He's one of the BIG 4 of the Dead Daisies now? Cool.
Nah, he quit because he had to write songs with them. Now he's collecting money playing Izzy's (and some of Buckethead's) stuff at packed stadiums.

Ha, that wasn't my point though. (I'm sure most of us were surprised by the drama free tour.) I said it baffled me people still think Adler could pull that off, and asked if he has ever been able to pull that off. Ludurigan talked about 1986-90, hence my comment.
I still stand by my original point. When literally everyone has said or implied Steven couldn't do it, except for Steven himself, it seems a bit optimistic of fans to assume that he can pull it off.
As a sidenote, something else that struck me in this interview that wasn't about GNR. The interviewer said how Scott Weiland was offered drugs on some party or event just two weeks before he died, while everyone knew he was trying to recover. So awful it makes me mad. How despicable can you be? It made me realize ex-junkies and recovering alcoholics must have an iron will and/or a really good entourage that prevents them from being lured back into that negative spiral again. It sure can't be easy for them out on tour.
I think it's easier for the people related to the band to say "he can't do it" than "that band don't want him here" or something like that. The thing is, even if he really isn't able to play 3 hour shows, the idea was to have him playing half of the shows, not the whole thing. Prior to the reunion he had said he would be fine with Matt being there playing his material and after the 2016 shows he said he was fine sharing duties with Frank as well. He could be playing 60-90 minutes while Frank plays the rest of the show.
I agree about the Scott thing. It must be really hard when you're in a small band, playing shitty clubs and hanging out with random people. To make it worse, Scott had a bunch of junkies in his band (the guitar player died the day their album was released and the bass player almost went to jail after Scott's death). Surrounding yourself with the right people must be crucial, especially when you don't have a massive organization behind you as it happens in GNR where these guys can be isolated from the outside world all they want.

You forgot
I wasn't aware of a two year long world tour of 3+ hours shows without any hiccups between 1986 and 1990.
How many two year long world tours of 3+ hours shows without any hiccups did Axl pull off between 1986 and 2015?
Yeah, that's what I thought...

No, look at that. You have the same one you have here while Duff has one from back in the day. So you did come from the future!

i dont ever seem to remember slash saying he prefers smaller venues. seems like fans like to beleive their favorite artist is a certain way when they arent. although i could be wrong and i missed where he ever said that. seems like if he prefers live shows over hitting the studio as per the quote above then hes right where he wants to be with gnr cuz thats all they ever fuckin do, is play live
I wouldn't like to believe anything in particular, it makes no difference to me what kind of venues he prefers, I'll go see him at a small theather or a stadium all the same. I'm talking about what HE said, he talked about how he prefers smaller, more "intimate" venues because there's a different connection with the crowd.
Here I found a quote regarding his preference: "As a touring entity, there's only a couple of bands that I would actually open for," he says. "Because at the level that we're at, I don't mind if we're playing [smaller venues]. Because my favorite places to play are theaters. We're at that level, so I'm cool."

- Going back to SMKC doesn't mean touring - just releasing a record.
That's how it's gonna be. Slash won't play his solo material to a few hundreds of people... That makes no sense. He's got GNR to support him financially.
No, you are missing the point. Your speculation goes completely against Slash's mindset.
"I love everything that is the live show. I like seeing the material realized. (Being in the studio) is really a means to an end, which is getting out there and playing a concert."
If there is a new SMKC album, Slash will play as many shows as his (and Myles') schedule allows him to. The one thing you got right is that he has GNR to support him financially, that means he can then go out with his band to have fun playing his songs in smaller venues which he enjoys more than stadiums anyway (except for the money he makes, of course).

Bullshit, I'd love to hear new SMKC. And I consider myself as a fan. SMKC feels much more real than GNR. You go to a show and they fucking hang out with you after, love them.
More importantly, they hang out with each other! I think Slash already spent more time with the Conspirators this week than he spent offstage with all the GNR guys (except for Duff, of course) in two years.
I'm a fan of SMKC as well. I would take GNR over SMKC if we were talking about the original GNR, the greatest band of all time, but without Steven and Izzy? With Frank Ferrer on drums? With two keyboard players? With Axl solo songs in the setlist? Bring back SMKC, please!

First time I saw this video it blew me away so hard! I find Halestorm songs to be pretty weak but Lzzy is definitely one of the greatest rock singers in the world these days.
I'd like to see Slash doing a song with her. He should totally do another solo record at some point.
Needless to say, SMKC's rhythm section did a killer job, the song sounds way closer to Appetite than the "current GNR" version. Brilliant performance overall!

I just looked it up. In october 2015 in this thread Slash2baz said writing was 90% done and they were up to go into the studio in spring 2016. I think they're ready for recording. Some changes can be made everytime.
I don't even care TBH. I just wanna hear new music. It's been a while now!
Edit: 9 out of 10 songs = 90%
October 2015 and a new album was pretty advanced, those were the days!
One thing is for sure, they must have enough ideas to record a triple album so it's just a matter of getting together and turning them into complete songs. Without GNR and Myles solo record in the middle, we would be getting SMKC III fairly soon.
I hope it will come out at some point next year, I need new music too!

Are you sure? If I'm not mistaken they were ready for going into the studio.
That's what I remember, but I can be wrong.
They were gonna hit the studio for pre production I think but I've been told they had 9 songs up to that point. I guess they were gonna keep writing in the studio, they've done that before. You're A Lie originally had Shadow's Life's riff but they kept chaging the song until the last minute.

No, I'm talking about the good Frank, Sidoris, being part of SMKC III.
I try to use these GNR breaks to forget about Frank Ferrer's existence but you're not helping.

New Years' Eve is not a possiblity because Todd will be playing with Axl's lapdog that day (unless he plays two shows in a row) but hopefully they'll be playing together soon. I'm optimistic about the possibility of all or some of them playing a few songs together at Todd's birthday show this sunday.
13 minutes ago, Free Bird said:They've already written the upcoming album. They're in the studio recording it.
Just Myles' not there because he's busy with AB and his solo album.
Regulary Slash writes on his own while touring and meets the guys after the tour for working the songs out.
I don't think so, the album wasn't ready prior to GNR reunion, they still have work to do. Hopefully they'll do it soon, I miss SMKC!

I see Brent, Todd and Sidoris on this pic but don't think this is a hint at any topical studio work.
Actually Sidoris is just part of the tour. Not of the recording sessions.
And the movie is much older.
I was told Frank is a full member of the band now, not just a touring member, and he will be part of the new album.
We'll see if that's actually the case whenever they decide to release the album.

I know a radio interview is not the same as IG. But if you are told to keep a secret, then keep it secret even on IG. Meegan could've said she didn't know. Or she could've ignored the question. Honestly I find all these secrets and mystery from all sides really stupid. But if they want to keep secrets. At least they should do it right
But both times @MillionsOfSpiders said "MAYBE Myles doesn't WANT to say anything", you're implying he's not allowed out of nowhere. They (or at least Meegan) were clearly not told to keep a secret. I mean, Meegan could make a mistake once but not a second time like a week or so after, that would be the epitome of stupidity. If Meegan is talking out loud about the SMKC thing is either because Slash doesn't care about it being public or because he actually wants the news to be out there without having to say it himself.
4 hours ago, Georgina Arriaga said:I think is odd that Myles gave those answers, as if SMKC is not in his plans at all....if all his mates like you said, made time in 2018 for SMKC apparently they forgot to tell him.....such functional band
Hmm, they toured the world six years in a row, released two albums, two live albums, never had any kind of trouble, were always honest and outspoken about their future (all of them, they didn't have to ask for permission to give interviews) and were about to release a third album until GNR came in the picture. If you think that's a dysfuncional band then I don't know what a functional band is to you and I better not ask you what you think about GNR...
Anyway, Myles never said there won't be SMKC in 2018. GNR finished their tour a few days ago and Alter Bridge is still on tour. Myles still has to plan his solo tour, see to what places he's gonna go and when so maybe it's too early to talk about next year. It's not really his fault that we're desperate to know what's gonna happen because everything is secret with GNR.
--------------------------------------------
On a more important note, Slash is playing a show with some brilliant musicians tonight. Here he's playing with Rob Halford, Nita Strauss, Richie Faulkner, Glenn Sobel and his old pal David Ellefson. Beyond cool!
And Alice!

How rude!
Probably. Myles pays as much attention to his social networks as Axl to his fans' demands
55 minutes ago, Zoot said:@BorderlineCrazy would know more about this than me, but does slash still record with all the other band members at the studio?
I remember him talking about Velvet Revolver and how recording styles aren't the same as they used to be. That now, everyone records separately and then sends their parts in. If that's the case, that could be why Myles is confused. Slash could be recording stuff for SMKC without him knowing about it 100%.
Apocalyptic Love was recorded by the entire band (Myles on rhythm guitar) together playing live and they added the vocals later. World On Fire was recorded in pieces, first Brent, then Todd, then Slash (lead and rhythm this time) and then Myles. Slash was hanging out in the studio all the time, checking what everyone was doing and jamming. I think you can find the documentaries of both albums on YouTube.
------------------------------------------
This whole "confusion" doesn't seem that strange to me but worries me about the possiblity of SMKC III not being released next year. Some people here have the absurd idea that Myles is always daydreaming about playing with Slash and is desperately waiting for his call but the reality is he has A LOT going on and doesn't need Slash at all. He loves playing with Slash and the Conspirators but he's always doing miracles to make his schedule work and he's been wanting to release a solo album (and tour with it) for YEARS. In fact Slash came to his life when he was considering releasing his first solo album and he ended up never releasing that one because he simply never had the time to do it in the end.
I was told a few months ago that SMKC had 9 songs they were working on when the GNR thing started. I believe Meegan 230% so the way I see it, Slash will be hitting the studio with Todd, Brent and Frankie (probably he already has) to keep working on songs BUT then Myles comes in the picture. He's probably unsure about whether he'll be able to write and record all his parts in a time that would allow SMKC to release the album and tour before Alter Bridge (and maybe GNR) get back together. I guess he doesn't want to get anybody's hopes up because he's not sure what will end up happening.
One last thing, let's not forget that GNR was supposed to play a few shows in April last year and then SMKC was hitting the studio in May but that didn't happen at all. I know Brent was unhappy/upset about SMKC being inactive for two years and that could be the case for the other guys too. They could all tell Slash "fuck off, we have other priorities now", they would have all the right in the world. That said, I believe Brent and Todd are looking forward to SMKC getting back together (as far as I know, Todd already has commitments for 2019 but was keeping 2018 free for SMKC) but even though I think Myles would also like to get together with them, right now it just seems to be bad timing for him and he will keep himself as the priority, not Slash, and rightfully so.
Funny thing is people criticize Slash for "only caring" about SMKC when it's been exactly the other way around the last two years. He fucked his well-functioning, productive, drama-free band. IF SMKC never find its groove again, it's all on Slash. He single-handedly screwed the band for money (replace "money" for "friendship" or whatever other romantic reason if it makes you feel better).
Still hoping Mr. Miraculous (as Slash calls him) will make it work somehow. I.NEED.NEW.MUSIC!
That doesn't involve that super useless Frank Ferrer dude.- 3

I've always felt something was going on around that time. Gilby was the opening act on that SMKC tour and Duff put Loaded back together to play one show in Argentina (which according to the promoter, he basically offered himself to play) on March 7, making it some sort of GNR festival. So turns out one or two days later, Axl called Slash, cool.
