  1. I'm thankful to Skwerl. He gave us the album minus a couple of tracks.

The album Skwerl released feat less bloated layer wise mixes of the songs that sounded better.

I think Skwerl's leaks forced CD to be released sooner.

Anyone who bothered to download Skwerl's leak would have picked up the albu. I don't it affect sales.

  2. Having not experienced one of these 3 hour shows, which do sound a bit long, it sounds like Axl spends a lot of time off stage leaving it to the others to fill in with solo stuff. Maybe for Axl he is doing a 2 hour show spread over 3 hours. I bet the band feels fucked after 3 hours. Can you imagine being on stage for 3 hours! 1 to 2 hours is better if it means Axl on stage the whole time without all the filler.

  3. when I keep reading the word 'fan' or words 'his fans', I really don't think he looks at it that way..

(i could be wrong also, what do i know ?)

I think Axl does what he does, because he views himself as a rockstar / artist.

As with any artist, if you like what they do, you see it, listen to it etc.

Its probably more about his work, rather than him.

He probably just does't like the close up and personal side, amd prefers space and distance.

Being on stage, with a row of security separating him from the world, is probably his idea of ideal, and as close as he wants to get.

  4. Chinese Democracy is a great opener, gets Axl pumped up then he blows it all on WTTJ. Why not save it for an encore?

Opening with both songs does seem odd at times. As both tracks sound like openers. Since its an on going never ending Chinese tour, they should stick with opening with Chinese Democracy. They should play less AFD tracks, as only the old the band band can play them properly.

  5. its like painting a picture. where do you draw the line. there comes a point where to can look at something for too long and loose all judgement. Chinese Democracy sounds like layer upon layer upon layer. Sections start, sections stop. Bits fade in, bits fade out. Old parts, mixed with new. There times it sounds like Axl recorded a vocal in 1999, only to add a bit more vocal to the same song 5 years down the line. Adding Frank to the mix at the last minute goes to show just how unsure Axl was, and maybe reach a point where he had no idea what finished stood for. I still think the album was released before Axl was through with it. I also get the impression Axl could have put in another 10 years worth of work on it.

  6. Do you think Axl should have himself cloned so GNR can continue on after he retires? Maybe it'll be like a prequel thing and the Clone WAR will be CD II.

Once Axl's gone, his money could go into a trust, that see's Guns N'Roses live on for ever in the form of:

They should build an Axl Rose animatronic, that could be updated ever more, as technology improves.

It could move and jump just like Axl.

Vocals would come from digital backing tapes.

The band could simply be replaced every 10 years or so by a group of musicians management see fit.

Sure there would no new music, but fans old and new could expeirence classic GN'R music performed live.

  7. Banning t shirts is just f---ing ridiculous. This is a rock banned, right ?

Top hats, all big hats is fully understandable, as:

    A. They could block the vews for others

    B. They could be used to conceal video equipments

No Appetite for Destruction shirts ?

Is it because the AFD cover features the band Guns N'Roses ?

..and the other covers don't. Thus wearing a t-shirt feat. these covers is deemed ok.

I don't believe any of this. I very much doubt they would turn away a t-shirt feat. an album cover.

What ever next, the banning of all things on t-shirts that upset Uncle Axl :D

  8. Knowing how much Slash has tried to ruin Axl's life, I don't see how any fan of Axl's could wear a Slash shirt period, let alone to a concert. Live by the sword, die by it. Personally, I think it's cool that Axl refuses to play by anybody's rules. He doesn't take shit from anybody. Not record executives, not leakers, not even concert cupcakes.

Most ridiculous comment here... and that is saying something

    +1

There are some huge dick heads on this board.

  9. The bullshit that he (Alder) was fired for his addiction is just that – bullshit. It was a performance matter.

    Interesting.

They had to. My understanding of the situation was that Axl stated to the band he would not go on tour if I remained as manager. Didn't give the others much of a choice there, did he?... By this point, Axl was kind of taking over. Let’s look at the first thing he did once I left: He had everyone else in the band sign the name over to him. It was a control move between Axl and Doug Goldstein. They both knew I would never stand for anything like that. Axl never even brought it up when I was the manager because he knew what I would tell him to do with it.

METAL SLUDGE: So what are you saying? Axl and Doug Goldstein had a secret alliance?

    That sounds very accurate.

    Axl taking over

I think that both Axl and Goldstein were, at that time, both controlling and greedy. Axl complained all the time that Steven Adler got a percentage of composing royalties. I had recommended that the band have a share-and-share-alike approach to such income -- as did Van Halen, Great White, and others – because my observation was that the primary factors that destroyed bands were women and arguing over differential splits of income, especially mechanical royalties. Hence, I would recommend equal sharing of royalties -- and not women!

Alan Niven just says it like it is. No BS

  10. Fuck the 2010/2011/2012 voice discussion! Now I just wanna Axl's right-hand middle finger fixed.

What's next to discuss - Axl's double chin?

Forget about the double chin, its his prosthetic legs that concersn me most. Does does he manage to dance ?
