  1. To me ITW sounds like a smash hit.

    Agreed.
It probably did need Dre and Snoop to make it Walk This Way.
Are you serious? ITW could never be a hit in this music industry, no matter who could have guested on it

It's a hit song. If you put Dre and Snoop on it you are going platinum.
Why the hell would Dr Dre or Snoop ever rap in ITW? ITW is in a style that, in the US, would have never been huge in the last ten years
  2. Axl and Izzy are like Lennon/McCartney, Page/Plant and Jagger/Richards.

No. Just no. The other three pairs actually wrote a ton of songs and established years of chemistry beyond just songwriting.

Axl and Izzy have written good songs together, but shouldn't even be mentioned among the other three duos.

I'm fucking tired of hearing about page and plant. I'm a zeppelin fan but they ripped off so many blues artists and claimed the material as their own

  3. Madagascar, TIL and Twat are in my top 10 songs of all time.

I saw Bruce Springsteen perform last night and came away thinking, among other things, how he just made everything about Axl Rose and what he has done to the GN'R name a complete and utter fucking joke.

I've actually given up. I don't give a flying fuck anymore. How anyone can try and rationally defend any aspect of the situation is beyond me. He could have had the world in his hands again and instead he has a steaming turd.

Pretty much this. Saw Springsteen for the first time at Wembley a month ago, then again 2 weeks later. Unbelievable performer. Hilarious reading fans bitch about his setlists, I got 2 full albums at 2 3 hour shows, what more do those people want?! I don't know if I could get excited about another GNR UK tour. Would go see Bruce again in a heartbeat (seeing him in Rio in September), but I'm nowhere near as excited for new studio material from him than I am from Axl.

Springsteen's a true professional. He constantly switches up his setlists and even takes a bunch of fan requests each show. I wish Axl would show even a fraction of the passion Springsteen does.

  4. Another interesting comparison.

For 2013, GnR is averaging 4,000 people per show.

For the Illusions tour (ending in 1993) they averaged 33,850 people per show.

    How the mighty have fallen.

GNR can still average 30,000 + per show but they have been doing smaller venues. It's only normal to have a lower average if your playing smaller venues.
    wishful thinking
  5. Some are harsh. It's not going to be perfect. We are not listening to the actual album. He being 51...I think he does a pretty good job...especially after screaming songs for more than 25 years. Got to be tough on vocal cords. I'm just grateful he still gets out there and does his thing. We could be getting nothing at all. I've seen them a few times in the past couple years... thought they were pretty good. I guess everyone has an opinion. I like mine the best... :rofl-lol:

Why does everyone say he's been sceaming for 25+ years? They haven't toured close to 25 years

  6. I don't think he is awesome. He was average at best, no raspy whatsoever and all of sudden everyone that complains about Axl's lack of raspy say this is an awesome Jungle performance. Seriously, dont lie to yourselves. At this point it's pretty clear how biased you all are. :)

You are entitled to your opinion, as are we. Your bias is quite clear as well. Maybe it's the tone we don't like, not the rasp.

  7. definitely

Is this what you people call awesome?

I'll take that over current axl

No, you will not. You're just retarded cupcakes going through the motion. If you say that the vid I posted sounds actually better than the one I'm posting now you're definitely being hypocrites by saying that Axl sounds bad because he doesn't sing w/ his raspy vocals, but when another person that do not sing w/ raspy vocals that person sounds better. That's bullshit, we know, but you've crossed yet another line of stupidity.

It's called having an opinion. I prefer the todd kerns version. If it was 2010 or 2006, I would say I prefer axl. But I have listened to various concerts from 2011-present including purshased livestreams and attending Vegas shows and I don't like the direction his voice has headed. Simple as that. No trolling, just an opinion.

  8. Good thing Axl secured the name or the Slash/Gilby/Sorum brigade would have forced him out when Axl wouldn't bend over. Can you imagine bullshit like "Monkey Chow" under the GNR banner? Scary that could have been reality!

Like that's any worse than this joke of an album that took 14 years and $14M dollars. :takethat:

You're a retard with 92 posts what do you know?

So post count determines intelligence? Quick everyone, post more. Forget education. Your post count on a GNR forum dictates your knowledge. Really? And nice use of an ad hominem fallacy.

  9. People think I can't handle a negative comment about Axl, but that's not the case. I tend to target people who have an agenda. They're easy to spot. But I don't begrudge those such as yourself who make critical observations. Axl needs to be held accountable, I understand that.

    Carry on.

How come people who say positive things about him don't have an agenda, but people who say negative things about him do?

  10. Yeah, the majority of my friends actually. They say Axl sounds like a dying cat. Everytime I play Guns music they want me to turn it off. I think its the younger generations though

  11. what is a hipster?

In relation to music, hipsters are kids who don't basically don't like some music because its mainstream. They listen to indie music, are arrogant based on my experiences, and act like they are different from everyone else and 'cool' because they like things that are underground that most people don't. Only my opinion

So how is that different than punk?

I don't think hipsters are as much anti-authority. They dress nicer and tend to act more introverted. The people I know who identify themselves as hipster are people who try to be different in an 'I'm not like you' kind of way, mainly through music and the type of people they socialize with. It's a little like punk, but they don't act or dress outrageously.

  12. axl's carried the gnr name pretty good. a good example is the 2002 MTV VMA. axl carried guns with robin, bucket, tommy, richard, dizzy, chris, and brain. they shocked the music world on that night. after the historic performance at the MTV VMA, they went on a successful chinese democracy tour in the states. axl knows what he's doing with the guns n roses name

    Sarcasm?

  13. People aren't all saying these things. It seems like it because we're on a forum of people who follow the band closely. Most fans outside of the forums aren't that critical. Most either like new guns or they don't. Not everyone critiques every move.
