I’ve read somewhere that next songs are Brownstone Jungle and Better
Better be 2016 if that’s the case...

I dont think they said weekly. Someone correct me if I am wrong
Fernando mentioned something like that but he never confirmed that it was a concrete plan.

People post stuff like this and then unironically wonder why TB avoids here and ignores our suggestions.
Buddy, TB has done more than enough to earn their bad reputation amongst fans.

Seems like most of the new faces in this forum from the last few years are generally more positive. I don’t think they understand the bullshit us fans have endured for decades...

They must be posting videos from different legs of the NITL tour. So it makes sense that the 3 songs picked from the more recent show were easiest on axls voice. When they post 2016 stuff, that’s when we’ll get Jungle, Paradise, etc...

Well, all this confirms is that this is Slash’s band. He’s the big draw. And I’m an Axl guy.

Fellas... watch the trailer on their social media... snippets of Its So Easy, CD, and DTJ... from 20 fucking 20... expectations are super low, per usual.

1. What’s taking so long?
2. Reddit, Discord, is Fernando going to be telling lies all over Tiktok next?

Slash better let Robin and Bucket both keep at least 1 of their signature solos on the reworked CD stuff... if and when released.

Axl is close to 60
Reunion is now over 4 years old
The last unheard new song was played in 2006
The last studio album was in 2008
The last new song before that in 1999
Every studio recording Axl has been featured on in over 20 years can be heard in the time span less than a feature movie
Axl has been finished as an artist for years at this point. They reunited the minimum amount of the band to be an acceptable touring/legacy/nostalgia outfit
Things since Chinese,
3 presidents were in office, three entire terms nearly
An entire new Star Wars trilogy was announced and released with spinoffs
GNR's "new" lineup started touring in 2009, broke up after 4 years. GNR reunited, has toured for 4 years
The first iPhone came out the calender year before Chinese released. Smart phones have long been the norm since then
Facebook was just taking off when Chinese released
I don’t know why you’re trying to put me into a terrible depression, please stop lol

Not true. Rock The Rock was recorded sometime between late-2017 and early-2018.
Wow, the source I had in my head for saying 2016 was that podcast episode. I must’ve misremembered.

I’m definitely not against the possibility that the raspy hip hop TIL thing is from after CD release. However, he would have pulled this vocal in studio in around 2006, wouldn’t he. I’d say his 2006 and 2010 were on a par, more or less. Also, you can take any live 2018 and compare it with Rock the Rock (also 2018) – having heard the former, you wouldn’t guess he’d pull the latter.
So who knows. Absolutely awesome in any case, and way better than any other version (vocal-wise ofc) I’ve heard.Rock the Rock was recorded in 2016.

Dude, I try to give TB the benefit of the doubt some of the time. But fuck that. Even the hired guns with the usual, “Were hitting the studio, I think maybe next year,” new album bullshit lies. What’s stopping these fuckers from just being honest. “We’re not putting any attention towards new music right now. We’re just loving playing these songs and having a good time every night on stage.” Why could that not be the answer from 2011-on?
and the worst of all. Fernando. Imagine knowingly lying to all of the clamoring fans, that he is very in touch with, and just going on and on with it. Just be straight up. For once.

I've heard it's not even worth listening to.
It’s worth listening to in the aspect of hearing what Axl has truly sounded like for the last 2 years...

Hells Bells with 1991 chainsaw rasp... Bliss
-
@Gambit83 Yes, I second that question. More specifically, I would ask Doug if he ever had talks with Axl about his voice from 1994-2004. Even ask about how his voice was so raspy and like a chainsaw in 91. Doug may be willing to share some awesome thoughts and stories. That is, as long as Doug is cool with this topic.

How is this a thread? Everyone knows shit changed at Rio 2011. And still, 90% of the time when he performed since then he was giving it pretty much 100%, just limiting his rasp for the long term health of his voice.

In case you didn't notice - the apocalypse is upon us. No zombies and shotguns, just washing hands, wearing facemasks and being under quarantine, but still. In six months, people will have other things to care about than rock concerts. The major players in the band are all pushing 60, Axl's medication, Slash's heart, Duff's pancreas...I wish them nothing but the best, but if any of them catches the virus before there is a cure/vaccination chances are they not gonna make it. So yeah, this could actually very well be the last GNR show ever.
Damn... you need some reality!

There is a really good audience Recording of it. That’s the Turin one. Pretty sure it was only ever performed in 1993. Axl put so much soul into those performances. And slashes guitar solo is so perfect. So much feeling.
-
That was one of his toughest shows vocally. He definitely had a cold or something.
-
To answer why 2016 is so highly praised compared to 2012.
1. Recency bias2. Reunion
3. Axl/DC and Axls reputation to the general public completely changing.
and by the way, AC/DC songs, particularly Brian songs, are not easier to sing than guns songs. 30% of the GNR setlist is Axl using his lower register. There is absolutely none of that with Brian songs. They’re 100% rasp the entire time, 70% high rasp and 30% mid range rasp. Half of those AxlDC performances were pride And motivation from Axl. He’s been autopilot with GNR for the most part since 2011. At that same time, if he was as motivated with GNR in 2016, he could’ve properly rehearsed and trained to be raspy through the setlist as he did in 2010. Axl is a master of his voice; and he knows damn well he could sing GNR raspy if he wanted to. He subconsciously goes Mickey to preserve his voice. He loves performing and wants to keep doing it as long as possible.

So when it’s the week of each of these shows, how much can we expect General Admission tickets to drop? I’ll go if I can scoop up 2 general admissions for 50-100 bucks each.
