  1. Welcome to the Jungle wasn't all that great, looked like Axl could've used an oxygen tank.

This I Love was absolutely fantastic. Street of Dreams was better than I thought it was going to be, not as pitchy and squeaky as it normally sounds live.

And November Rain sounded like Axl was whispering, and distorting his voice, rather than singing.

Even with all that said, this would've been a pretty cool show to attend, as would any GN'R show.

    Thanks for posting these links!

This I Love and street of dreams were definatly the best of the 4. november rain got better and better throughout, He seemed to be loosing breath a lil on jungle, really should have proshotted leeds. he was on fire at leeds, from start to finish, jungle was epic.

  2. http://www.nme.com/news/guns-n-roses/52742

Guns N' Roses' Axl Rose last night (August 27) declared that the band will not play Leeds Festival tomorrow (August 29), after the plug was pulled on the band's late-running Reading Festival show.

Video footage of the frontman making the declaration at the end of the Reading set has emerged online watch it by scrolling down and clicking below.

Rose said: "Unfortunately due to tonight we will not be at Leeds, although we will try and play a bit more now."

However, today a Reading And Leeds Festivals spokesperson told NME that the band were still scheduled to headline at Leeds.

Last night at Reading Guns N' Roses came onstage an hour late. Later they attempted to keep playing without full amplification after the plug was pulled on them.

Festival chief Melvin Benn said: "After failing to take to the stage at the scheduled 9.30pm (BST) time, the performance started at 10.30pm and the band were given permission by the festival to play 30 minutes extra to its scheduled 11.30pm finish until midnight."

He added: "Guns N' Roses wanted to 'extend' the new agreed curfew past midnight but were prevented from doing so in order to comply with the entertainment licence issued by Reading Borough Council."

    Also, more to confirm

    Tommy Stinson Twitter:

unless you know something i don't. i'm fuckin playing leeds tomorrow.lol

  3. Bumblefoot's last facebook update:

(Leeds: Axl/management will let ya know if there's gonna be any definite change of plans...) This is the kinda crazy shit I need, I feel fukkin good - party hoppin with my bandmates for the last 6 hours. Love you

    Hope is not yet lost.

  4. No GNR stream tonight...

WTF is wrong with GNR managment???!

I don't think this has got anything to do with GNR management.

It's everything to do with them.

They can only allow the footage to be released.

The BBC's problem is they promote showing the bands before getting the rights.

But let's not jump the gun, that tweet was from BBC radio, maybe it will still be shown on TV

That's what you assume, but you don't know any facts of this specific situation. What about technical problems? In case you didn't notice, BBC is livestreaming with a delay of 3,5 hours. Maybe that is the reason and maybe that is also the reason why BBC 'hope to show some GNR at some point'. Don't make turn this great evening into another 'I hate what GNR does to it's fans - bullshit topic' PLEEAAASEEEEEE!!!!!!

Dude, if it was about timing, you wouldnt cut the headliners off the show

  5. :rofl-lol: oh jees, just watched the news here, thing came on about leeds, first thing the reporter said was

"Some big acts at leeds this year, guns n roses headlining on sunday, obviously no slash in the band, but still a big name"

    :rofl-lol:

  6. From GNR facebook- If you live in the UK you'll be able to see live footage of GnRs set at the leeds/Reading Festival on BBC 3 also highlights on Radio 1- (which should be accessable to other countries online).

Get the fuck in. Gonna have friends over to watch it rock3

Nice to see GnR's Facebook mention it. Ill be tuning in rock1

  7. Se I guess the shows are cancelled because Axls twitter says so?

hold on a sec, gotta inform everyone on my facebook about it.

I know, its kinda ironic that the axl nut swingers on here always say " unless its said by axl i dont believe it " well this is direct from Axl and now they choose to not believe it lol

They must love being spoon fed bullshit

    +1

If Axl didn't say it, I don't believe it... Oh I don't like what this says, it CAN'T be Axl that said it!!

STFU. Its not like we pulled this hack shit out of our asses. I beleived it really was cancelled, until several soures, including Managment and Bumblefoot said the tour was on, and it was a hack.

  8. So you think it's 100% impossible that Axl cancelled the whole thing for a random reason and then cooled down and changed his mind ?

I mean...He did such things in the past didn't he ? :shrugs:

Yeah, these things have happened, but why does everyone ignore the fact twhat he was out with Ashba at the time? you all just miss that, because you appear to want it to be him?

He couldnt have, when he was out with DJ. he probably just doesnt want anything to do with it, thats why the message isnt down, cos he cba to remove it?

  9. I'd say chances of the tweet being fake (via hacker) are pretty high.

Look at all of the other tweets by Axl: Twitter for iPhone

Look at the most recent one: Mobile web.

That, alone, doesn't pass the smell test.

Yep. I doubt it's real, although I wouldn't be that surprised if it was written by Axl.

This will probably mean that Axl will delete his Twitter account permanently. Not that it matters much cause he doesn't use it anymore really.

Who knows, maybe hes not been using it because of a problem with it? i hope he still uses it, was good throughout south america when he kept updating us, seemed sureal in the gnr world.

  10. On his day, but you have to also understand that sometimes he is clearly going through the motions and it takes a while for his voice to find his feet. I mean, back in the day I think his performances were incredible regardless of his vocals because there was so much power and energy, but these days a patchy vocal can sound alot more noticably weak. Admittedly this is few and far between where it actually detracts from the performance noticably in the venue and youtube is a bit of a bastard for those kind of things. Axl was untouchable back in the day and there were alot more classic frontmen present back then, now as you say, it is somewhat of a dying art so he definitely stands out.

On a similar note, could anyone post some videos from this tour where Axl is totally on fire? Top notch vocals, showmanship etc. I am sure there are plenty I just want to show some mates how good he can still be.

(Defo gets better throughout, listen to BBF solo!)

    Just a few ;)

  11. Don't know, I'm going to go with the Planet Rock presale tomorrow to be on the safe side. On the one hand they may not sell out quick because of the "its not really Guns N' Roses" types on the other hand there are only three dates and it will have been over four years since their last dates which were very well received.

Although don't be disheartened as there are rumours of another show at The O2 pencilled in if the first sell out and if they all sell out pretty quick who's to say there won't be more shows?

Yhh, but do any of you know more specifically, like maybe how quickly the manchester gig sold out in 06?

  12. If Axl can't sing all of IRS, I doubt he could do even half of Coma. Anyway, if we're making room for newer songs, I wouldn't have much a problem with My Michelle and SCOM getting dropped. I know there is no way SC would ever get dropped from a set list, but it is their most over exposed song. It still plays about 3 times a day, every day, on my local classic rock station. I could go without it for a little bit and be just fine, I think. I think Catcher would be great to bring back. It was a mess in Asia, but the Canada performance was very good.

Yhh Sweet child wont get dropped. i think they should change that godamn start with Jungle ISE and brownstone, maybe jungle, shacklers, double talking jive, then ron could do some awesome solo off the end of double talking jive. then maybe drop live and let die for think about you. then add TWAT into the encore. that would be beautful. Then, once every leg, whip out estranged.

  13. one can hope it comming but just have to wait an see, no point in getting hopes up. im just waiting for concert in dec 4 thats got me pretty pumped.

Agreed. Im looking forward to Leeds, 29th august, will be immense, but, if theres no album by the time the tour stops. thats when things get a little worrying, we could just have another random 3 years off. I Think the worst thing to happen would be this tour ends, they have like 3 years off, then do another tour with no record behind them. i think the best thing to do would be announce the album as the tour wraps up, release it about 6 months after the tour, then maybe 6 months after that, they tour it.
