I love UGK. Where I'm from they're legends. Bun B is cold as ice and Pimp C is one of the most copied mc's ever.

I go back and forth between that album and their self titled as my favorite.

I mean that's Pimp C singing the hook. That is some trill shit right there.

Hell yeah man......Cardi B is someone i can think of straight away who stole Pimps style but you can get away with that shit now

  3. Hell no, from personal experience seeing them on this tour he was the star of the show. At the end of the day he is an improvising soloist live and he's never played solos the same way twice, sometimes it  comes off and sometimes not

  4. Well technically no, but i went to see Iron Maiden with a mate and i'm not even a big fan..... but he talked me into it and then the cunt goes and passes out about 2 songs in from overindulging! So pretty much flying solo for a couple of hours.

  5. have fun, don't pressure yourself. Learn easy one note cool riffs....Smoke on the water(Deep Purple), Come as you Are(Nirvana), Walk(Pantera)etc....yknow ones you can crank up and that have a good rythm....rythm is key and you can really lock into those without being Malcom Young if ya know what i mean. Learn the basic chords obviously

To me Izzy's sound on OIAM sounds like small tweed Fender practice amp cranked. Possibly 8-inch or max 10-inch speaker. I would guess 50s or early 60s tweed vibrolux or champ. You can get pretty similar sound with Fender Champion 600 with volume maxed out. DTJ I would say bigger tweed amp cranked, deluxe or twin.

Yeah you're probably onto something i think it's delving into that vintage territory.....speaking of Fenders man i'd love to crank a Deluxe Reverb at some point in my life

Using a Wah pedal as a filter (turn it on and leave it half cocked like Jimmy Page would often do) can get you into Money For Nothing territory, as can rolling back the tone knob for the "honey tone" as Clapton called it.

Yeah Slash used the wah trick on UYI for his lead tone, Locomotive and Garden of Eden come to mind.....think on Always On The Run (Kravitz) also for his rythm tone.

I don't even think that Izzy knows.

I suspect that Slash fiddled with the knobs, as it is no secret he wanted Izzy to have a heavier sound.

Izzy's solo albums are generally much less agressive in tone.

Slash is fiddling with Izzys knobs, Duff is taking away bits of Stevens kit....how they functioned as a band god only knows

He used to use Carvin amps and he's using some kind of Mesa on AFD. Apart from that not much is known about his rig.

yeah i'm pretty clued up about his regular set up, Mark Series Mesa (i own one) and Carvin. It's his tone on those 2 tracks in particular i can hear a big difference.

  11. .....and in particular his tone on One In A Million and Double Talkin Jive, which are two of his standout rythm performances also. Any players out there have any idea how he might of achieved it?. It's a weird tone that he only used on these two tracks, it's kinda similar to the Money For Nothing (Dire Straits) tone but kinda more aggressive. I never listened to his solo catalogue extensively because to be honest i find it abit bland but if he uses it on anything could someone point me to any songs, i just love that sound!!.

What on earth is causing offence there? No black representation among the aliens?

Was it because Hudson made fun of Vasquez asking if anyone had ever mistaken her for a man?.....was Vasquez transgender i wonder? we'll never know after she bravely blew herself to smitherines in that air shaft in deep space many moons ago.
