Me too, i just listening seconds the snippets of Atlas, no more that it.

I can definetly understand wanting to hear tiny snippets of it. We all just really want new music and most listen for that reason.

I am a writer and I think about the many notebooks of unpublished work I have. A friend once asked why I have not published them as I have published books. I had various reasons for why. Some were not finished, for example.

There could be so many reasons why an artist does not publish their work. In some ways writing can self heal too for some. There is so much that has changed in his life since some of the songs were written maybe they are things he wanted to get down or record at one time but due to changes in his life no longer feels the song has a place on a record for the public, if that makes sense.

One common factor when artists pass away is how much music they leave behind. I always felt sometimes it was wrong to release songs an artist had no intentions of releasing. Like a poet they may write some of their feelings or fears down as a way to get it out but it does not mean they want the public to hear it. Or maybe they thought they wanted to share it but decided not to. Many families make the mistake of going against the artists wishes and releasing it anyway.

So I stand at my crossroads here wanting new music and living through you all here🤣 I hope some of these get actual releases soon.

This reminds me of an interview I once read of an artist who wrote a deep dark song about drug use. Unfortunately he regretted releasing it later wished he would have just kept it to himself he said.

So many leaks. I do not hear if this type of thing much with other bands I listen to.

I agree. Axl needs to adjust his vocals to how he can sing now.

I don't want Axl to wind up like Vince Neil who can't sing a damn note and constantly points his mic to the fans and we wind up singing most of the song. lol

I'm sure a vocal coach could help Axl out. But honestly, I think Axl sounded more like Axl with Slash and Duff than he did with the other version of GNR.

I'm guessing the clean voice he speaks of and used on CD may be comfortable for him but as he said many fans responded badly to it and didn't like it.

So no matter what he does someone complains.

I have seen them live and he sounds great. Videos don't do his voice or the show justice and each concert is different.

I mean they are performing 3 hours sometimes twice a week.

The top of his range has really never been an issue for him. Tuning down won’t really solve much of anything. The GNR catalog requires him to change registers pretty frequently over the course of a 3 hr set. That’s the main issue that people perceive. When he’s off it’s usually more due to his middle register and jumping back and forth from it.

ACDC sounds more consistent because those songs don’t really deviate and are similar in range.

Thing is Axl wasn’t consistent even 25 yrs ago. It’s always been hit or miss to a degree. However when he’s on it’s still freakin transcendent to this day. Victory or Death

You hit it right on the money. I've been saying this for a while now.

The hardest thing is jumping between the different ranges and some songs are done in several.

GnR songs are much harder to sing because of that than AC/DC imo.

Sure AC/DC is no easy feat it demands a lot of power all the time. Axl has proven with AC/DC his voice can hold the power.

People need to give it a rest. He performs a 3 hour show at many ranges and does it well. I have no issue with understanding that.

  4. "Nobody wanted to do press and there was nothing to do press about".

He also mentions not needing press for GnR as it's basically successful on it's own where as he has to get out and promote the Conspirators.

I guess there wasn't any so called gag order as many assumed 😆😂😆😂😆

Sorry, I don’t agree. My reasons for Axl wanting to stay in the band, at least in a live capacity, are far more than the fact that it’s Axl. The shows with Axl were roughly 8 songs longer than a standard AC/DC setlist, and anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour longer time-wise. All of the songs that got added were extreme rarities - some not played in nearly 40 years, and one not ever played before (Touch Too Much). I’m an AC/DC fan first and foremost, having Axl was a massive bonus. But if it meant that they could really experiment with the setlist, and significantly expand the set and play some real deep cuts, I’m all for that. It’ll be hard for me to stomach going back to an 18 song, hour and 45 min set after seeing what we could have with Axl.

Buffalo was certainly the best of the six I saw vocally.

I was surprised to see many fans say the same as you even if it's true.

There are alot of fans who brought up the longer sets and songs they haven't heard.

  6. Great interview.

I've always loved how he dabs in horror stuff.

It gives me a headache how people think Axl is lazy because he sounded so well with AC/DC and claim he doesn't give the same effort in Guns.

I'm reminded of back in the day when he said they'd go into the studio and record a song and when they toured realize how hard some of them were to sing. Not sure of exact wording as it's been years ago he said it but maybe someone else remembers the exact words or quote.

Guns songs aren't easy to sing either. If he was being lazy he surely wouldn't be out there 3 plus hours singing and putting on a great show.

Please don't even go comparing Bon Jovi or whoever else you want to compare and claim they're older and sing just as good as they did 30 years ago.

I understand where he's getting at with the cleaner voice though many may not.

Either way I'm sure his vocal chords are more important than what anyone thinks anyway.

Slash said Axl found a way to not harm his vocals doing AC/DC. That same way may not work quite the same with Guns songs. It's not easy to explain as many are just gonna say but rasp this and that.

In fact Axl is known to have one of the greatest vocal ranges ever. No singer from AC/DC is. Guns songs go through several ranges in one song.  It's not an easy feat.

Sounds like the NitL tour is over. So perhaps the next tour will be named after an album. Time will tell.

Sorry if I come off bitchy I'm not intending to be it's been a long week.
