For anyone interested, it appears, at least to me, that Axl did indeed confirm this in a roundabout way. On his cat Dexter's twitter account, there is a tweet where he prefaces an article with the words "allow me to read from a prepared statement".. the article then goes on to describe certain characteristics of one suffering from this disorder, and the way they view the world. Very, very interesting, and seems to provide some sound explanations for Axl's behaviour and perceptions. Incidentally, it was also on one of his cats accounts where he again, at least in my view, confirmed a chemical peel..alas, not as interesting .  Archer, your posts are always very insightful and respectful, I would love to hear your views on that article and the fact that he posted it.

It's called being passive-aggressive. Not saying that is what he is deliberately doing, as I don't follow him closely, and frankly don't care, but it could certainly be viewed  that way..the reunion happens, he's not part of it, so he's determined not to be lost in the ether, and calls attention to his presence and own music in another way. constantly. Everyone on both sides of this particular discussion has some valid points.

Haha, I'm going to go there too..you know why? Because, and I am sorry, but these lyrics are terrible.  I'm going get a lot of hate for this, I know..cause it's Izzy. Now I haven't heard the song, but this is so simplistic, that it literally could be the theme song for Sesame Street or something..so therefore,  I HOPE it's alluding to GnR members! Axl has a white wall around his house right? Ok so he's a definite barrier to Izzy..and why bring the imagery of a dog up twice in the same song?? So therefore yes, Slash and Duff are the other barking egos..but why are they only surrounded by a chain link fence? Are they more open to him? yet still unable to fully reach him...hmm..

Why was it cringeworthy? I don't get it..as @Powerage5 said, he pretty much had to thank them..he horned in on their band, he had to thank them for their eventual gracious acceptance of him..and he can't go all completely gushy with GnR bc there are still other people/history involved and he has to be careful..besides, he said "its been 23 years" at the troubadour show, so he saves that kind of stuff for real, in the moment, connections. He said there are new songs coming, Richard Fortus hinted there are new songs coming, heck Izzy said he is not involved in the "actual shows", but is obviously very active musically right now, so I wouldn't doubt he is going to be involved in some new GnR songs..it's all good people, don't worry, good things are coming! (imo).

Yes, but I don't think he thought Erin was as quite as "together" and classy as Stephanie..plus Beta said that Stephanie leaving Axl nearly destroyed him..so I don't know..I completely agree with you about Dylan though, I think he wanted to prove to himself that he was a better man than his father and stepfather, and when that chance was taken away, it gutted him.

Axl probably only wanted Seymour so desperately in the first place because dating a super model is the ultimate status symbol. The little guy who never got any girls in school now has one of the most desirable women on the planet by his side. And she used him too and left him for an even wealthier guy. They're both as terrible as each other.

I kind of agree with you that that may have been part of the reason he held on to her so tightly, but I think it was probably more along the lines of "holy shit this beautiful classy woman wants little ol me and I will never get someone as good as this in my life again" type of thing .. I don't think it was using her as a status symbol per se.. her, on the other hand, well..

I'm going to go ahead and do some more speculating here ..I can't help but read into the actual wording he used..he says not involved in the "actual shows"..why would he say actual? Wouldn't you just say "im not involved in the reunion; or, Im not involved in the shows"?  To me, Actual indicates a stipulation of some sorts...therefore, I think he must be writing music with them!

I am new to the forum but a longtime GNR fan (back in the day of Axl’s old teeth). I was at the 1991 New Year’s Eve show in Miami that Duff mentions in his book and I still have my ticket. It was weird and awesome to read about it when I was actually there. \m/

 

I’ll be seeing the show in Orlando where it will be so murderously hot there is zero chance that anyone (ummm looking at you Axl) will be wearing leather jackets or flannel layers. Anyway hoping for a some  ~fashion opinions. Generally I think it’s kinda lame to wear band shirts of the actual band when they are performing but this Slash one is pretty cool. Otherwise Misfit Marilyn? What do you guys think?

Well I am a recent convert to wearing band t-shirts, simply bc in Vegas everyone was wearing one and it felt really awesome to be part of something that big with all those likeminded people..however, that Misfit Marilyn is killer, and I think Axl would actually like that shirt himself!
