UG is saying that, according to Slash france (probably related to Gn'R france) that Slash has cleared all his agenda for summer 2016 supposedly when the reunion is taking place:

Why would Slash write and record an album and not bother to promote it?

(Because he's rejoining GNR, knows there's no chance of releasing anything with Axl anytime before 2020 so is going to release his own album to cash in on all that GNR hype. That's why!)

If this gives any pointers to GNR's plans for 2016, Slash and Duff will be playing Chinese Democracy and there could be more to their return than nostalgia. CD2 starts now!

Or... there is no future for GNR as a band in any incarnation anymore and what Axl and Slash have been talking about, through their lawyers, is whoring the brand name to death now Axl is retired and Slash's wife has taken all his money.

Nope, I've never considered the possibility, not for a reunion tour. The masses want AFD with a dash of UYI. As with any other ageing rock band, new material just gets in the way of the good stuff.

At least Guns N' Roses only have one greatest hits. (For now, anyway...)

On the very remote chance we were days away from an announcement I think the events in Paris last night would delay it, several other bands have cancelled their tours and it would probably seem bad timing right now.

It also puts a different perspective on things. I mean, if there was a date scheduled in Paris for next year, how is Axl supposed to come out and scream 'you're gonna die' now? Or at any other concert venue in the near future? ISIS have just introduced a much more real and dangerous jungle than the one GNR used to sing about.

Probably best to have Civil War as an opener now...

In terms of a world tour setlist, I think Frank is a better bet than Steven and Matt combined from a performance point of view. But then Buckethead and Bumblefoot can shred better than Slash. You either want GNR warts and all or you want what Axl has been giving us all this time.

He was a member as far as The Spaghetti Incident booklet is concerned (as opposed to Teddy Zig Zag Andreadis and the other touring members listed in the thank yous).

Looking back on all the quotes (and departures) from various NuGNR members, it does look like everyone has known for some time exactly what's going on other than Tommy. Maybe Axl didn't like playing second fiddle to the Replacements...

Frank and Fortus might be called upon if/when needed, Dizzy will continue to do what he's been doing since 1990 and Pitman doesn't do anything.

If nothing else, either he's confirming the band he left is dead or he's shitting on his former bandmates.

If there's a tour in 2016, I don't think it will be hugely extensive so there's no reason for Izzy not to turn up and grab his piece of the cash pie.

This is another point to consider. I will never understand how people who criticize Axl for performing like shit are - at the same time - excited for a reunion. Playing with Slash would fix his voice or overall performance? He would still be utter shit, and I personally wouldn't spend one dollar on that.

I wouldn't like to see Slash and Duff embarrassing themselves on stage by playing with Axl.

If they open with It's So Easy and Mr Brownstone, we can believe for a few minutes.

As much as fans on here might disagree, GNR playing 30 year old songs is all the world wants for the next two years. Even if they're interested in doing another album, there's no point in making this tour about it.

I have to wonder what 'days away' means in the world of GNR.

We won't get a new album but if CD sales are being talked about I reckon we'll get a proper Best Of in 2016 with a new song tagged on the end.

There was also the Reading Festival where DJ Ashba blatantly taunted the promoters in the press beforehand about how they're GNR and they do what they want.

Except they got the power cut and where once there might have been a threat of a riot, there was meh from the crowd.

There could be adverts for a reunion world tour in today's papers, tickets could be on sale, and we still wouldn't hear from Axl.
