But at this point why would Axl and TB care if Adler/Izzy made a few dollars?

If Axl has made between 75-100 million dollars on this tour, world he really prevent a release of something just to keep Adler from making maybe $100,000?

You'd think not but I also thought Slash would never tour without Izzy and Steven and play Chinese Democracy songs so hey, at this point I truly believe there's no limit to this band's greed lol. And thats their right, but yeah I feel integrity and just common decency went out the window long ago. This tour is the sad reality of that.

The situation reminds me of when Metallica released their Guitar Hero game years back; for the list of songs they used for the game (there's like forty Metallica tracks), they deliberately chose tracks that didn't include Dave Mustaine or Jason Newsted in the credits so the two wouldn't be owed royalties from the band's cut of the profits from the game.

All GNR imagry, like the iconic Appetite cross artwork likely belongs to Axl, so pimping out a load of shitty overpriced merch is all I'd expect instead of an album reissue.

I guess thats why they can shamelessly plug that Appetite cross anywhere and not deliberately try to take Izzy and Steven off of it. Cause thats kind of been a cornerstone merch item the whole tour, which seemed strange when they're not involved. Guess thats cause they don't make anything from it or it would have been nixed.

  3. Yeah, I figured it was probably bull, but you never know with this band and I have been out of the loop so its possible I missed it. This was what the guy had posted awhile back:

    "From July 18, 2017:

    The box set announcement is coming this week;
I haven't seen an updated breakdown but the initial version I saw a few months ago was configured as a 5 disc set
    Vinyl as well;
    Whole things looks great.
Release date is last week of October"

Just had to check. Never know who's heard about what.

  4. Apologies for being out of the loop here if this is a repeat. I haven't been on the forum very much at all since the reunion started back up (but caught 7 glorious shows this tour). On a Springsteen forum I'm on, someone has been posting (for awhile) that an Appetite re-release is coming. He was saying it a lot over the summer, then kind of disappeared when it was clearly not happening and has now popped up again saying it got sidetracked but is projected for maybe next spring. Maybe that person is here, I don't know. Its always hard to disseminate what is real or not on the internet and figured I'd ask if anyone heard anything about this here? The guy also teased out that apparently a 20th anniversary for the Illusions was planned with a lot of work put in then shelved. I never heard about that, so obviously I find it questionable.

So is all that bullshit? If no one here has heard about it I assume this guy is just talking out of his ass, but does make me curious. I assume a NITL DVD or some document will come out next year, but re-releasing old albums I question.

I really don't get what people have to complain about. We got a fucking great stream of a fantastic show. The band was on point, and Axl sounded great for the most part. I think the GNR community in general is just way too fucking spoiled for its own good. It's ridiculous.

People get all up in arms whenever we have a pro anything because whenever there's a direct feed to Axl's vocals you hear the flaws. Honestly, its there most every show, we just don't have a direct feed to it. So it becomes amplified and then its "he sounds bad" or "terrible". I'm not defending him, there are many times he does sound bad. But face facts people, he sounds bad MOST of the time. You only notice it on the good recordings we get, which is why every Axl Rose disaster is proshot stuff. There could be a million more but its masked by bad Youtube audio. So either just admit that he always sounds pretty bad or enjoy proshot stuff when we get it has become my MO.

They've been rehearsing Prostitute if they played that it would be awesome

They've rehearsed Perfect Crime and Slither has been on the alternate setlist for a while now. I have no faith in anything new until its actually played. Rehearsals of songs we actually want to hear largely mean nothing.

With the date of Apollo show leading into the anniversary of AFD and especially with the posters and billboards up in NYC, its left some of us wondering why the Apollo show was not in any way a celebration of AFD30.

I'm wondering if Adlers interviews this last yer can give any insight?  For one he said that when Fernando gave him a ride somewhere that Fernando shared some ideas/plans for AFD30 that Adler thought were exciting and hoped would come to fruition.  Also Adler reported in the last year that it was only just shortly before the Troubadour show that he was informed that he would not be participating in the shows.

Is it possible that the moving pieces and negotiations were ongoing up until 'the last minute?'  And that plans, press, posters, t-shirts, etc were made for either a NITL or AFD30 show, because of the lessons learned from Troubadour (actually GNRs entire career) ?

This of course assumes it was ever potentially an AFD30 thing.  Siriusxm's GNR Radio write up indicates the channel is a celebration of AFD30 and they put on the Apollo show and streamed it to that station.  Also Beta instagramed a congratulations for AFD 30 to NITL line up plus Izzy and Steven on the day of the show, not today, the actual anniversary.

Obviously this is a broad question.  But, I don't know.  Something along these lines seems possible to me.

Could this show have gone either way? What do people think?

Sorry, and I mean this in the nicest way possible, but no, thats not the case at all. Don't bog yourself with trying to put logic to things with GNR. People end up sounding beyond crazy, but I get that thats what this band does to people. I'm just saying don't get sucked into that.

Remember, Adler is VERY unreliable. I love the guy, but in the same "confirmation" of stuff for Appetite 30th he also said he has no involvement and just believes thats happening. He went from saying something was planned to he heard plans to he's hoping Fernando will do something. So remember that, cause that kept getting forgotten. Adler knew NOTHING, he was assuming, and clearly nothing was ever planned for Appetite specifically.

Nothing got cancelled or was being held for the last minute. They played a special show at the Apollo cause Sirius gave them a channel and this was obviously part of the deal. It had nothing to do with Appetite and never did. Billboards were put up to honor Appetite's 30th and also just coincided with the show, but the two weren't connected. It was simply because the show took place the day before the anniversary, so the show gets people talking about the anniversary. But the show is not in honor of that. Those are just the facts.

Beta's instagram, I'm sorry, but is just a stupid fucking thing. There's no other explanation for it. She was congratulating AFD 30 by including the original members and then for no reason the current band members. Presumably just because they're there. I think she'd just as much congratulate only them, but realized the stupidity of congratulating the album without acknowledging those original guys. So she just did them all. Again, think of it as nothing more than the stupidest fucking post in awhile and thats fucking saying something.

People sadly give GNR too much credit. Things don't fall apart. They plan things, deliberately and without much logic. "We'll do a show". Thats it. And then people add backstory to it, or the band accidentally posts dumb things which suggest something else. Thats not the case. They simply, rightly or wrongly, plan things (and plan is a strong word, they get an idea and just execute it) and if it doesn't work out with the fans they blame it on something else.

This voice is just awful...sounds like Mickey Mouse getting his balls squeezed in a vice while singing old GNR tunes.  Let's face it, right now Axl is the weak link in GNR.  Slash and Duff can make their instruments sound just like 1986-1988 (maybe even better as their performances are no longer clouded by drugs/alcohol), but Axl is a far cry from the band's peak.  As for the business side, once again Axl is the weak link as I believe it is he who is preventing Izzy and Steven (especially Steven) from assuming their proper place in the band, while we get the second rate imposters instead.

Axl was ALWAYS going to be the weak link of the reunion. Thats precisely the reason I never thought it would happen. That was inevitable. It was impossible not to be the case cause he has the most strenuous job. And I'm not apologizing for him, but everyone should have known Axl was always going to be the weak link. He did well last year, even though most of that might have been us just drinking in this return. Although I did think he sounded better.

As for the business side, I'm not sure what the case is. I'd almost say Slash and Duff should have threatened to walk if Izzy doesn't get his fair share. Just to see, but I get that that could have backfired and ruined everything they were building towards. I think in my head I can't imagine Axl is the ONLY one preventing them from being there. I believe he's a big part of it, but Slash and Duff obviously agreed. Of the three I side with Axl the least, but I have to put all the big 3 in there. No matter's who's specific fault it is, they all agreed and have to own it. I do not blame Axl for why Izzy and Steven aren't there, you have to blame all of the big 3. Also, and maybe its just me, but if it is majority Axl then Izzy who is his so called friend IMO should never forgive him. Axl claims to adore this man and if he's preventing him from being there Izzy should badmouth him for the rest of his life (but obviously he won't). But thats why it seems hard for me to believe its just Axl, cause they were always kind of the closest.

    Before the tour,

(Axl) ''We do this my way which means no Adler, no interviews, no band photos, no new music and the same setlist''

    (Slash) ''Can I have Coma?''

(Axl) ''Okay, I'll allow you that''.

Its posts like that that make me remember not everyone drinks the kool aid and there are people that get the truly ridiculousness of this tour. That post couldn't be more accurate.

  10. Also, not to still be a bit of downer, but it basically proves that Axl is liar that he can finally get on stage on time. It never bothered me that they didn't, but I never understood why he didn't just tell the truth. He always came up with excuses that were in the end, as this tour proves, were a complete lie. So it doesn't and never has bothered me, but it does show how borderline disrespectful he can be at times that obviously its more than easy enough for him to get on stage on time.

    Just sayin.

I was told the seating arrangement is being done today, and no one will know their seats until Thursday at check in. So all tickets will be at Will Call!

I'm setting myself up to have terrible seats and hopefully get surprised. But I assume people like Eddie Trunk and actual celebrities will get first priority on seats. Would be cool if real fans are right up front though.

  12. I don't believe anyone thats won has them in hand. I know I at least have to pick mine up at box office. I know many are desperate, but I'd stay away from Craigslist for this. Its not that kind of an event. Unless they are offering to be at the venue for you to pick up the tickets (likely what they'd have to do and could even never show up in that case cause they never had stuff) I wouldn't believe any of them. Yes, maybe a person or two gets lucky but I'm thinking most of those are scams unfortunately. I think there's a better shot of going to the venue and maybe someone's friend falls through.
