I can call it an artistic failure (because I feel parts of CD is absolutely horrible), disappointing (because I hoped for a lot more) and tragic (because in my opinion it doesn't bode well for the fortune), but just not a flop.

That's assuming he has gone anywhere near the studio since CD was handed in to the record company. Personally I don't think he has. He is a busted flush.

Of course bands are different but this isn't a band in the traditional sense. I mean Paul McCartneys backing band don't go off writing songs without his knowledge or input so why would Axl's?

Doesnt matter how good or bad This I Love is - the point is that it would have fit in and resonated with the general public. Put that thing on the end credits to Twilight and GNR would've been huge again.

There are some great songs on Chi Dem, imo. I just put CITR on a mix cd for somebody among Zeppelin, Queen, Elton John and others and frankly it makes those others sound a bit one-dimensional.

You know when GNR need to piggyback on that shitheap for popularity that it is well and truly over.

I think Ron might be able to pull this off with a bit of practice.

I remember GNR were the first band that felt like "My band" as opposed to a band my parents liked first. They like GNR though. I remember my old man being blown away by Slash and then arguing with me over who was better Slash or Hendrix. He usually finished the argument with - "Yeah well at least he's not named after taking a piss." He was only winding me up though.
