I'd say I really don't understand why he feels he has to treat the "release" of his side of the story like it's the second coming of Christ. Look at how long and detailed his "homework assignment" was. Why couldn't he even just summarize his side? What was he doing all of 2011 before Rio that kept him so busy from setting the record straight? Sure as Hell wasn't rehearsals....

I guess the bigger question is, can everybody else (Slash, Izzy, Duff and associates during that time that back up their claims) be wrong and lying except Axl?

Its all comes down to one thing - EGO

Originally, Freud used the word ego to mean a sense of self, but later revised it to mean a set of psychic functions such as judgment, tolerance, reality testing, control, planning, defence, synthesis of information, intellectual functioning, and memory.[1] The ego separates out what is real. It helps us to organise our thoughts and make sense of them and the world around us.[1]"The ego is that part of the id which has been modified by the direct influence of the external world ... The ego represents what may be called reason and common sense, in contrast to the id, which contains the passions ... in its relation to the id it is like a man on horseback, who has to hold in check the superior strength of the horse; with this difference, that the rider tries to do so with his own strength, while the ego uses borrowed forces."[14] Still worse, "it serves three severe masters...the external world, the super-ego and the id."[13] Its task is to find a balance between primitive drives and reality while satisfying the id and super-ego. Its main concern is with the individual's safety and allows some of the id's desires to be expressed, but only when consequences of these actions are marginal. "Thus the ego, driven by the id, confined by the super-ego, repulsed by reality, struggles...[in] bringing about harmony among the forces and influences working in and upon it," and readily "breaks out in anxiety — realistic anxiety regarding the external world, moral anxiety regarding the super-ego, and neurotic anxiety regarding the strength of the passions in the id."[15] It has to do its best to suit all three, thus is constantly feeling hemmed by the danger of causing discontent on two other sides. It is said, however, that the ego seems to be more loyal to the id, preferring to gloss over the finer details of reality to minimize conflicts while pretending to have a regard for reality. But the super-ego is constantly watching every one of the ego's moves and punishes it with feelings of guilt, anxiety, and inferiority.

To overcome this the ego employs defense mechanisms. The defense mechanisms are not done so directly or consciously. They lessen the tension by covering up our impulses that are threatening.[16] Ego defense mechanisms are often used by the ego when id behavior conflicts with reality and either society's morals, norms, and taboos or the individual's expectations as a result of the internalisation of these morals, norms, and their taboos.

Denial, displacement, intellectualisation, fantasy, compensation, projection, rationalisation, reaction formation, regression, repression, and sublimation were the defense mechanisms Freud identified. However, his daughter Anna Freud clarified and identified the concepts of undoing, suppression, dissociation, idealisation, identification, introjection, inversion, somatisation, splitting, and substitution.

For me the Rio show feat. Buckethead and Robin really felt like the *new* GN'R. It was nothing like the old *classic* GN'R - that sound was long gone. I took the band for what it was, and liked Buckethead's take on the old songs, and Robin's work on the new songs. That was the time they should have released Chinese Democracy and gone on a full blown tour. And maybe worked on new music along the way, and released a speical edition of Chinese Democracy feat. a studio recording of AFD.

For reasons unknown, they all fucked off and vanished as per usual - It all became stale. Then the band members begun to exit one by one.

Then out the blue, the Best Buy deal (how unrock n'roll) complete with new manager (which didn't last long) and 3 new members, 2 of which added some extra layers (not required) to Chinese Democracy- came along. The album appeared to be rushed out, after so many years of delay's. It felt wrong. The reasons, unclear. The current 2011 line up seem be somewhere between the new GN'R and the classic GN'R. They appeared to have stuck with the Chinese theme, even although it fitted Buckethead and Robin so much more.

For this new line up to succeed, they need to come up with something new, other than covers of old songs.

Only 4 moths to go and all will be revealed !

The previous site took years to offer anything close to an update.

Maybe they might show the world what the band looks like

The decision should be left up to Axl as to who gets inducted and which members of GNR perform. His band, his vision.

Borrowing from SOA's Kurt Sutter's quote and changing a couple of words, Axl could've said this - "The day I write an album where every song pleases every critic is the day I turn in my originality card. My mind, my music, my vision. Your blog, your subjective opinion, your corn chips."

All not Axl's vision. Without the other 4, Axl wouldn't have those all important *classic* songs to perform.

maybe some hugs for the cameras, but if the people think that they will be on tour again i think all is wrong, Axl is doing his work with Guns N' Roses and is happy with that, all ex members are doing the same, remeber guys .. hugs? maybe yes, but tour? impossible (in my opinion)

I don't think for one minute there will ever we a full blown tour feat. the original band. I doubt any of them would want that.

Many fans would love to hear the original band perform a 5 song mini set for the sake of the induction, assuming they can get over their differences.

Only members prior to the point in GN'R history when Axl became the last man standing should be inducted, as these were the band members that made the name GN'R what it is, and will be remembered for, and what Axl new band covers. So no, Stintion should not be inducted.
