  1. Nirvana got and still gets way too much credit for their part in music history. Guns n' Roses paved the way from the pop 80's, so that Grundge can become popular. I hate Nirvana.

I agree, i dont hate nirvana tho. They had one or two interesting songs. A lot of average stuff. Notting to flame them over tho. I am however, very very anti Kirk Cocaine. From what I have read and heard he was an obnoxious ignorant prick who was only about self glorification, even on his death bed...

  2. What an amazing show, I was on ground floor about four rows from the stage, got pretty rowdy in the crowd I must say. All the material sounded great, and let me just say that all the new material sounded better live then I could have ever imagined, seriously you have to be their to experience it, it was so much more then just listening to demo’s or boots of live shows, when you’re their it’s a whole other story, and yes IRS sounded amazing.

BTW AxlisOld, would you be able to post up the pictures you took from the front, I would love to save them, to keep a memory of the show. I took a few pics with my cell but they turned out really crusty. Thanks in advance.

I kn ow what you mean. The Blues never ment that much to me, but when I saw it live it just seemed to make sense, I dont know how but it just did...

  3. he was in a band SWEET 75 on that album he plays almost everything and unlike the shitty foo fighters, sweet 75 are completely different from nirvana

And? I take it the album must be some bit good then? There are lots of artits that play almost everything on solo albums, that doesnt mean i call them genius. Eh anyways its just another opinion. Everyone has an opinion these days...

    genius

    How?...

come on be serious. musically he can do anything(apart from sing) and now hes even involved in politics

Sorry I never followed what he did after that Nirvana thing. I heard he went into politics but I thought he retired from music till this recent thing that he is in...

  5. I believe Chinese Democracy will be far superior to anything VR can put out

We have already heard at least half of the new album in the songs they have played live. Unless the other half we haven't heard are the far superior to what we have heard, Axl has wasted the past 10 years. People can have their opinions on how strong they feel the new material is vs. the VR stuff, but it is pretty safe to say that it is not 10 years better if what we have heard of the new GNR is their best stuff. Some (not all) of the new GNR stuff is really strong, but hardly going to set off a rock n' roll revolution. We had just better hope there are some serious gems in the vault if we ever actually hear another Axl album, otherwise he has done alot of damage to his legacy for really no reason.

Heres a wild one... Maybe he didnt want to record and tour?? Maybe he wanted a break. Its pretty safe to say that he didnt do much if anything during the 90's...

    Fuck Guns n Roses.

I thought you were banned?...

  6. I like how when the topic of promotion is discussed, there are so many people who make the argument that GN'R are "different" and they "do things their way," but when it comes to the release date everyone is so sure they'll just release it on the same weekday as everyone else. There isn't any reason why they can't release the album on a different weekday. There really isn't any logistical or technical reason why the album can't be released on the same day in all markets.

But that charactor said it would be out in europe on the monday and in USA on the tuesday, didn't he?...

  7. he is totally right about the 3 guitar players thing. It's a ridiculous idea, really.

There just playing whats on the albums. which all happen to have 3 guitarists. Yet I dont ever see anyone complain about that...

  8. Axl has fallen into the trap of surrounding himself with people who agree with whatever he says. This is terrible for his creativity and his career in general. Prince did the same thing after breaking up the Revolution and look at the crap he compiled in the 90's. Axl wants people around him to constantly remind him what a genius he is. True, I don't know the man or the situation first hand, but from what is seen publicly this is clearly the case. Del James, Baz, and Merck are fine examples. I can't say about the actual members of the band because they for some reason never speak in public. Axl needs someone, a true friend, to tell him when he fucks up. He needs someone to kick him in the balls and tell him to get his shit together to really help him out. Baz and Del James aren't helping Axl by constantly praising him in the media. Axl dissasociated himself with anyone with those kinds of balls years ago. Hence, Chinese Democracy-10+years in the making.

best post i've read in a long time, well done sonny!, it's so true.

The forum is full of know it alls.

    It's truly sad.

no matt it's full of opinions, thats why gnr don't like this place.

Look, dunk, when you say "it's so true", you're coming off like you know it all.

    Understand now?

Duff was afraid of Axl's shadow...........There was one guy that stood up to Axl.....His name is Slash...And see what happened to him..He was banished

No, shit for brains, he QUIT. He WALKED AWAY. He wanted nothing to do with GNR because Axl told him to take 5 O' Clock Somewhere and shove it up his ass. Hence Snakepit. Good for Axl too... Slash's idea of the next GNR album would have resulted in the next Motley Crue.

    Check your notes.

Yeah, the GNR albums released since Slash "walked away" have been brilliant. I don't understand why half the people on this board have such animosity toward one of the most important parts of their supposed favorite band. People treat Slash leaving as the greatest thing to ever happen to GNR. Look what has happened in the ten years since. Nearly nothing.

As opposed to everything that Slash has done? get it accross, it wasnt working anymore. Slash left, and he is not coming back. If he hadnt they would have been stuck in the 80's...

  9. From what I've gathered on this forum, it seems that Ireland, Germany, and some other parts of Europe will get it the Friday before everyone else. Then, on the Monday after England and the rest of Europe will get it, followed by the U.S. on the Tuesday. I'm not sure when new albums come out in Asia or Africa.

    Sweet justice... :)

  10. In fairness with all that Tommy has put up with and he has stuck with the band, he must be a good guy, well, maybe. The pressure was never on Duff like it is on Tommy everynight. Duff is one cool fucker tho, and so is Tommy. Sorry, I forgot whats the question...

  11. Once again, someone seems to know everything that has happened in the last 15 years. Please if you somehow know that these people are yes men other then your opinion, please do tell. If you have never met then, how do you know?...

  12. Plus this band has been together for so long now and gone through so much together, I see em lasting a bit longer. Remember after 2002 everyone thought it was all over? Here we are 4 years later still goin strong, with more dates planned for next year. If you ask me, the best thing for GNR would be to get outta the US and tour the rest of the world like Asia and South America. The US is too picky, and is causing problems. A break from that would probably be the best IMO... <_<

  13. Also, it not about hanging out with your high school friends, it's going to work and you don't have to like people to work with them.

fuck that. it's rock n roll. it's not about going in and punching your card.

Thanks be to god someone is making sense in this bloody tread... :book:

  14. I would pay to see them again, and this time I could bring more frineds cause last time round the leaving cert was on and everyone was afraid of missing a bit of an irish test, which they all regreted later while I rang them rocking out, suckers...

I would not pay to see the older line up for the simple fact, that happened and it was nice, now move on, different people and different times, m not a fan of slash anymore, but VR are fairly goof and contraband was solid...
