just for the record, for all those who read this thread NOT to talk politics, but people out there really concerned if they should spend a lotta dough, buy a ticket a year in advance in a world where rules change daily just to be told to go home at the venue door for not being vaccinated (while other so called GNR fans stand there watching) - I am holding back too.

I ain't buyin no tickets no more until it's made public / sure and official that people do not need to get vaccinated to see a gig. And don't go political on each other, boys. It ain't worth it. There are various reasons why people don't / won't / can't get vaccinated and not everybody not vaccinated believes the world is flat. Besides , all yous vaccinated ones, what are you so damn scared of? You afraid of being at the same venue as I am? Why? after all, you are vaccinated, lol

oh, and by the way, don't be surprized if you get vaccinated some time in 2021 but they won't let you get outta the house in 2022

Here's what I don't understand...if you are vaccinated...what are you concerned about?   I mean if you don't want to get coronavirus and are vaccinated, then don't go.  What does other people being vaccinated have to do with you?  It's already been proven vaccinated individuals can infect other individuals as can non-vaxxed.  The vaccine is to prevent you from getting serious symptoms....you're vaccinated you are protected.  Quit worrying about what others do.

And, while I am at it, I am vaxxed, I got vaxxed the minute I could.  But, what others decided to do does not affect me and what I decide to do.  Also, this is not a discussion about whether other folks should consider getting vaccinated or not.  This is simply a query as to why you are worried about others being vaccinated if you are vaccinated?

Touring is were artists make the money these days.

Not sure why the focus is on attendence in the US. The US has been and is continuing to be affected by COVID-19.

A large percentage of the population would have been directly affected by COVID-19.

Proof of vaccination will become a standard requirement in all of our life's.

Live Nation don't seem to have an issue with shows not selling out, i would suggest they as the promoter would have accepted that risk and happy to take the financial loss on the chain.

They will recover those costs from other country markets.

The way Australian is going with a daily increase in community cases and unfortunately COVID-19 deaths, the Australian leg of the tour is looking unlikely to go ahead.

These things are outside of the bands control.

New Zealand is safe at the moment, with no community cases, but my hope is starting to fade, as its highly unlikely if the Australian tour does not go ahead, the band won't fly to New Zealand for two shows.

The cost would outway the financial return.

Thanks for quoting me, but your response really has nothing to do with what we were actually discussing.  Have a good day

You know, multiple things can be true at once

Sure, but those just are not the reasons these shows aren't selling well, as was previously mentioned Hershey had whole sections shut off, this was A Satrurday show (in a venue with a capacity of 30K)......other bands are selling very well during covid and on Sundays.  They are just excuses for the facts.  Did a few people not go b/c it's a Sunday...sure.  Did a few people not go b/c of COVID..sure.  But, other shows by other bands are selling well..   This tour is over-priced and in venues that this band cannot possibly expect to fill having toured in almost every market they are playing since 2016 with only a single that just came out.

I wouldn't be surprised if Axl wouldn't release Absurd until it was played live and he saw how it went over. I mean, he even made a crack before they played it about it being 'absurd' they're even trying it.  Odd way to introduce you're new single.

So they played it once live before they decided to release it (Fenway), at MetLIfe he announced they were releasing it before it was played.  What, exactly was Axl's gauge for how it "went over"?  Did they take some poll we aren't aware of?  Did they measure crowd response?   I mean what the fuck does this even mean?

Also I don't think handing tickets out at a casino and still not filling means much. The average Sunday lunchtime casino visitor is most definitely not a guns n roses fan. You couldn't pay those people to go. The show was low in attendance because this was the third date for the show, covid is flaring significantly and mask mandates are a possibility, and because it's a Sunday night show.

This was low selling in attendance like the other shows b/c Guns N Roses isn't an act that can move ticktets in stadiums like this at the prices they are charging in anyplace other than the largest markets (in the US at least).  Stop saying it's bc of covid or being a Sunday or any other BS excuses you want to come up with.

    What happened during Jungle?

Probably one of the few songs in the set where they should pick up the tempo. At least it would be over with sooner!

I think they should just play it like the record....I mean the song is a masterpiece, just play it like the record.  that would make the extended KOHD a lot more tolerable and they could fit another song (or two) in.

That the way it would have been if their show here in Minneapolis was still at Target Field (Baseball Stadium) but it was moved the  XCEL Arena (hockey arena). It would be better at The Gophers football stadium outside.

I'm fairly certain that is the way it will be here in Indy at Lucas Oil Stadium...our arena (banker's life) is closed for remodeling.  I have a friend who works for the mayor and they wanted to move it there...but they can't.

Doesn't that have like half the capacity of where GNR is playing tonight? I know Comerica is huge and is like 40K seats but don't recall if thats for baseball or concerts. Even still the stadium is much larger

Capacity at Deer Crrek is now just shy of 25K, used to hold almost 27K but they added some amentieis, etc.   So, my point remains, there are clearly not going to be 25K people at Comerica...and if there are, most of them bought extremely discounted tickets or have been given free tickets.   Saying it's a Sunday and covid just doesn't work, that may account for like a 5K drop in attendance at a place like Comerica.  There just isn't enough interest in GnR at this time to fill a stadium, it's not hard to understand.

Not trying to defend but a Sunday night with COVID numbers going back up probably has something to do with this

Unlikely.....Phish is playing their third sold night in a row at Deer Creek tonight.  No excuses, most of us said this is what was going to happen.

Truth be told, they should have whipped it out for the first show. That's what a sane band does. They play the new song from the very first date on. But in this case, since the song is shit, audience at the first show got lucky.

Hell has frozen over....we agree on something :)

So far based on what I have seen, I am still choosing the Black Crowes show on the 19th in LA over the GNR show.  I don't need to see a worse sounding Axl singing the same set I saw 2016 but with Absurd in it lol.  I think I will choose a different musical experience with a singer that is killin' it vocally right now

All I can say is I feel bad for anyone who didn't catch GNR in that first year of the reunion, sadly it doesn't seem like Axl's voice is gonna bounce back at this point

Saw the Black Crowes here on Sunday.  Solid show, not sure Chris Robinson is "killing it", but it was a good show.  I'm going to see Guns here in September, but only b/c I have friends here who wanted to go see them and I said sure, why not.  Could have easily passed on them.    If I had not had already bought a ticket everything about their performances this year so far would have dissuaded me from doing so.  Simply change Hard Skool as the new tune they are playing as opposed to HOT STEAMING PILE OF SHIT, I mean Absburd and that all changes, I'd be highly inclined to go see them.  The show is the same I've seen 4 times already with longer jams, tunes I and most everyone wants to hear not being played and a song that is just garbage thrown in the mix.  But, I've already got my ticket, so that's all a moot point lol.

amen... honestly I don't mind them working on some of Axl's ideas but this was just terrible.. Not only is it a terrible song but the fact that it is the first single and Slash and Duff have no creative input and are just playing their replacements parts makes it worse..

It has all the terrible aspects of CD in it.. Terrible mix.. Over produced.. Stupid samples.. That slow part is horrific..  They could have made it decent by re-doing it completely and changing some things to give it more of a Guns N' Roses vibe but they didn't...

Could not have said it better....thank you!
