  1. Fucking Axl... On Rock in Rio III, they started at 2:20 because Axl wanted to watch the Oasis concert on TV at the hotel, and not backstage.

And when it finished, a helicopter picked him, but when it arrived at the City of Rock, Axl asked him to stay on the air above the crowd for some long time because he was amazed by the size of it, and just kept staring, totally impressed.

I guess he couldn't believe how much people were still there, after 2 AM just to see him, after 9 years...

10 years later, he still managed to fill the City of Rock, again, for the third time.

    Did he tell you that?

  2. It's a bit strange. Some of it is a little cheesy, and I don't know why they're highlighting guys who weren't in the band anymore. I think it's legit, they just weren't happy with the finished produce and shelved it. A lot of people here think it's cheesy, and it's sort of pointless to highlight and introduce members of the band who aren't in the band anymore.

My guess is that this is official, but was not meant to be a "music video" in the sense that we think of them (i.e. MTV, on Vevo, etc.) but probably more of a promotional video for Chinese Democracy as a whole. I would not be surprised if this would have played at Best Buy or something. Obviously, although "Better" is the song, this is not specific to the song and seems more like it's just a call-out to all the big players on the album and the touring of the album (thus Buckethead's presence on the video as well as a few clips of 2002 footage).

  3. Different strokes for different folks I guess. I'll take Dj's promotional efforts (chessey and self-serving as they can be at times) over talking jibberish through sock puppets (Bucket), watching TV in the closet and a general all-around vibe of "I'd rather be in NIN" (Robin) and Uncle Axl's "can't be bothered" approach. As far as the playing goes- he's NOT that bad IMHO- just a slightly more generic/safer to date. I've also seen him more or less own the crowd on two separate occasions in Orlando- which was heck of a lot better than watching Finck get booed/ignored most of the show back in the day (and I'm a Finck guy playing-wise- so that definitely gutted me a bit).

I'm not meaning to specifically single you out, but I have notice multiple people here bring up Robin watching television in a closet as a defense against bashing on Robin. I can understand hating his weird look or his sometimes stragne solos, but what bearing does Robin's television watching habits have on his time in Guns N' Roses?

  4. t may be "forced" at times but at least Dj tries to fucking promote the band. More than Uncle Axl could be bothered to do- or just about any other "Nu-Guns" member of the last 15 fucking years. Honestly, it frequently seems like Dj is the only one who even gives a crap at anywhere near the same level that we do (probably b/c like many of us he was a fan back in the day) and yet he's the one who's routinely shat upon. I'll never understand.

Could be the questionable guitar skills, constant shilling of his merchandise, and non stop Tweeting/Facebook about how awesome he is that rubs some people wrong.

  5. Appetite for Destruction (if I had to choose): Think About You

GN'R Lies (once more if I had to choose): Used to Love Her

Use Your Illusion I: Live and Let Die (never been a huge fan of this song by GN'R or Paul McCartney)

Use Your Illusion II: Don't Cry w/alternate lyrics

The Spaghetti Incident: Ain't It Fun?

Chinese Democracy: Riad N' the Bedouins
