  3. There was really no good that could've come from posting this. Every celebrity, band, athlete, etc. has to deal with this stuff, not just Guns N' Roses. It comes with the territory of being a popular public figure and it's a part of the world we live in. Who gives a fuck what people do with stuff they get signed? Once it's out of your hands, it's out of your hands. It just seems stupid to even talk about this.

And there's no doubt that this post directly relates to Axl. I'm not saying he wrote it, but these are definitely his sentiments. First there was the video of him cursing people off who were asking for autographs and then he Tweeted a few weeks ago how he hates eBayers who sell shit that he signs. I really don't understand why he cares so much about this issue considering there are like 400 other things that should be garnering his attention.

Basically. If he put his energy into writing and recording tracks instead of trivial stuff like this he could be so much more productive. Sometimes I think it's a way to distract from havin to talk about a new album or take subject away from fact they've no new album but that may be overanalysing haha but this band will have you doing that!!

  4. How can he sing like in Philly one minute then back to less rasp the next. He must be doing it on purpose for reasons only known to him. Having said that, he still sounds damn good!

Axl is doing it on purpose but his vocal chords have very little to do with it. For the most part, Axl's voice sounds raspy with the exception of the obvious songs such as Brownstone. What a lot of people claim to be the "Micky Mouse" voice is not what it seems. Whether it is sound compression based on vocal pressure through the mic or some other sound technology........ It seems that this type of thing gets adjusted based on his vocal condition and the song being played. I guess whatever gives out the best sound at the time. This topic was bought up on several forums during the 2006 tour in Europe. That being said, Axl is the best live vocalist and frontman I have ever seen. (Layne Staley being a close 2nd). Amazingly, even today nobody touches him in terms of overall performance along with the band as a whole. Just wanted to clear up the whole Mickey Mouse nonsense......Axl doesn't sound like that without a mic.

    This!

Nikki Sixx was going to the show but he left because Axl was late (as usual) :rofl-lol:

    Well done Nikki!

    How do you know this?

  5. I'm home from the show. Can't remember the setlist but if you look at the Miami Fillmore show, they played the exact same songs except the order a few songs were changed. One example was Shackler's Revenge was played between Civil War and KOHD. But yeah, all the songs were the same. We left before the encore because my lady friend was passing out and I was tired of holding her up, so I don't know what was played in the encore.

Few notes from the VIP Balcony:

    - Didn't see Charlie Sheen. If he was there, he wasn't in VIP. The entire VIP seating section was annoyingly reserved for what I believe to be a gigantic group of people associated with Fernando. A bunch of young 20-somethings, women barely dressed. Just about everyone drunk before the show started and they all took FREQUENT trips to the bathroom throughout the show. For what? I dare not speculate. I only saw Fernando (or who I believe to be Fernando, could be wrong) near the end of the show when he went up to talk to a few people.

    - Nikki Sixx showed up with Ashba while the opening band was playing. Sixx disappeared before GNR came on, probably went backstage. Aside from that, biiggest celebrity sightings in VIP were....wait for it...Simon Rex and the lead singer from Puddle of Mudd (if it wasn't him, it was his twin brother. Dude looked EXACTLY LIKE HIM. I could be wrong though, but if that was the Puddle of Mudd dude, he's is looking a bit haggard these days). Yeah, not exactly A-listers.

    - Axl made a joke about how he put a sign on his hotel room door that said "Don't bother, I'm already disturbed" or something like that. Couldn't quite make it out. Also, he said "fucking" a lot tonight. He introduced everyone like...DJ FUCKING Ashba, Ron FUCKING Thal, Frank FUCKING Ferrar, and joked after the introductions that everyone's middle name tonight was "fucking".

    - Stop bitching about new songs. Almost nobody at the shows wants to hear them. This I Love and Sorry couldn't have possibly been met with anymore silence than they were. Even songs that they've been playing since 06 (Street of Dreams) just don't garner that much of a reaction. People want to hear the old songs and Axl seems much more comfortable singing those.

    - The band was OK, not as good as I've heard them in the past, but they all look like they're having fun. That's been the case at every Nu-GNR show I've been too. I think DJ Ashba has been a great addition for band chemistry. He seems to get along really well with the guys (BTW, he did make a couple of appearances in the VIP Balcony, once before the show and once during Dizzy's solo to talk to his girlfriend or whoever).

    - Despite that, I can say with some certainty after seeing Slash perform it twice and Nu-GNR perform it twice, that Slash's band absolutely destroys Nu-GNR when it comes to playing Civil War.

    - People really started filing out after November Rain. By the end of Nighttrain, a big chunk of the back of the floor was empty and people were just scattered about. Can't blame them. GNR didn't take the stage until about 12:30. Ridiculous.

Would be great to see vid of this!

  6. axl knows that if he ever did a full reunion, even just for one night at an awards ceremony, whatever credibility the new band has established would instantly be lost. and considering they're at their strongest right now since, um, ever, in terms of critical and audience response to their shows, i'm not surprised at all that he wouldn't play a few songs.

having said that, if the new band had been properly presented and supported over the years rather than just appearing when it's time to tour, etc. - even if they'd done a single damn official photoshoot or anything - i don't think the situation would be as fragile. it's the fact that over the years the legacy of the original GN'R lineup only became stronger, while the new lineup never broke into the pop culture consciousness. the average joe just doesn't know who the current members are, regardless of how talented they are, and that's why axl reuniting with slash in particular would instantly demolish any further chances they have.

Other than positive press what exactely has the new band established? If you tell me that Axl will finally move foward and properly promote a band album then I may agree with you.

As of right now they are doing what they always do...tour.

Throw the world a bone and bang out a song or 2 with your old friends. Release a statement saying that you are exactely doing that and after the HOF there will continue to be no old gnr. Its not that big of a deal. You would think he would want to just jam with the old lineup. Life is short. No one is asking for a re union just asking for 1 night to celebrate the past. Not sure why this is life and death. Someone enlighten me

    This!

  7. Looks like DJ really wants to stop touring and make a new GNR album.

DJ is already frustrated. He wont last. Thank god.

I have to agree with this except I hope Dj stays coz he and Axl have good chemistry onstage and I think that'll translate to the studio. Dj's enthusiastic now but wait 3 years and still no new album and I wonder how he's gon feel! Is Dj forgetting they were off the road for nearly the whole of last year? Axl had nearly all of 2011 off the road to start recording or finishing off etc.. and didn't collabrate or write with any of the new guys. Nothing was done in all that time and only Axl knows why coz I'm sure all the guys would've gone in the studio in 2011 if Axl had asked them. I love Axl and enjoy seeing the band out touring but it's gonna be 2015 and still no new album.

  8. My two favorite bands (FNM and Gn'R), it's a fucking dream. Still, I can't see this happening. Mike Patton doesn't like Axl and he will probably bash him during the show.

Why? What has he said about him do you know?

    http://www.mygnrforum.com/index.php?showtopic=90332

    He hates him alright. :xmasssanta:

Well, Mike hates a lot of people anyway lol

EDIT : I just love Mike's reaction when he's told that Axl wants to make GnR more "industrial".

    Cool read. Thanks!
