The fact Slash said there would be reworked songs released as well as the Use Your Illusion Box set is what gives me hope. He did the classic rock interview which I have. Can anyone remind me the other interview he did where these releases were discussed?

How do you know? Have you heard every version of it he ever recorded? Every single drum take?
Steven said it wasn't him & Frank when asked said it was a question for management. It has been redone.

In 24 hours we'll know. Will see what goes live in New Zealand at midnight Friday.
Could be next Friday…
or the one after that…

Oh. Well the 2 songs from last year could've been considered flops and low sales but they don't seem to really care. It just needs proper promotion, that's all.
Or does it?
It’s out. I enjoy it.
The reworked releases won’t be for everyone..especially the fans that literally buy tickets to hear sweet child & November Rain. I think the technique is just get them out for the fans (like us) that want to hear them and try to minimise the tabloid crap.
You have to remember there’s a dichotomy between what hard core fans want and the casual fan.
My guess is if an album was released and the next tour was advertised as a direct promotion for that album it would actually have a negative effect on ticketsales..Its why so many big acts just don’t bother anymore.

What do you mean?
There’s a lot of pressure on releasing an album. If reworked songs are released one at a time it avoids headlines such as “flop” & “low sales” etc.
The less something is built up the less distance to fall..

That's what I'm thinking too. The UYI set is more for hardcore fans and collectors anyway. A new album won't prevent sales of the UYI set and vice versa.
I can’t see it being a new album. Slash spoke of songs..
Call me cynical but perhaps the drip feed technique is to avoid the review process.

Hm... The more I think about it... It just doesn't make sense to release new music/album, with the illusion box coming out right before the holiday season...
Although, the Slash interview in classic rock clearly stated that new songs were to be released as well as the box set.

Another year of touring? Seriously?
You don’t think so?
I’m convinced..and Glasgow will be part of the summer plans.

My source confirmed that the double-EP (CD leftovers and cover songs from 2016-present) isn't a part of UYI release but will be announced around the same time. Axl pushed for it and it was a concession the lable had to make in order to cash in on the past.
Edit: but this is gnr, so who the hell knows....
I mean this seems like a logical move.
The slightly strange release tactic of the last two songs would indicate a want to get things out without too much fanfare..Drop the news of Use Your Illusions box set and randomly drop some new songs..Make some profit off the new songs with a physical release & exclusive options for the fan club 2023.
This would all lend itself nicely to another year of touring…2023 dates I’m sure will be announced at the end of the year when peoples fan club subscription is due.

When are the renewals of Nightrain due?
My guess is if songs are imminent it’ll be around the time of 2023 show announcements & membership renewals.

Have watched more of this, I’ve been a staunch defender of Axl in recent years but he does not sound good here, in any way. As I said earlier, he did proclaim to be sick, so that is a mitigating factor. Was reminiscent of London night 2, but worse. I think it was a struggle for him throughout.
What a crowd though.
I was at london both nights and I can testify he was much worse London night 2 than this.
I’m actually loving watching this performance. Sure the vocal isn’t his best but he’s giving it his all and the band sound amazing.
You know the guy is 60. You can’t turn the clock back. In comparison to some other singers (Jon Bon Jovi for example) he’s actually fairing pretty well.
When you’re in your 20’s and doing weird & wonderful things with your voice..you’re not thinking “how will I do this when I’m drawing out my pension”.
His voice is still there at points. Let’s just hope we get more studio work at some point.
To critique him after every show is a waste of time.

Frank has never been good. Ever.
Great guy, but average at best drummer. Having a solid drummer is what’s been missing for years. A lot of the songs have felt flat for a long time because of him. DTJ, YCBM, Those are drum based songs and they are pretty awful with him drumming.
Matt Sorum is that you? 🤣

I thought this at the 3 shows I saw in the summer. I guess it’s just reality.
I’ve really enjoyed the Rio show. Listening to it on headphones the band sound amazing. I don’t see why there’s so much hate for Frank personally. I think he’s changed his approach a lot to accommodate for this line up. Sounds solid to me.

Guns N’Roses comes up top artist for me on “state of grace” on Spotify in UK. Nothing on Atlas.

Excellent video.
I can’t see why The Custom Edition is so much more.

Wonder if Josh might be considered as new Foo Fighters drummer.
Absolutely zero reason to suggest he would be…just a thought.

Starting to get a bit concerned…the lack of info is worrying

Let’s just hope there’s not a covid outbreak in the camp. If slash’s partner has picked it up it could easily spread.
