It’s not just Guns. It’s all bands. All concerts. I’ve watched the culture go from having the best time you could in the pits going wild, to whereas now you get a look for even remotely moving. It’s all about filming on your phone nowadays for YouTube. It really sucks having GA in 2020...
so if the crowd has no energy why would the band...

So my postponed show at MetLife...am I able to get a refund? I have lost my interest in going anyway.
for rage they offered refund right away with new date

I’ve seen guns so many times it’s stupid. A complete defender of the band over the years. Since the reunion started it just hadn’t sat right with me. Saw them 3 times on NITL. I was hesitent to go to MetLife stadium this summer due to the lack of anything with this band and got tickets anyway. I’m praying it’s postponed or cancelled. I’m going to get the refund and won’t go back to see them until new music is here...

I prefer 2001-2006 lineups over the current one to be honest...there was some excitement as a fan unlike now

I’ve seen guns close to 20 times. My issue with using YouTube based selections is from seeing them I know it’s not a great representation of how they sound live(specifically axl). I’ve been to shows where he’s been destroyed online by his vocals where seeing it live it sounded much better.
we would need professional cuts of these songs from the sound board...also remember the evolution of the CD songs throughout the years. The live sound changed quite a bit.
part of me thinks live box set showing of each time of the band 2002/2006/2010 etc to show the differences between the sound of the lineups. Each formation can make each song sound different.

Man I went to the Hammerstein shows and have them all on disc...those were some insanely amazing nights. The atmosphere was electric and the band, especially Robin, was so fucking good. Axl was fired up at those shows and you could see him and Tommy having so much fun. Wish a legit pro shot was released someday of those 4 shows.
I would love a live era from 00-14...some of my favorite lineups(earlier on)and completely underrated and they were determined to just say fuck you.

Pauly Shore is comedic genius. Pauly Shore is Dead is a classic. Can’t even fathom people not liking that character he’s created.

Listen i’ve Been to almost 90% of NY shows since 2002 and I have to say this was the worst show by far.
First and I know I sound like an asshole to say this but they went on at like 8pm. I feel like their edge(axl in particular)is gone. I like the unexpected and unknown that used to surround them.
They sound good. Not ever an issue for me. I don’t trust videos online bc I’ve watched shows I’ve been at where he sounded amazing and on the videos he sounded terrible. The band sounds fine.
It’s the terrible setlist that kills the show and bores me. The endless solos and terrible covers(black hole sun is god awful) They could cut the show an hour, keep it very high energy songs and come in and out like a tornado.
Though I was psyched Madagascar was played! Anyway, just my opinion from a guy who’s seen them PLENTY.

Montage of heck was all bs and fake. Watch soaked in bleach instead. A blind melon/ Shannon doc would be great.
the thing with BM is that the band itself was/is so fuxking tight and all great song writers. Live they are amazing and their album without Shannon was still really good. Brad smith(bass player) solo albums Abandon Jalopy are incredible start to finish.

First I am generally a izzy supporter. More so for him doing what he wants. And that's what he did here. He CHOSE not to take the offer(which in most people's reality is still a shit ton of money) His decision.
i understand him feeling that he is an integral part of the band but
1-he doesn't like stadium touring and there's no way he's playing 2.5-3 hour shows period.
2-You can't pay him equally for playing on 5-6 songs a night.
3-there's a risk of izzy not being reliable on a full tour like that.
Many reasons why I understand GNR camps decision. I am praying though that they can figure something out before they decide if they are recording/writing for real bc THAT is where izzy earns his paychecks.

I do understand the dislike of Frank's playing...I think he fits GNR sound the least out of all drummers BUT he has improved since the last nu-guns tour ended.
Richard is loyal talented and has nothing to do with izzy not being around so I don't get all the hate. He does exactly what he's asked to do and rocks his ass off.
The thing I noticed about Melissa live was not her keyboard playing but her background vocals. I think they really add something to fill in the depth of vocal gaps where axl may not sound so strong and where duff can't hit some notes.
Overall I will not complain at all about any of them, but I could go for any other drummer if I had my way(Steven, Matt or Brain)and I'm pretty sure we will see izzy at some point.

1-AFD...no explanation needed
2-CD--elimate 2 or 3 songs and it's considered a classic by critics imo
3-UYI 1-lots of good hard and much more complete than UYI2
4-Lies
5-UYI 2-a little too much filler
6-TSI-I still consider it a really good album where most of my guns friends trash it...human being is amazing.
besides appetite and lies I think the albums could have been viewed as much stronger if the track listings were limited to 10-11 songs.

Weezer went down like a lead balloon supporting GnR in London.
And...every city, country is different. I've seen them many times and they have worked the crowd every time I have seen them. Never saw a bad performance ever and they really put on a fantastic show.

Helmet, AIC, Blind Melon, Soundgarden, Smashing Pumpkins, Tenacious D, Weezer, Faith No More, Primus...I'm good with any combo of these.

AC/DC are truly one of the greatest rock bands of all time. The bluesy hard rock combo is done better by no one. The only drawback to them, and I say this as a fan, is that they generally don't make complete albums( besides back in black and black ice). Most of their albums I only enjoy 4-5 tracks per album...
with that said at any other time I'd love to see axl do this, but the timing is terrible. I want complete focus on Gnr and I'm paranoid about him hurting his voice.
Oh...and Michael Jackson is the GREATEST performer/artist of all time hands down.

Though I’ve always thought INXS never was able to make great “albums” they were always able to have 3-4 amazing sings on every album and with a catalogue that large a phenomenal greatest hits. Plus Michael was a great front man and a crazy fuck.
