to Beta. It was a clever play on words but it wasnt a lie.

  4. Slash the media whore knows he screwed up with all of the negative shit he through out in the press for years, destroying Axl's image while building his own.

Nice of you to give Slash so much credit, but Axl didnt need alot of help destroying his own image.

Fortunately, Axl cares more about music and honestly than being a celebrity and didn't give in to this childish nonsense.

yeh man, Axl said fuck the bourgeois! Not like he hangs out with celebs drinking Cristal in his mansion or anything.

Slash knows that GNR is all he will ever be remembered for,

Thats a bad thing ? cuz Im thinkin thats all Axl will be remembered for too.......

Axl knows that he wants to work with innovative musicians, not by the books rock n roll players, who put no creativity or imagination in their work.

Innovative musicians, or paid session musicians? who took the better part of a decade to make an album just to have their parts rerecorded by other paid session musicians. It doesnt take alot of imagination to cover someone elses work.

  5. So the play and show Estranged in the report.

    Funny :P

haha, I thought so too. They play a song and show the guitarist that people arent going to see or hear. I guess they couldnt find any footage of the current band thats performing.

yeah, you failed to see that in 80% of that music video they show Axl

Was it too hard to find !00%? Or maybe something with a guy who hasnt been in the band for like 15 years? Not complaining or anything , its always good to see what a great band it was.

  6. I like this look alot. His best yet. Loving the hair the hat the bandana and the moustache. The clothes and jewelry are basically the same as '06-'07, but without the braids it looks much better.

  7. what do you think ?

Aside from concerts, Axl doesn't care about promotion. Why should anyone else?

it just does my head-in , guns are touring they're headlining leeds and reading here in the uk and no radio station will play any new stuff !

ive been texting bbc radio 1 since it was announced asking them to play chinese democracy and they wont, so i thought if we can get them into the charts then maybe they will start playing guns !!

Ya cant blame the radio stations. They play what their audience wants to hear and what gets them the most listeners. A couple of people demanding any song from CD is a waste of time because a majority of the other listeners arent interested.

  8. So the play and show Estranged in the report.

    Funny :P

haha, I thought so too. They play a song and show the guitarist that people arent going to see or hear. I guess they couldnt find any footage of the current band thats performing.

  9. There are two sides to every story.

You would do well to remember that next time you feel the need to solicit your own opinions about Slash.

Thank God the US legal system doesn't share your penchant for taking the one side of the story and making a judgement based on that.

    Ali

Yea Thank God, which is why my statements were made on a forum about a rock band from the 1980's and not on a forum about the United States judicial system and contract law.

  10. Propably this thing will be settled before....These management problems are however a little bit distressing....hopefully it does not get in the way of further touring!

Just another person Axl can blame, and another management relationship for him that crashed and burned.. People were giddy with excitement when Axl first announced Azoff was representing, now its fuck him and his oral agreement, LOL, as if one of the most powerful and well respected men in the industry would file frivilous lawsuits and burn bridges if he didnt have a clue on how this business works. At least Slash can't be blamed for this one.

  11. $

He was trying to sell his book.

this was well after the book came out, and who was he trying to sell it to? hardcore gnr fans, most of us who want it, have it, and we all know what it is anyways, pictures of the first 50 gigs with some random notes, marc stirring up controversy amongst us isnt going to sell more pictures of 86' gnr.

you act like it was a tell all. that i would agree with.

I dont think it matters much how long the book was out, doesnt mean you stop trying to hock it to anyone who would pay attention or be even remotely interested in a book about a band from 25 years ago.

where else would he go to try and drum up some extra sales, a P Diddy forum? A tell all book gets hype automatically. Slash didn't come on here trying to pawn his, he didn't need to.

Izzy apperently isn't entitled to any opinion on the subject, whether or not he even offered one, since he was no longer in the band.........

guess that leaves us all out of the discussion as well, since none of us were ever in the band, yet opinions still fly, dont they. Slash was still in the band though, but some peoples opinions (even though they werent in the bad just like Izzy wasnt, right?) are that his version are lies, looks like that just leaves Axls version. ohh, I see where this is going. So glad we cleared it up.

  12. i honestly always wondered why he came on like that and said what he did.. what was his motivation?

    $

He was trying to sell his book.

i dont know, i dont want to twist his words or fit them into contexts where they dont belong, that was never my intention. it still seems pretty basic to me.

1.marc says he lied about axl.

2.then why would you believe slash about axl?

    thats it.

so we should believe Marc why? Hes friends with both Axl and Slash, invited both to his sons barmitvah. Fans have assciated him to be closer with Slash in the past but that doesnt mean thats where his loyalty actually lies. People don't normally talk smack about their best friend without cause. Maybe it was a businnes decision? Stir some controversy, get people interested in his book. Maybe he and Slash had some sort of falling out at the time? Maybe to set the record straight for the fine folks on mygnr? Would be very nice of him, but also seems doubtful.

"reckless road" is signed on here everyday yet offers no further insight on anything, other than when he was doing promo for his book.

  13. I said that I thought the setlist was short, I never criticized the band or anyone who said they had a great time.

The biggest problem is that the people who really cares about the short set, are the one who weren't there.

I dont get that line of thinking. You didnt have to be there to have an opinion. Lots of people werent around when original Guns were a real band, not employees, wrote and played their own material not cover someone elses, and ruled the world, yet plenty of people voice their opinions on the topic.

Its good the couple of members who post here enjoyed the show. What was attendance, 50,000? Whos to say the other 49, 996 people didn't leave feeling slightly disappointed? Even if you were at the show, you cant speak for everyone there.
