If possible, try to get yourself a hotel somewhere between the Livonia and downtown Detroit areas and join us at the pre-party!
Did you see the info about the part at my place? If you're in Dearborn I'm not too far from you at all, you're welcome to join us.
I would love to come to the party - thank you very much for the invite. I'll try to get the trip booked next week so everything is set in stone. Typically I stay in Madison Heights but I'll look for something a little closer down towards Livonia.

It looks like I may actually be making it to the Detroit show. I live in Connecticut, but the company I work for has a manufacturing facility in Ferndale. I found out today I have to make a business trip out there, so I'm trying to schedule it around the GnR show. They don't know that of course. So really my company will be paying for my airfare, hotel, and rental car to come see the show, having to do only minimal work while I'm there. I love it when a plan comes together.

I think it's great - a year ago I never would have thought I'd be seeing these guys (and gal) performing together, selling out stadiums, etc. So I'm pretty damn happy. My wallet isn't too happy right now, but it will recover.

I'm in for the 24th - section 115A, row 7, seat 1. One section over from where I'll be on the 23rd. I didn't even try for pit tickets for this one, as I have those for Philly and Foxboro 1 and my knees/ankles/hips will probably be junk after those two shows.

Haven't received my hard ticket for 7/19 Foxboro yet, hopefully soon though.

My buddy heard on 97.9 WLUP The Loop here in Chicago yesterday that Guns are set to announce a 2nd show Monday. Anyone else catch that?
No, but that's great if they do - hopefully a second one in a couple of other markets as well - Toronto, NJ, etc.

Another new AC/DC fb post up, another new round of bitching and moaning. It's like a mob mentality with this stuff. One person posts something crazy, then everyone seems to just pile on no matter how little sense it makes. I can understand the disappointment of not seeing Brian front the band after 36 years, but not the ridiculousness of the comments. Oh well, I'll enjoy seeing them live. Assuming I can get tickets.

Worst post ever lol Yes it's spelled Axl. You couldn't put that together from the millions of posts and internet articles that spell it that way. Not trying to be a dick tho lol
Of course i'm joking - I know how it's spelled.

Quick question everyone - I always thought GnR's lead singer spelled his name Axl, but based on the comments in the most recent AC/DC post I'm now convinced it's really Axle or Axel. Which is it? Thank you in advance for your help.

There's a new post on AC/DC's facebook page with a link to the Billboard article about Angus at Coachella. I haven't seen 1 response about the article, it's all 'Axl sucks' this and that. A few people posted their support for Axl, but the whining and bitching and moaning is really unbelievable. If that many people that threaten to get ticket refunds actually do, then we should have no problem getting tickets (NYC and/or Philly for me). I figured more people would post their support for Brian, but it's mostly whining.

Hallelujah. Looks like I'm going to be seeing AC/DC. If anyone who has a ticket to NYC or Philly doesn't like Axl filling in, I do, and will gladly buy your ticket. Christ, this is turning into an expensive year.

So as pumped as I am about being in GA Pit and waiting in line and everything that goes along with it, I'm sort of concerned about the merch situation. Obviously if you get there early and are on the barricade (not sure if that's possible without WTTJVIP passes), you don't want to give that up. I think there should be a way to let the dedicated get as good of a shot at the t-shirt(t-shirts if AiC is opening) of their choice as people who show up between the opener and main act. Not quite sure how that would work, but there's gotta be a way. Unless they have such a copious amount that they couldn't possibly sell out.
I was thinking about that myself. When. I saw U2 in NYC last year and had GA, I got there super early to get a place in line. The people in line pretty cool about letting people leave to go eat or head up to the merchandise stands outside the venue then get back in line where they were. Hopefully GnR will have something outside where we can do that.

Anyone know if Metlife, Toronto, or Chicago are getting a second show?
I haven't heard anything definite, but I sure hope so - Chicago certainly has enough open space for another show after and MetLife has 4 days between shows on either side. I can't believe I'm thinking about buying more tickets, but I most certainly am and will.
-
On Ticketmaster the Metlife Stadium show is now showing as sold out - if you go to buy tickets, under the drop down box it says 'This show is SOLD OUT' above where the VIP tickets are, which are also sold out. Another date please, GnR.

It looks like the 7/23 Metlife Stadium show is completely sold out now - I just checked on TM, and I can't pull up any single seats or any of the VIP packages. Hopefully this bodes well for an extra date there.

Whatever is optimal - sitting or standing, Axl sounded pretty good in my opinion. I sound awful whether I'm sitting or standing, it makes no difference.

The fact that his ass was plastered to the chair for most of the show and still managed still get rave reviews from most of the outlets, still proves that GNR can be a force. Not many people can pull that off. Kudos to the entire band. That's all.
For sure. Signing while sitting down is not the most optimal position; for someone with the power that Axl has he seemed to pull it off quite well.

Me and my buddy Rio are travelling from Australia for this tour. This will be our first stop. Never been to New York before. I hope it likes to party.
I'm wetting myself with excitement.
New York definitely likes to party, 24/7. I'm sure you'll have a great time here. What other shows are you going to?

DC looks like all the cheap tix are sold, the $285s in the lower bowl closer to the stage are embarassingly plentiful as are many of the $150 tix in the 2nd level near the stage. Definitely keeping an eye on this as a 2nd show option if demand doesn't pick up as, out of all the shows in the north east, this one could be a buyers market.
I actually thought about DC too, but I've already spent quite a bit on tickets. Closer to show time I may if I have the $$. Who knows. I may just hold out for a second date at MetLife Stadium in NJ. Of course the tickets only just went on sale, plenty of time for them to sell in DC. IMO it's the price that's keeping them from selling quicker than they are in some markets.

My trip is booked, I'll be out in the area from the 22nd through the 24th. Staying in Madison Heights. No ticket to the show yet, but will pick one up when payday hits at the end of next week. That's a consequence of spending way too much on the GnR shows out my way, along with McCartney, ELO, etc. I'll probably leave work by 4 at the latest on the night of the show, sooner if I can. Generally my company's facility is a ghost town after 3 or so. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone. This will be my first GnR show is just over 25 years.
