  1. I mean, i'll lose hope if it gets to metlife and there is no single on the horizon at that point.

    Until then, we BELIEVE

For all we know, slash and axl were in the studio a few weeks ago changing the single, and that has possibly delayed it.

I've just discovered some of britney spears' albums are pretty awesome, so i'm sweet for a bit haha.

They don't have a future. Just tour, sell as much merch, and collect as many paydays as possible until the wheels fall off (Axl's voice). Axl will likely retire in the next 3-5 years with enough cash for his Brazilian leeches to retire to their own private island. He's working like a mule for them. $lash will keep playing at Bar Mitzvahs, store openings, birthday parties, etc  for as little as 200 bucks and a plate of bbq ribs. Like Axl said, he'll play with anyone from Space Ghost to Snoop Dogg. Recycling the same butt rock riffs he's been playing since Snakepit. Duff "Punk Rock" McKagan will release another shitty album and write another lousy book where he can name drop his good friends from Nirvana to burnish his punk rock cred. Maybe he can write another cringe apology letter to Krist and Dave about his bad behavior at the 92 MTV VMAs. When they do actually retire, this band will only release shitty merch like candles and magnets. The archival stuff like the Illusion tour, demos, etc are all lost in time.

All I care about is the Axl biography and the Chinese Democracy boxset. There is nothing else this band has to offer. I'd say the mid-90's demos would be another goldmine but those sadly have no vocals. They'll never release that tour footage because it would blow up their image with the politically correct crowd. That's also why you'll never see a GnR biography. Slash is out there saying that he thinks the biographies are corny and not realistic. Bullshit. He's scared of the dirt a biography would uncover. Imagine a segment of the movie dedicated to the hell house days, one in  a million, the rape charges, Axl beating his wife/gf, Steven and the band exchanging sexual favors for cash pre-fame, Izzy being a heroin dealer and pimp, etc - the list goes on. They would be cancelled faster than you can blink. The band doesn't have the stature in America to survive stuff like that unlike say...Metallica who have really cultivated a loyal and passionate fanbase.

Well said haha. Cant argue with any of that. I would also settle for axl biography and chinese box set. Although i would love a newalbum from the band too and a blu ray.

I feel like we'll get a few songs with slash and duff and hopefully that blu ray at least. I mean, axl has released a blu ray already, so he is capable.

  3. I love JRE's podcasts with Maynard and James Hetfield. Just fun discussions getting to know the person. No obligations to spill critical or sensitive information. Would suit Axl very well I think.

I think what’s ultimately happening here is that we’re simply overthinking everything. Anxiety? Labels pressing them? Axl’s so-called perfectionism? Some legal issues?
No. We are the ones who submerge in this stuff every day, but the truth is, they’re having the time of their lives. Nothing pressing them, crowds buying out tickets, new generations of chicks loving them, all this while making tons of money by playing those old hits. And when they’re not on the road, some of them keep themselves busy doing solo, and others – like Axl – may probably just unwind and not think about GN'R at all. I mean, we see them primarily as musicians, but they also have lives outside the whole music thing, don't they.
So while we keep saying "this must be it, it would be logical to release XYZ this Friday/week/month," Axl just probably sits back in his rose pink Cadillac, making bets on Kentucky Derby Day...
Yes, he does take things seriously, but he also has zero things to prove and zero deadlines to meet. That’s why I believe that those "it comes out when it comes out" statements Slash (and probably others) keeps making are closer to the truth than we realize. Axl just takes his time. And why wouldn’t he. He doesn’t read the forums (anymore), does he. Besides, he could play solely WTTJ–SCOM–KOHD–NR–PC for the rest of his life and still make money, as long as Slash is standing next to him on the stage.
Do I blame him/them for this? Not really. Do I wish it was different? Why the fuck even ask.
    Rant over.

Yep 100%. New music seemingly isnt a priority for axl. He enjoys whatever he does.

Listening to it in full I'm not quite sure why anyone is excited for this to be released. It's pretty much identical to the version we have. Obviously I understand the want to hear Slash on the track and the drums will be Brain (or maybe Frank?) rather than Josh. But really we pretty much have the song already.

    Very understandable, but...

    1. Slash's guitar and energy on silkworms changed the song completely for me, so i'm looking forward to that magic again.

    2. My life needs the excitement damnit!

I don't think you can ban someone for giving their opinion. He is right, there is no new album. slash said it'd be something he'd like to do after this tour, but obviously that won't happen. You could say slash is lying. but the past 15 years have indicated he probably isnt. unless axl hybrids 5/6 CD songs and 5/6 reworked songs. But that's not going to happen either.

I can see both sides. 2020 intentions is obviously frustrated at people dreaming and taking everything so literally when facutally there is no new album. but at the same time you're all allowed to dream and write it here too. people shouldn't be turning on each other. they should be turning on Axl and TB.

There is nothing wrong with the negative opinions and realism, It's just the attitude towards others and snarky demeanour which is the problem.

I would actually point out he's as optimistic as the rest of us anyways. He comes to a forum everyday, for a band where literally nothing happens for years, and checks the "new album thread" hoping to see if a new song or album is announced.

Although, instead of engaging in discussion and managing expectations/disappointment in an adult manner like everyone else here, he will soley just complain ("the thread running hot", "being off topic" or "people being too optimistic") or attack other people.

If he wants to chill out and enjoy this place with everyone, i really do invite him to do so. I'm sure without the frustration, he could probably be a decent guy and have some interesting points to deliver.

I'm not upset, it just seems that you're only here to be annoying so why are you here? Telling people to "stfu" when they tell you exactly what you're doing and you don't have anything to say to defend your position is kinda pathetic.

    2020_intentions should really be banned.

He doesnt seem to have any respect for anyone here and he only contributes in a severely negative and degrading fashion.

If he has some kind of mental or social disorder, then I do feel bad, but this isnt really the place for that kind of behaviour.

He also has Guns N’ Roses tour dates booked through October, but as for his possibly most anticipated future project — long-rumored new GNR music — he plays coy again. “It comes out when it comes out,” he says with a big grin. “So, you know, just stay tuned.”

I think that's axl's style. Have it ready and one day, when he's feeling good about it, he releases it.

I think it’s time to doubt the possibility of new music on this tour. A setlist has been found from a recent show and Perhaps and The General are no longer on it. Also, Perhaps has not been soundchecked in a number of shows- it’s safe to say that “plans changed” at this point.

    IMG_1315.jpeg

Too many people leaked it, so now axl's scraped the plans entirely haha (jk)

    Hmmm, wonder what's happening then.

  10. I love this band and Axl is the man, but it really does seem like he has an issue with recording new vocals.

The re-release CD left overs all used previous vocals. And the stage guy said they're looking into previously unreleased appetite era material. Bet that actually means just unreleased axl vocals for slash and duff to use.

Except for looney tunes i guess! Haha. It's axl's life, so he can do what he wants anyways.

My guess is songs drop for US leg. We get some goodies for the holidays and then the focus will be on a new album with either a tour to support it starting in the fall of next year or in 2025. This the the most likely scenario.

I actually believe this is the plan too. Obviously we've been burned a lot, but I feel as though they do have their shit together.

The tour promotion and production is super professional. Songs are ready to go, and they're just playing their cards with deals/promotions etc.
