It now appears to have been removed. I was streaming it via Apple Music, and it’s no longer available to stream. My guess is it was accidentally unlocked for streaming in Australia (though I don’t know why), but it’s since been removed.
It'll probably be out on Friday for everyone I guess.
Ahhh gotchya. Thanks for the heads up!

If it’s legit (and it should be) then we can expect some guitar duets with Billy Gibbons and Gary Clarke Jr. maybe
How is it?
Sorry, edited my post. But its super old school blues. Like, youd hear it at an old bar. But its fun and upbeat. Doesnt strike me as very slash-y or brian johnson (surely not the ac/dc brian) but quite enjoyable!

Listening in aus right now. Thoughts in a post below.

Hopefully:
- NITL Bluray Live show
- New double album with slash, duff (izzy?)
- Chinese Democracy Sessions Complete Boxset
- Bluray Illusions Tours
- Axl autobiography
- Axl deep dive interview
- Axl doing vocals for that last velvet revolver album, or collaborating with Maynard Keenan, Matt Belamy or Jerry Cantrell or appearing on the last season of Curb your enthusiam (I can dream right haha).

Can someone enlighten me, why would the band leak something when they have the means to just release it officially? Is there another entity in charge of their music releases?
My guess is the original vinyl had both songs and thats where they leaked from. It was close to the release date of that vinyl too.

The thing is the track had to come from somewhere, and its clearly duff and slash on it.
So if its not from this source with the General, where did it come from, and what other songs with slash and duff are out there.
Atlas?
This. Such a mystery for it to be on the internet somehow, along with the General.

Love both songs, and together think it's a masterpiece.
My take is that The General is about abuse from Axl's father/stepfather and Monsters is about some sort of abuse from his mom, or perhaps even both sets of parents (Dynamic duo keep your figure crashing). I also think that when he sings "Oh but it's over now" it's actually in relief, like "oh thank god this nightmare is finally over." Hence, this is why the chorus sounds almost uplifting and the lead guitar from slash is also upbeat or happy.
Lastly, I think the entire outro solo is extremely bluesy and is Slash and not a mix of Slash and Fortus.
I got the impression the general is primarily from axl's perspective during that time, where monsters is moreso about his mum's lack of comforting efforts about the situation. Like "i was there for you, it was all i could do. Well its over now" (stop dwelling on it, i did the best i could) kind of thing - with axl being displeased at his mum's disinterest to ackowledge it her fault.

Fucking love these songs. Listening to them as one song especially just works so well for me. I prefer the general over monsters, but then again i like omg and absurd, and early muse. Better than i expected.

How exactly did everyone fall into the belief that it would be digitally released on Friday? No official word from anyone yet here you all are shocked something didn’t happen that no one said would.
I mean the physical copy is releasing today (apparently the UK store said 'releases'). It's a pretty reasonable assumption it would also release digitally. It's also a friday, which is seemingly when new music is released.

This thread right now is how to set yourself up for disappointment 101 lol
I get over disappointment within a few minutes or an hour, but the hype feeling last for hours or days. Happy to ride the positivity.

If its going on digital, would it be midnight thursday? Cant remember what happened with perhaps. Pretty sure it was midnight.
Its 8am thursday in aus at the moment (and probably 10am in nz), so we may find out in about 14 hours.
