  1. Thanks for the update. However, if I feel like discussing something, I will discuss it. If I choose to not discuss it here, that should be out of respect to the people who run this site and not because Axl threatens the very people who spend their time and effort to run a fansite about him. If he has a legal problem with people stealing his private and business correspondence and intellectual property he should drag those responsible to court and have them put to justice. And if he's got an image problem, he should call it by its real name and not try to solve it by shutting up the hardcore fans. Is that the same Axl who wrote an essay about freedom and went to moon and back for his own integrity? The more I hear, the less I listen. Again, thanks for the update. It tells me that the mods do not censor fans, Axl himself does. And it also tells me every single word MSL said was the truth.

  2. Nevermind < Superunknown

OK Computer < A New Stereophonic Sound Spectacular, Dummy or Mezzanine

    Ten < Vs.

Achtung Baby - should be #1

Morning Glory - right where it belongs

    Siamese Dream < Throwing Copper

Black Album < Rage Against The Machine

Grace < To Bring You My Love

Mellon Collie < Jar Of Flies

    UYI - too 80's for the 90's?

  3. Then leave. You have no fucking idea what you're on about. God this shit is painful to try and deal with.

How about giving him an idea if you think he has none?

I understand it's quite a task to moderate around the "don't wake Axl up" calls but how does that put you in the position of telling those who ask questions and voice criticism to leave because they don't know it better due to the mods very own no-info-at-all policy?

Sad to see how this band is dividing people instead of bringing them together.

  4. There is nothing cool about Buckethead except his ability to play guitar.

Truer words have never been spoken.

But that's the thing I guess? He could look like a camel inside a horse's ass but people would still love him. His playing is that good, and in the end, that's all that should matter.

    This.

I do agree though that a lot of Bucket's solo albums are crap, filled with stupid voice overs and often the music is just nonsense that is going nowhere. He is still amazing with the instrument and I love 2-3 of his albums.

Buckethead puts out up to four albums in one year, some of them might not even qualify being actual music. But if I get a "Colma" or "Population Override" every once in a while that's good enough for me.

  5. Bumble is in skill many times better than Bucket. They day Bucket can play a fretless even 1% of how Bumble plays it, I will consider staking skill up against each other.

Check out their acoustic works, that's where you can really hear a guitarist, just flesh and wood, no sound effect voodoo whatsoever, just the fingers. Buckethead destroys Ron.

  6. Ron could probably play everything Bucket can play but it will never sound as good. He uses too much compression, not enough treble and he doesn't let the music breath, much too tight. He'd be better of in a band like Soundgarden, something more grunge. I don't care who's the better speed shredder or the nicer person of the two. Buckethead SOUNDS better. He's irreplaceable.

  7. Rubin also produced the Cheryl Crow SCOM track, didn't he? Didi Axl ever forgive him for that? LOL!

Come to think of it, Sheryl Crow would be an awesome producer, she produced her second album and The Globe Sessions and these sound pretty boss, vocals, guitars and the drum sound were awesome on these albums. Her guitarist Peter Stroud is pretty soundsmart too, he would blend well with Richard for a less flashy and more classy and vintage oriented sound.

That said, I'd LOVE to hear what DJ would produce.

Look what it takes DJ to build up momentum in a solo, shitloads of flashy stuff just to get his point across, yet he can't even handle a wah wah properly. A GNR album produced by him would be a nightmare.

  8. Definitely NOT Rick Rubin.

Listen to Californication or Death Magnetic to hear how Rubin can make

    really bad sounding records.

I'd be interested to hear what Axl would produce with Brendan O' Brien or Bob Rock.

Cali sounds fantastic, Death Magnetic doesn't suck because of Rubin but because of those morons behind the insturments. Listen to the first Audioslave produced by Rick Rubin, crisp and powerful, one of the best albums ever.

Brendan O' Brien the music doesn't breath with him. He's the reason Pearl Jam's bootlegs are better than their studio recordings, he strangled Superunknown, he burried RATM and Bruce Springsteen with his muddy production and he ruined the last Audioslave with the vocals on top. The guy is beyond hearing impared and should never put a foot into any studio ever again.
