We have a lot of evidence of songs being on setlists do not directly relate to songs being played of released. It's a theory.

Oh really? Since they have been touring as a reformed band, its only been hardskool and absurd appearing on the setlist, right? And they both ended up being released.

    Am i missing another one?

Fairly certain that I'm not allowed to post it here, but I just finished putting together an unofficial GNR album using various AI GNR songs from YouTube along with a few remixed/remastered village session songs (the ones with vocals). Turned out really good IMO, although it might not be everyone's cup of tea with the "AI Axl" songs, but they are very accurate and sound amazing to my ears at least.
Also included some new guitars over some of the Village/CD era songs as a sort of "Slash version". (I'm willing to share (if that is allowed?)
I've also been working on original GNR songs using instrumentals from the village session tapes, writing possible lyrics as well as scouring the internet to find out how to actually get an AI Axl voice model working, to not much success so far. (Closest I've gotten so far was a fairly accurate 88' interview-style Axl talking, which I posted somewhere here a while back, but no success with actual singing/rasp)

I've seen some channels on YouTube that have figured it out by making covers using an AI Axl Voice, but It seems the channels that have made those AI covers aren't giving them out. It would be great to have access to one though.

    Thats awesome man!

If youre all over the Ai stuff, think you could put the silkworms chorus and bridge back into absurd?

    1. isolate the vocals from a good live silkworms performance

    2. Train the Ai off the Absurd single axl vocals, so that it sounds like it.

    3. Use these trained Ai absurd vocals to now sing the isolated vocals chorus and bridge from step 1. (So now we have absurd axl singing those lines)

    4. Use Ai to remove the multiple 'Absurd's shouts from the absurd chorus single.

    5. Lastly, Insert new Ai chorus and bridge into Absurd single.

Those songs haven't been listened to, let alone worked on, by Axl in over 20 years.

The only evidence of any song coming is Perhaps and that's only because they've been rehearsing it. The General is just a theory. We have no indication that any other song other than Perhaps is on the way.

The general has been spotted on setlists on two seperate occassions, so I would argue its not a theory at this point.

we haven't heard a large portion of The General being soundchecked have we? maybe the people at GnR know the reputation it has as one of the "grails", so they're keeping it a super secret surprise until it releases! :D

    I think so!

Anyone know which record label GNR are currently under? Universal? We need to do some snooping! If its almost ready for announcement, there might be trails to be found :P

  5. It could be possible that they have actually organised an anouncement/partnership with another company to release the EP or whatever it is they're planning. Hence the removal of all evidence, as this would compromise the deal they have made.

Maybe the details of the deal is in the hands of the company or partnership (record label or an exclusive deal like best buy) and thats why the details are vague to duff?

  6. I watched an old video from like 92 where axl called gnr an organisation.

Im starting to think maybe it all is just a business to him. So he didnt release chinese democracy as he was trying to get a way to get the most money for it? He's not releasing new songs now as the tour with slash and duff provides the money. He teases one or two new songs in hopes fans will attend more shows on another tour leg?

If thats the case, the sound check was deliberate to catch ours and the media attention.

    Hope im wrong haha.

  7. My guess on axl's strange output over the past 30 years; the mental weight crippled him?

Went to the biggest band in the world in a super short period. Made some of the most incredible music with Appetite, then topped it creatively with UYI.

Probably felt immense pressure to top it again but never felt like it was good enough or afraid to commit in case it wasn't perceived as well. None of us will know what he went though and what drives him.

Perhaps now he's starting to let go, as he gets older or the expectations to be greater subside.

Me? I just want the chinese sessions box set, new album and live blu ray haha.
