I think Axl does whatever the hell he wants, he didn't have things like drug addictions and he seems to be doing well financially.. he didn't really keep the name.. hes just always been in the band with that name why should he have to change the name just because the other members were more invested in their side projects

I get what you mean, the songs are mostly about getting shit after shit and being strong and loving through it all, especially IT'S and scraped. The dramatic intro and beautiful outro difinitley give the album a climatic feel too.

Yeah its great, even he says the songs have no direct meaning, they can mean many things to many different people. I imagine him writing a song with one person in mind and the realizing it relates to many others, a benefit of how the media treats him I suppose ( probably the only benefit too )
