I can agree that this would’ve been a good time to debut a new song if there’s going to be any chance of a new album this year. But to be honest it’s a one off show in the middle of a 5 month break so going with the same set list would’ve been the easiest way to deal with it. I didn’t expect any new songs before it so I’m not any more pissed off about it.
For me the first show of the SA leg will determine wether I give up on new music or not.

As I was on my phone, once I went into GIS it transferred me to my TM app which had only Nightrain options. I deleted the app and went into GIS and when it directed me to the web version of TM it had the GIS presale options.
What a pain but got tickets so happy in the end.
Thanks for mentioning GIS site. Just went and got ma ticket. So fuckin happy as this will be ma first time seeing them. 27 years in the waiting

For the TRNSMT Festival it says 50,000. That's a couple of weeks after GNR.
Ok thanks if it’s close to that then I’m just wondering if availability will be ok. I reckon it could be close to a sellout

How many people will be able to fit in Glasgow green ? Just wondering what availability will be like. I’m tempted to grab a ticket on public sale on Friday but I’ve read in here plenty of times just to hold off till prices go down.

Ohh yes roll on Friday hopefully I’ll get my first chance to see GNR for the first time

Yeah...
The only thing everyone agreed upon in the interviews of that time is that there was a lot of material accumulated through the years (some of it dating from Slash's last sessions) that was worked, reworked and re-recorded, which I believe is true. So I don't think Richard and Dizzy were lying; they just chose to show the "bright" side talking about what they knew about the material that existed and generating hope. But they really had no idea if or when any of it was going to be released and what Axl was thinking.
Yeah it was around 2014 when fortus spoke of playing “ an old Slash riff “ for the next album so I dare say there was truth in they’re comments ( pretty much what we’re seeing just now )

Personally I don't think Axl ever really wanted to release an album with Ashba and Bumblefoot. And, like I said earlier, he probably was already thinking about a reunion in 2014 (he even mentioned in the Globo interview that the discussion between his and Slash's "people" had started by then, before the two of them talked in person a year later) and of the distant possibility of reworking CD II with the reunited lineup, if the reunion finally materialised.
All the "noise" about new music with the Ashba-Bumblefoot lineup between 2010-15 mainly came from Fortus and Dizzy (who probably felt they had to say something when asked in interviews - unlike Tommy, for example, who didn't answer those question in a way that left much room for optimism) and from "sources" and rumours, which people ended up believing as facts.

I agree totally with you. I’ve always thought that a new album talk back then was a distraction to take away the focus on a reunion now that Duff was kinda back in the lineup. There was rumour around then bumblefoot told a fan that Axl and Slash had already spoke by then and the then current line up was finished

Had Slash said the same things he said in interviews last year then I would still have hope of something new coming out but this seems like a less optimistic answer from Slash. Axl /TB obviously are the problem.
I don’t know if the leaks are going to be used as an excuse or not but had Axl released music like normal people then nobody would’ve made a deal from it. Axl only has himself to blame for that. I’m hoping Slash is just fucking with us.

Axl Rose - fucking GNR up since 93 - present day. Slash’s next album will be with SMKC next year.

That's a solid theory actually.
If they're looking at this as a one off pay check, then Axl will sound as unprepared as usual.
If they're looking at this as a big promotion platform, he'll probably sound excellent
Totally agree I’m hoping that if there’s new music then that’s enough for Axl to give a shit and get motivated. New music is the only thing I think that’ll make Axl go out and deliver

Astonishing myself, I'm actually maintaining hope until March, and think this Miami show will see nothing change. I'll feel like you do now about the first date of the March tour I think.
That’s how I’m starting to feel. I’m still feeling optimistic just now but if nothing no new songs get played at this show then my optimism will start to drain. If there’s nothing new by the March shows then it’s going to be hard to be positive about it.
-
The only way I think an album will ever be confirmed is by Slash , GNR social media page or a Susan fuck up on instagram. Given Axl talks to nobody he’s the last one that would speak about it. The rest of the band are just there to give vague answers.
-
I’m still being optimistic for now on a new album coming out this year and I think an album could be more or less ready just now. But the big doubt for me is when is Axl ready to release it ? I’m hoping that Slash being back in the band is enough to get him to actually release new music
-
I wasn’t bothered about the leaks when they came out but it shows how sad things are in GNR world when fans have to pay 15 grand for 20 year old songs all because Axl doesn’t act like normal musicians do and release music. This shouldn’t need to be happening.

So most likely the Scottish date could be either the 23rd or 25th June at Bellahouston park. Greenday play 24th and the stage will be set up.
Any other theories?
Could be an option. I don’t know how available hampden park is because euro 2020 is being played across Europe and hampden is one of the stadiums to be used.

There will be a Scotland date. If you look at the tour dates, it's Holland (NL), then a gap, then Ireland. There's only one place in between. It'll be the 24th or 25th June. If you read the press releases, Tottenham have some kind of exclusivity deal, so a Scotland date will have to be announced later on.
That’s what I’m hoping for , there’s enough time round the Ireland date to add a Scotland date.
-
So much for the rumoured Scotland date Frank supposedly mentioned, though with that said there’s space round the Dublin date for it to be added.
-
Yes unfortunately I think you’d be right I’ve kept optimistic this year about new music and said earlier on in the year that if there was no news by the end of the year on new songs then Slash is just talking the same as Fortus etc. The more new dates get announced the less likely recording a new album seems to be. I’m starting to lower my expectations now ☹️

Probably.
I can't see him going on a South Carolina radio station no-one in Europe can listen to to promote a European tour!
It's probably just a case of him not having anything to do at the moment to be honest, and having spare time.
Your probably correct but at the same time there’s the SA dates in March as well so maybe he’ll just mention that there’s a new tour happening next year starting there. No doubt there’ll be more dates in April somewhere as well. That’s how it’s shaping up anyway by the looks of it
-
The Slash interview being discussed in another thread is also this Friday , coincidence ?
Maybe Slash could be talking about a new tour next year because I don’t see what else he could talk about given there’s nothing happening with GNR for a little while.

They should dare to say themself! How hard is it to give fans some information about what's happening
If only GNR were like a normal band. Just about any other band in the world would be happy to announce a new tour and/ or a new album. If it was down to Slash and Duff I’m sure we would know more but unfortunately it’s down to Axl ☹️

On the positive side it doesn’t say it’s part of the “ never ending tour “
dare I say new tour with new music ?

PC was the first song I heard was around 87/ 88 when I was 9 or 10 years old. I remember my older brother coming into our room with and putting AFD on the record player. The only other song I remember hearing back then was Think About You. The first full album I heard was a cassette with UYI 1 on it that my friend copied me and that was around 93. That’s just after I started getting into GNR
-
I agree something should be done but the amounts of posts people have isn’t the answer. This is the biggest and busiest GNR forum out there. Alienating members on things like x amount of posts is going to gradually make the forum less active and will end up like the other forums and that’s what that sad waste of space on truth wants.
Personally I’m not a big poster but I don’t know why posters like myself should be excluding from discussions when I joined a bit before this whole YT strike started.
I think the first step should be to temporarily stop accepting new members till it’s sorted. Maybe then look at members who have joined since around the time it all kicked off with the videos. If there’s members in that group that have posted regularly then I don’t see why they should miss out too.

That’s how I’m viewing it. Until then I’m trying to look in a positive way that at least Your Crazy the lies version is going to be added plus with Dead Horse being played last night then there’s a good chance Locomotive could still be in the set list. If I see those songs played in Glasgow then I’ll be happy but obviously if there’s no new songs I’ll not help at being a bit disappointed. For me it’s year or nothing with new music.
