Haven't read the thread but Marc Canter has posted about Axl's sensitivity, even mentioning phone calls where Axl screams at him in anger due to a misunderstood quote from an interview. I think this is the point, the issue, not so much what Slash has said but how Axl interpreted it, how he deals with it.

And it depends in what misinformation beta fed him to get him all worked up

The problems he taking about with CD songs couldnt be fixed with mixing or adding more notes to guitar solos. It's a more fundamental problem. It's like a big budget Hollywood movie with tons of special effects but no story or characters. Transformers needed a script, not more quick shots of robots fighting. Ezrins comments make perfect sense. Don't over think it.

As bad as it may have been then, at least axl could cling to the foolish hope that CD could save him. But what does he have now? He's got to know that it will literally never get any better than yesterday

I think he would love to put out his crappy CD leftovers. But he burned too many bridges and underperformed for so long that the powers that be have effectively buried him. Touring is his most reliable income stream for now. I don't think he really has a choice in the matter. And I think he probably resents the way the forum nerds expect something of him that he's incapable of delivering.

Groghan you're one of the weirdest people I've come across online. I am by far no Axl sympathizer but I understand how they feel more than how you feel. You come here pretty well every day and almost all your posts are serious about how you think the people who worship Axl are wrong and weird. Why do you care so very much how they feel? I don't get it. Are you jealous? Do you really think these people are so awful you need to post about these posters constantly? You're weird. You're wrong.

If he can't shut up, I wish he could at least be brief. His long redundant futile posts just make it hard for me to read the forum on my phone. He is far and away my least favorite member of this forum. And I actually agree with his opinions on the band.

When Moby briefly attempted to work with Axl in the throwes of Chinese Democracy, he found a man who was riddled with self doubt and paralyzed with insecurities. He described Axl as being like a 'kicked dog,' still reeling over the various people who'd abandoned him.

Do you think Axl is in the midst of another kicked dog phase now? I would imagine that the wholesale rejection of CD by everyone from the label to the fans to the musicians who played on it would have hurt just as much. Possibly even more since It seems like he'd pinned all his hopes for redemption on that album.

Could that explain his inability or unwillingness to make new music? And his deteriorating physical and professional condition? Could it explain his wallowing complacancy as the autumn of his career sets in?

Some of my favorite albums are unambitious and redundant. Chuck berry wrote 50 songs that pretty much sound the same. I take every last one of them over any songs on CD.
