What bothers me is that Axl has so much left in him still. If you listen to the AC/DC and the moments he shines on GNR songs, he still has loads of power, range and versatility compared to guys like Bon Jovi, Hetfield, Plant, Brian Johnson etc. He is clinging to habits and not performing at his best. A combination of down tuning and reworking a few songs, with a conscious effort to move away from the falsetto would lead to Axl being a monster for 10 + years.

Yeah, I feared that could happen. Truth is the old games are a whole level below the last one. This GOW is pretty much a masterpiece imo.

Once you run out of stuff to do you could try Give God of War difficulty. It's really soul crushing, so the experience as a GNR fan for the last 10 years should come very handy

2016 we were lucky that the ACDC thing coincided with GNR reunion Bc it gave Axl a bit of that motivation we had been missing and brought about some good performances that I’m not sure would have happened without ACDC.

Topics that will be covered: AFD box, other people's music, superficial perceptions of the reunion "yeah, it feels great" 

At this point I'd only care if it was Axl. I'm sure it will probably be Slash or Duff in the best case scenario, with zero discussion about anything really interesting, with topics around gear, guitar riffs, other musicians, how great it is to be together.

I'll probably attempt beating her again in a few days. I don't think I have a whole lot left to do after that. 

I did pick up GoW 3 Remastered though. I've never played a GoW game before, so hopefully it'll be fun to go back and play through 3 Remastered. 

The queen is the toughest challenge the game offers, so you've done well leaving her last. It takes patience and plenty of tries to beat her.

Hope you enjoy GoW 3, but the previous games are very different from this one. They are straight up action games, with linear design, a much more violent and less mature story. GoW 3 also picks up after a cliffhanger with Kratos right in the middle of the whole thing he is waging. I had a blast when I played it, it's a great game!

As wanker as they get imo. Lacks charisma, carries itself with arrogance, throws around obscenes amounts of money every year, is often benefitting from shady refereeing.

It baffles me how anyone who isn't born in Madrid and a lifelong Real Madrid fan could actually support them today. Liverpool has invested cleverly on a genius manager, found gems in players and is fully providing them with a platform to make the step into the world class level (Salah, Firmino), while playing attractive football and beating the odds.

Muspelheim is a set of challenges. Each big sword stuck on the ground provides one or two from a total of six. You need to complete every single one to get access to the Valkyrie. Once you defeat her you open up harder challenges, leading up to an ultimate gauntlet. Rewards are massive and allow you to eventually fully upgrade the muspelheim armor sets.

If you want to complete the Valkyries favor you'll have to beat the muspel one. She is a tough bastard, that one. You might come out of the battle feeling, eh, unworthy...

I reckon you still has loads and loads of stuff to do. Did you do Muspelheim and Nilfheim? You should, as they will provide you with the very best gear (and best looking too).

You will need it for the Valkyries, trust me.

Wish (within realistic possibilities): a few changes on the setlist, new covers in, deep cuts being swapped, old covers out, perhaps You're Crazy etc. An reasonably in shape Axl performing close to 2016 level (particularly NA leg).

Expect: the very same show, with Axl starting the tour horribly and failing to reach even the "heights" of 2011-2017.

Axl lost range since 2012 and actually during this tour. It may be temporary, but it's pretty clear.

In 2017 his voice started to crack on the high notes where he managed to keep the rasp even after 2011 - parts such as the Better bridge, the ending of YCBM. He stopped going for those shows a bit during the year, both in terms of how high he went and how much rasp he used. The voice cracks started with AC/DC, where he used this specific voice a lot, so probably got a bit worn down.

In the last few shows it came back a bit - in TWAT at the forum you can see him hesitate, then go for rasp (for the first time in a the year in this song), but not for the high note.

Band is dead at this point tbh. Axl and Slash being together was cool and all, and Axl really kicked it up a notch in 2017 with his performance.

What we have at this point is Axl mickeying his way through 3/4 of an ancient set list night after night with Slash by his side - with confirmation that slash will release music with his other band.

At this point I hope Axl goes off with Angus, so we can hear him on stuff he is actually passionate about, using what's left of his awesome voice to it's full capabilities.

Wow, really? I spent a few weeks away from this and not reading much about GNR and this is what happened...

Pretty much buries any chance of GNR going anywhere exciting for the foreseeable future. 

How awesome would this reunion of sorts be if Axl still sounded like this impersonator

It's a song that needs sharp vocals though. I don't think Axl can perform it properly at this point.

But do you really think he's telling the truth? Not saying he's a liar, but if you were a rockstar would you tell people your voice is shot? Or would you be like "Yeah I'm doing that on purpose to piss the fans off"

We've been waiting for him to sound like 2010 since 2010 lo. It's not going to happen. The best we can realistically hope for is probably something close to 2016.

The more I listen to the Forum soundboard the more I find to like about Axl's performance. He sounds good all the way up to jungle, jungle included. His usual weaknesses appeat in songs such as TWAT, YCBM, but he adds rasp and reaches for the high notes on the outros. The voice cracks that plagued him in 2017 seem to be almost gone.

I don't think his voice is gone anymore, he ended 2017 on a 2016-ish level, with a bit of tiredness in the equation, but rasping stuff such as Paradise City, something he had not done in years. I wonder if he got dragged into rehearsals or recordings with AC/DC late 2017 and that had something to do with his return to form.

Listen to the full soundboard, Axl ended the tour on a relatively strong note. Pushing himself, sounding good on some of the songs, but with a clearly tired voice. Let's hope his rests now.
