  1. I dunno why, but I i don't like Welcome to the Jungle being referred to as 'Jungle'.

Can you imagine if we referred to all GN'R songs (where possible) like that..

You know that song 'Train' and that other one, 'Child', you know the one i'm talking about, 'Child' yeah that one. Oh, and 'Jive' that rocks me out. My favourite is 'Democracy' oh that over long intro that goes on forever, isn't that awesome! :D

  2. Because the singer doesn't try to be Axl Rose.

Someone here tell that to Myles. He's so good at covering GNR tunes with Slash that Axl should just sign over the band's rights to them. Bad, bad Axl. If only Slash had had the rights to the Guns name, we would have had so much eargasmic music with him and Myles. It would make Appetite look like shit.

The reality is, if Axl was an unknown, and he decided to show up to the X-Factor, he woudln't make it throught to Round 2

Yeah, you're so right on the money. Axl would be an epic failure. Oh and why are you here again?

    I only anwsered the question.

If the competition was to vote for greatest front-man of all time I might make the effort to vote.

This thread to all intents and purpose, is pointless.

  3. Except he is not 'the greatest singer of all time'- he is not even close.

Axl has attitude. Axl has stage presence. Axl's voice suites his style of music.

Axl's voice sounded at its best about 20 years ago. Now in 2012 its all over the shop.

The reality is, if Axl was an unknown, and he decided to show up to the X-Factor, he woudln't make it throught to Round 2

  4. Nirvana - their music was grerat, and thats all that matters to me.

Too bad he had to go and top himself. Nirvana were at their peek around then, who knows what might have followed.

The same goes to Blind Melon. Two great bands, two dead lead singers.

One thing is (almost) for sure, I doubt either Kurt or Shannon would have got their band *mates* to sign a 'hand over the band name to me or else' contract prior to taking to the stage. I guess thats what separates Axl Rose from the rest.

  5. I don’t think Kurt gave Axl a chance on a personal level. He saw the sell-out, pretentious, self-absorbed, ruthless caricature and drew his own assumptions.

I think Axl and Kurt would have hit it off. & a collaboration between the 2 would perhaps have been the greatest happening for music.

With big and make up, GN'R was apart of that type of scene for a while, then they became huge, and the huge GN'R was raw and the make up side dropped. Maybe thought it was total cheese, and nothing to do with that original look. As raw and heavy as their look was, along came Grunge and Nirvana, and Nirvana were as big as GN'R. The Grunge look and sound made GN'R not as raw. I wonder if Axl ever saw that as a threat, or wanted to change GN'R.

  6. after tonights nye show surely that shud be it....... they must have toured everywhere in the past 10 years and they cant be thinking of doing europe next year with no new album, same setlist??

i think its time for something to happen ... :shrugs:

Iran, North Korea, Algeria, Turkmenistan, Cuba...

    Oh and China.

If they play China they won't be allowed to perform a certain song me thinks
