Well I just checked his profile for fun and it said he was last active on Oct. 30 so maybe he's been checking on the forum.
Somebody probably sent him a friend request that day. He has it set to auto accept and that shows up as activity on his part.
Nope, it doesn't. The date was set on the beginning of the year earlier, like January, and then the account was "hacked" in October and after that somebody logged in again a few times.

I don't even get why any of you would say he is even a little bit bald. There's hair all over his head goddammit.

I am a little bummed that Axl now has the posture of an old man. But I guess that is life.
... I don't remember him ever having a good posture?
yes I kind of thought about that too after I posted.
-
Absolutely positive that Axl and GN'R would be more respected today if the band in 2002 wouldn't have had that freak image. Axl's own image was also a problem but I think it was enhanced by the rest of the band.

Bumblefoot
Tossin' around the idea of going to LA for a week in mid-January. Hmmmmm...
Isn't this rather proof that there are NO PLANS?
Doesn't mean there are no plans at all for this year, just maybe no plans in January.
I just meant as an answer to those OP who thought the trip to LA was "a sign". I think it sounds more like a sign of nothing going on for GN'R in January rather than recording going on.

Axl's Voice
in 2012
If the 3 hours are the problem, then they shouldn't be playing for 3 hours. Longer is not always better, and when it comes to concerts 3 hours + openers + delays are exhausting to say the least, and probably only preferable for hardcore fans. If a 2 hour show could be done with a great voice there is no excuse for not doing it.
-
Don't get why he would say that about 99,9 percent of reviews, he's making people think they are all bad when that is not the case.
-
I think Axl has proved that his voice can still sound like his old self just listen to the Back in the Saddle cover he did with Bach.
Damn, I had actually never paid attention to that song. Why doesn't he ever sing like that? Sounds awesome! The vocals on CD is one of the reasons to why I don't like that album. Figured Axl tried to "sound Axl" but couldn't really do it the same way anymore but THESE vocals are awesome.

He already wasted 15 million dollars of theirs, I think it is safe to say they can take anything.

You can't compare that stream with this one either way.

I wonder if Axl gets a little starstruck by these dudes? Or if he at least makes an effort.
I kinda doubt it as he's met so many big stars over the years
Yes, maybe starstruck isn't the right term. But those guys were right up there in the very top in the 90's and Axl's star has kind of faded. I wonder if that is a factor in any way.
Edit: Who is the woman?

i don't like them, not true professionals
They haven't taken the Music Management school? I am sure many established music managers haven't...Whether people are professional in that position depends on how well they do their job, and after 20 years with Axl it could very well be that they are more than up for the task.
They have expertise in a wide range of areas including contract law, accounting/finance, management, and importantly, people skills.
And the right connections! In my mind this is like your average middle-aged woman up against Ari Gold types. She might have been with GNR for a long while, but she would have had more credibility if she had managed smaller band and worked her way up that way.
Connections. That's a good point. The bad thing is that you've heard how Axl and co. have burned a lot of bridges of the past few years with managers, execs, etc..
And that is why Axl needs an "Ari Gold" and not a lady who has learned the whole business through the eyes of Axl Rose.

Any clips yet except Rosie? Preferably pro-shot, of course!

Surprised most of you seem happy with the interview. Personally I feel like it is a few steps back. Firing management again, Beta taking over, talking shit about Slash and then blaming others for everything in the very last sentence.
-
but anyway, since she has been managing the band we have had a US tour, constant Facebook updating with info and photos, a decent Twitter feed, occasional Youtube videos, a new website in the making, a TV interview, an evolving setlist to keep to what the fans want (during 3hour shows!) and a band who look happy together are enjoying their gigs and getting better and better.
sounds like she is doing well to me
That was Peter Katsis. She has only been in charge the last few weeks.

How can a Seattle crowd be lame when Duff is involved?
-
Anyone who thinks Ashba looks like Slash clearly has absolutely no fashion sense. He might have a hat - yes. It is not even a similar hat and 50 percent of celebrities wear hats. As for hair color - Slash has natural black hair and Ashba dyes his, it is a completely different look. Ashba wears tons of make up whereas Slash is totally natural. Ashba has tattoos all over his body, including his neck, it is a pretty "modern" rock look, emo or newer metal or wherever it comes from. Slash is a 70's dude. Not even DJ's stage clothes have any similarities with Slash's. I just think you are all revealing how little clue you have when it comes to style

Dinner could mean anything. It could mean 50 or 100 or 20 people were involved.

Why is Axl so much more affable these days? If he is or wasn't back then.
Good question. He's older? Wiser? With a more secure support system? Or maybe he's just not getting out as much.
He was always affable... until he wasn't. That was day to day. I think it took him awhile to adjust to the fame and power, figure out who was loyal, who was just there for the ride, adjusting to people's attitudes changing towards him. With the Matt era, the pressure of the sophomore effort after such a huge debut was tough as was the Stephanie thing and then the Erin/Stephanie thing. It was pretty harsh. He was pretty unhinged around that period.
Right now he is no longer in a position to be dealing with as much indulgence and idolatry as in the past. Earth to Axl.
And the family thing. Divorcing the family was whack, but hey, it may well have been the ticket. Like it or not, the mother/manager thing with Beta obviously works. Its the most stable life he's ever had.
Edited to add that I have no idea how volatile things may be behind the scenes the last few years. He seems well insulated, but he's gone through a lot of managers, label strife, Best Buy, etc. Can't be that calm, lol!
So you were around in the old days?

So fucking beautifully put.

Some of you guys are weird. The current guitarists get some respect for once and you are dissatisfied with the fact that they did not credit the previous guitarists instead, so that New GN'R once again could be portrayed as a band with revolving doors where the current guitarists are no names who have not contributed.
