    uhm. no!

All of Slash solo stuff from 5o clock till WOF was great, maybe WOF not so much, but Snakepits, Slash and VR were great.

    Loaded was decent.

    Gilby stuff also very decent.

    N Outsiders fantastic. IMO

Do you have brain damage by any chance?

    Just kidding, agree to disagree.

I think Izzy's stuff is far and away the closest to classic GNR.

  2. All of the guys from GNR make pretty shitty solo albums.

I'm not that much of a fan of them, but in all honesty I have to say that Izzy's albums are the best, and the most reminiscent of classic GNR than any of the other guys- even Velvet Revolver!

I love Duff in GNR, but his solo output/Loaded is putrid...you'd have to have brain damage to enjoy that schlock.

Chinese Democracy had the luxury of many years in the making, a huge budget and "all star" cast so I'm sort of not figuring it into this.

  3. Sammy was/is a way better singer.

That said, the DLR songs and albums are the classic ones.

Ideally, I'd like then to get Sammy (and Mike) back and do a set that was mostly DLR numbers, like what they did in Van Hagar but in reverse

I could be wrong on the year. Might have been '89. I tried to look it up on Setlist but couldn't find it. I know it was '91 or earlier, cuz I wasn't 21, I know that. We got busted on the way home and the trooper made us dump a cooler full of beer out on the side of the road! My buddy was able to empty the weed out of his pocket without being seen though, so that was a bonus...

If the bass player was Mike Inez (long curly/frizzy hair, now known as a member of Alice In Chains) it was No More Tears/90's.

If the bass player was Geezer Butler or Bob Daisley, it was 89.

It had it's problems, but nothing I couldn't overlook.

Yeah it wasn't perfect, for example the crap that the heroine went through (and somehow survived) at the last bit of the movie was pushing it.

Head and shoulders above any of the Alien movies since Aliens as far as I'm concerned.

  6. Nothing against her personally, but the less we hear of her/the second keyboard spot the better.

Just like three guitars, two people on keys really isn't necessary in Guns N Roses.

Now, in saying that I know someone is going to come in with that explanation that Axl came up with about the three guitars but in all honesty that's fucking bullshit.

"But without Pitsman they couldn't play Madagascar" or some other bollocks.

    Hooray.

I've never understood the argument that the demo's are better. Maybe I'm misunderstanding? People keep saying the demo's sound more raw sounding, but isn't that the case with every demo recorded ever when compare to their finished, polished album counterparts? I understand they have less layers but they're the exact same songs lol.

It's misleading to call them "demos"...they are leaks, not demos.

I always wondered why some people on this forum keep talking about songs that not even leaked? Like 'The General' and other rumored tracks.. Like they have already heard the songs :P

Cue Rovin and Wasted to start talking about the tracklisting of CD II, with all the songs 99.9% of us (including them) have never heard.

  9. Obviously GNR

    Bowie

    Iggy Pop

    Blue Oyster Cult

    classic Alice Cooper

classic Black Sabbath and classic Ozzy

    Led Zeppelin

    Hendrix

    Pink Floyd

    classic KISS

    GWAR

    Mr Bungle

I also know the Metallica albums up to Load pretty much off by heart, even though I haven't really listened to Metallica for about 15 years or so.
