  1. I always get a kick out of the subtle homo jokes whenever Axl's appearance is brought up. There is nothing gay about men talking about how another man looks. When it is "that guy looks like such a bad ass" it's fine. But when it is "he kind of looks fat and has weird style" it's gay. Nonsense. His look has always been a huge part of his persona. It is a valid topic point. It gets a little too in depth sometimes, but that's stalker creepy, not gay.

I don't agree. I haven't discussed his looks, or the looks of any other musician, no matter what shape they were in. He could come out at 560 pounds in a tutu and I would still spend my time concentrating on what he sounded like. To each their own, I guess.

That might disappoint Axl considering how much he has worked on his look through the years.

I don't see it being too much of a challenge to throw on the same clothes every day.

Maybe not now, but earlier he has been pretty much begging people to pay attention to his style. And it was awesome.

  3. Very weird to not announce an opener and still tell people to show up at 8... I saw Broski asked about it on Twitter yesterday and they were really vague about it and didn't say anything.

    gunsnroses Guns N' Roses

@broskirose1 remember its not how you start but how finish

Uhm ok... By the way, Guns just asked Jimmy Fallon to come to the show. Wonder what that is about.

  4. Back on this topic again? Honestly?? :xmassrudolph:

For some reason, the MYGNR community (The majority of which are male.) loves to discuss Axl's looks. I don't get it either.

To be fair, the opening post was about his look and not his looks. Axl is probably the rockstar out there most famous for his look, from the 80's style through the cool UYI look, which he must've worked hard on, up until the ridiculous '02 look, Axl has always been a celebrity you could dress up as at a hallowen party because of his very worked out looks. Since he has really worked on his different looks through the years, it is not all that weird that the latest gets discussed.

  5. Great interview! And also great interviewer, he seemed to know what he was talking about. Bumble seemed strangely reluctant to answer certain good questions though, like how Estranged got into the setlist. "Axl just wants to play it I guess". I thought Ron was proud of getting Estranged back in the set.

  6. 2001-2002 was just awful in terms of looks I think. 2006 was ok, but the braids and some of the clothes were just WEIRD.

2010 and 2011 is spot on I think. He really looks like a true rock icon again!

No, I don't agree, the moustache got to go, he should get rid of those few extra pounds and I don't like most of his clothes as well.

By the way, his 2006 look was way better, even with the braids, loved that look

Agreed. His clothes fit him so great in 2006 and there were even some really sexy photos of him with his shirt off and just a cool, tight jacket from those days.

Leather jackets are cool and all, but with a too large one, half zipped up with a large white t-shirt under it's more the look of a Yugoslavian drug lord (or Tony Soprano for that matter) than a rockstar. And those hats and glasses just make you not recognize him. The Gene Simmons story reached the biggest news paper of my country today and people keep commenting on that Axl looks unrecognizable. And not in a good way... I've kinda gotten used to it but takes some time.

(And oh, I care just a little bit because I am a female and Axl used to be so sexy in my eyes)

  7. I doubt an album is on the way in the foreseeable future.

I still think releasing the leftover material would be a mistake. The US barely took to CD. More of the same doesn't seem to have much appeal to people this time around. Especially how there's not really much surrounding the next album like there was for CD. How it would do outside the US is a toss up, but I personally don't think we would see a 3.5 million if it's just like CD. Just my opinion of course.

Id say release the leftovers as a boxset of some sorts, and have the next album be with the current lineup. How long it would take, who knows? I'm not holding my breath. But I doubt it will be 2012.

I agree. I respect that some people on here liked CD, and of course it would be cool if the remainder of the material was released for the fans, but generally people (including me) didn't like that sound and releasing more of it would just eject GN'R even more to irrelevancy.

  8. On the message boards at Ticketmaster.com, fans have been praising Guns N' Roses performances but bemoaning the start times. About the Oct. 29 show in Miami, one concertgoer wrote, "Although the music was great … They made everyone wait for over two hours before coming on stage, that was rediculous (sic)!"

Nov. 2 in Atlanta: "They didn't come on until 10:45 and played till 2 a.m. on a weeknight, and they played more new stuff than old. They need to realize their audience is as old as they are and have to work the next day. Half the audience (that was still there) was snoozing."

What the hell? Why quote the one bad review from Atlanta, all the other reviews are completely raving about that show. And that they played more new stuff than old is a complete lie too, I mean 5 out of 30?

  9. Once Axl rejected Slash's songs, the band as we knew it was over. They stopped compromising. They just became older, wealthier, and stopped giving a shit about each others' opinions & suggestions. But the real dislike towards Slash seemed to happen much after that. I think there was something Slash said in an interview that Axl responded to, something about when they first became famous, but can't remember what it was.

What songs are you talking about here? Because in Duff's book he says both him and Axl didn't like those songs that Slash came up with in '95 or so.

  10. Thanks! The super awesome person who uploaded the interview filmed from the TV screen should delete his videos now, it's really confusing to try and find the next part of this because of it.
