I think Slash comes with many musical advantages over any other guitar player just cause it's Guns and Axl. It just won't be the same cause Axl said it was "done". Like the vision came together with those players. Musically it's been said, just not heard if that makes sense.
Not sure what I prefer. Bottom line is as long as he'll actually release another album I trust that he'll use the right pieces to form the Gn'R puzzle. It will probably get a boost in the more rocking shit from Slash and Duff.
I don't know what's more interesting to me: a virgin CD ll, or buttfucked by everyone. And also, I feel like it's really a double album, there potentially more rocking tunes that just didn't get the chance to be released.
Slash can bring his thing to it though and that's hard to resist. The Use Your Illusion line up kinda but with a musical direction this time, Axl's tinkering mostly covered. I trust Axl to bring it to a high standard of quality, just not sure about actually releasing it.
Hope that Axl will find the confidence to unleash his music soon.

Most of those are easy for anyone to strip to. Just add some 'interpretive dance' as well.
Nothing beats stripping to "police and hooray for tolerance!s" and "everything smells like horseshit" though.

Duff's just putting the finishing touches to his GNR hair.
Duff is slowly turning into David Bowie.

Google, bucket head chicken coup, porn. There was a great classic rock story written in like 06/07 about all this.
Basically bucket recorded his parts in a chicken coup in the studio (Axl had it built) and watched porn to get inspired. Axl had wolf pups and brought them down to the studio, one of them took a dump in buckets chicken coup... Bucket gets inspired by the smell of the dog shit/porn. It's a whole thing, worth searching for the full story!
Yeah I know that story, just forgot about the wolves and shit

Bucket was watching porn and flinging his cum around and Axl brought his wolf down to the studio?
Wait, what?

Lots of people don't get it, but it always seemed to me the songs on Chinese are like a compilations of different sounds and instrumentals (almost like samples) forming a unified and cohesive whole. Like a painting or mosaic.
Like when Axl was tinkering with those Brian May solos, he glued them together and made it sound completely different. That's the true beauty of CD material I think, even if it sounds messy or unorganic at times.

Atlas has been described as being something between November Rain and 70's glam rock.
Best description ever.

It always amazes me how they could put a gag order on someone no longer with the band
Axl will delete his overdubs from future albums if he talks.

I can play it only from My Music, but they've deleted from the albums
Interesting. It's gone from Apple Music too. Both SA shows and Ritz 88.

Slash hasn't posted anything GNR related since the shows started(the last thing was the rehearsal photo). And now suddenly two GNR related items in two days?
Somethings coming..
Nah. That skull artwork is not GNR related, quicky googled the pic and found it on Pinterest.

CD is kind of a geopolitical break up album. You can take it about a chick or like this righteous stand against opression.
Slash likes RATM so maybe Chi dem is perfect for him.
Well he did say that CD is a great artistic statement from Axl, hopefully that didn't change.
I think we tend to forget that majority of AfD lyrics are now dated as hell too, but Axl still sings them live.

I love Izzy's work. I was very excited when I got to see him play with Aerosmith a few years ago...it isn't often that anyone gets to see him play live. I don't think anyone can deny that without Izzy, Guns N' Roses would not have existed -- or at the very least, would not have had the sound and songs that it did. Anyone who loves AfD has a debt of gratitude to Izzy. However, he hasn't been really involved with the band since 1991 and in the interim the other three have been the ones who have been there for the long haul. They absolutely deserve that Big Three title.
Agree. The Big Three does not neccessarily mean that Izzy was not important to the band, because without him it wouldn't fucking exist. But he left a looong time ago and it seems he's not coming back anytime soon. Meanwhile Axl, Slash and Duff own all rights to the band and now they're back at the helm moving forward.
I'm sure if Izzy was back full time, there would be no need for "big three" or even "big four", because then it would be simply original GNR.

I feel like Chi dem and Madagascar are too CD. Slash could Kashmir Madagascar up. The guitar parts on Chi dem are very Slash but the lyrics but nobody probably knows.
Lots of people are saying the lyrics on CD songs are about Slash or the old band, but to me they are vague enough to be applied universally. Didn't Axl say so in one of his chats?
-
I think with Slash back DTJ is a given. The extended flamenco outro is a pure Slash showcase and gives Axl plenty of time to catch his breath
-
Slash has played on some musically diverse stuff over his career and lots of the songs on Appetite and Illusions were originally co-written by people outside of the band, so I don't think it should be a problem for him at all.

Didn't AIC open for Guns in 2006 too? I know they played 3-4 of the same festivals but I think they also opened a Guns headline show?
Yea I can see that, they have a handful of 'chant' type songs. Actually, the first time I saw them they were opening for Alice In Chains
Maybe they'll be opening for AIC opening for GNR

Were Monster Truck rumored to open? Never heard anything about that. But I saw them a week ago and they're an awesome live band (their albums suffer from production but I've seen them twice now and they're a different beast). Would've liked that but I'm happy with AIC, saw them a few years ago and they were pretty good, it should be a great night in Vegas (not that it wouldn't have been, but now I know I won't have to sit through a shitty opener).
Saw Monster Truck opening for Slash and they were great for a few songs. But it got repetitive very quickly, even for an opening band.
But AIC is very cool, starting to get jelly about this whole Vegas thing, although it's expensive as hell. How much does this Nightrain membership cost? Might try my luck

Nahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. It wasn't changed recently by any means as people noticed this at least a year ago. I'm sure this was just something in the metadata that refers to the 2 other covers.
They should re-release it with the red hand cover at least. That chinese bike doesn't do it justice at all.

Maybe I'm naive, but I think Axl will sound good. He will make up for any voice issues with pure energy and that's what counts. Remember Asian tour in 2009?
