But I, for instance love both bands, obviously the old band more so.

IMO, there is some truth to that. He sounded great when I heard him in 2011 in ATL, GA. But alot of the youtube videos didnt sound as great.........

I started to think alot of the streams that come from the soundbord audio lack the live real time effects used on his voice. But when your there, you hear his voice after it has applied processing.

Outside of disliking CD, I've sen a good deal of hate and bashing toward the actual members of the band, not toward their abilities but towards them in general--calling them hacks and scabs, mocking them as "The Employees", etc, almost as if the people who dislike them dislike them on a sort of personal level. If you dislike any of the members of GN'R who have been in the band since 1997, why do you dislike them? I mean criticizing a guy's playing or ability is one thing, which comes down to taste, which is totally subjective, but I've never understood the need to hate the band members as people, I mean for example the way people hate Dizzy and Bumblefoot in particular. I mean, I think Bumblefoot's gimmick is cheesy and that he's not as good as Bucket was and may not be good for GN'R (yet to be seen, really) but I don't hate him as a person.

I dont dislike anyone in the nuBand, They all get the job done and seem like cool peeps. That been said, there is one exception, and his name is DJ Ashba. He just cheses me out. It all looks and feels put on. He does the easier Slash stuff ok (minus the garbage he calls a bend), but his stage antics are to much...... Still not a deal breaker for

e though. I will go see this band when they are around and always be a fan of Axl Rose, the performer, but certainly not his unprofessionalism and lack of respect for paying customers.

Bottom line is, whether you admit it or not, MOST people are casual music fans who lile PC and SCOM, and have no idea about the Axl late starts. I cant beleive that this is even an argument.

The only part of the GNR show , I recently saw, that was cringeworthy was Dizzy's solo......He is hardly a good piano player. He gets the job done , but ask him to play something like the piano part in Jessica by the Allman Bros., and watch him squirm. He is mediocre at best. I can play better than him and I dont even consider myself a piano player.

He became a piano player when it was just cool to throw a piano guy in with the rockers to clank around (see every song he plays on), and he is just not up to speed with most pros.

I think the biggest problems with Finck, Thal and Buckethead is that their ideas were overdeveloped by Axl's. I really hope the next album you hear more organic sounds from Ashba, Fortus and Thal. None of that comped shit.

That is my only real beef with CD. How can you call it a band effort, when Axl comped the solos. Thal, Bucket, and Fortus really didnt play any of that.....Axl used them like an MPC comped there solos and dropped it like Skillex. Yea, Im sure they feel part of the creative process, when what they record is flipped, chopped, and Axlfied.

Probably true, I think he's starting to fade away. He may have been hot shit during the GN'R era but now he is starting to become washed up. When people today think of a great guitarist they think of Jack White.

Slash isnt the greatest guitarist. That is very true. However, when we are talking about GNR and comparing GNR guitarists, he is the best fit, for GNR, and has WRITTEN the better back catalouge.
