Yes. She is a crazy skank with the worst taste in men I have ever heard of but I don't think she was lying about anything. If she was lying she would have made herself look better. And there would have been lawsuits, i think.  I remember the ONTD post about the book- it was hilarious because no one could nail down the timeline. No one seemed to know about NuGuns so they couldn't figure out if Roxanna was 50 years old or if she was a groupie when she was 7.  She was real hard on Izzy but slept with Matt, Steven and lost her shit over Dizzy Reed. Dizzy Reed.  Just in case all the other stuff wasn't gross enough.

Yeah, I remember reading the screen shots of it a long time ago. I kind of got the impression that Izzy shut her down and that's why she went so hard on him in her book. There is just no way a chick like that would've turned him down or have not been interested. It was like a game to her to see which musicians she could get and Dizzy is definitely low man on the totem pole in that situation. I still think it's weird that Slash is following her on twitter and stuff. It's like dude... You all can do better than that. Aim higher. lol No offense to her but that girl is like the center for disease controls wet dream.

    Hadn't seen this one before..

https://youtu.be/OJBMBHPkxpE this will always be one of my favourite gnr interviews. If it wasn't izzy talking do nich od almost be like "shut up and let the others talk" but because izzy never talks it's hilarious. Too much hereoin fro him that day haha "show them your buns ax" ??

"We love giving!! ...and receiving" That interview and the interview where slash was trying to get the condom on a Heineken bottle will always be hilarious.

  3. My gut tells me that this will suck but the Alien franchise lover in me is really hoping for the best. The alien films are what started my career/interest in SFX makeup so I'm always going to have a soft spot for them regardless. I do wish Ridley had just dropped the Alien aspect to Prometheus and made the Prometheus sequel that we all know he really wants to make. I liked Prometheus as it's own stand alone story but the Xeno's just seemed out of place and ruined it for me. I love Ridley but I just don't think he has it in him to make another great Alien film at this point. Prometheus proved that. (in my opinion, anyway) I do really hope that Neill Blomkamp gets the green light for his sequel after covenant is released because he seems to really get what the Alien franchise was all about and I think has a good chance at bringing the franchise back to life.

I've been reading Watch you bleed by Stephen Davis and there's that interview from the early days with very pissed off Izzy that was hilarious (well, I guess not so much for the interviewer )

I feel so sorry for Slash for having to put up with Izzy's shitty  mood :rofl-lol:

And the reporter. They were all such jerks back then. lol Crazy how much they have all changed and mellowed out. Hell, Axl even smiles now and seems the happiest on stage.

  5. I'd say top 5 but lately it's been more like top 10. I'm not sure why... Maybe I've just listened to GNR to death at this point. I'm creepin up on 20 years as a fan so that's probably it. I still like them but I don't get as excited as I used to. If they release new material they will probably be back in my top 5... Aerosmith and Queen will always take the top spots though. :shrugs:

Yeah, only that I didn't even see any real trolling in the above-mentioned thread, just people saying they didn't like the cover and thought it was uninspired. If it's supposed to be a discussion thread, people are going to share negative opinions too (I myself think the song is boring and uninspired as well) and if it was only supposed to be a "let's gush over Izzy's new song thread" that probably should have been stated somewhere or the thread presented in such a way. Either way, I didn't see any real trolling, maybe it was bordering on trolling, but it certainly wasn't anything worse than what people say about Axl/Slash/Duff in basically every other thread. And yet, the Izzy hive-mind came down upon the  dissenting people and the thread dissolved into the same old boring drama again.

But it's pointless to argue about this, most of the people in this thread will always swing from Izzy's balls, just like the Axl nutswingers will always swing from Axl's and Slash's adoring fans will swing from his. It's just getting kind of old and I wish people would see things from more neutral and nuanced perspectives.

I wasn't trying to argue with you but you have to see if from my perspective too. Getting called an Izzy fanatic or being told you scare people is always going to be a shitty thing to hear. I for one never intended to do that. Izzy fans really don't have anywhere else to talk about his work except for this forum. And every time we try to talk about his music, the reunion or GNR crap gets brought up and used as an insult towards his solo work. It gets old very quickly. If you don't like the song then that's fine but hating the song because Izzy refused to do the reunion is just trolling in my opinion. I'm a bigger fan of Izzy's solo work than the other GNR members but that doesn't mean I don't see his faults or automatically like everything he puts out. :shrugs:

Anyway, like you said there is no point in arguing so once again sorry if my comments in this or previous threads offended you. That was not my intentions in any way shape or form.

Yeah... I love Izzy too! I mean, look at my profile pic and my sig!

But I can't solely blame Izzy fans either. Some people that have posted on Izzy threads have been a little out of order, which in turn makes Izzy fans defensive so when anyone else comes along with criticism they put them in the same box as the trolls. In general, the first people to post wank on a thread ruin the conversation for the rest of us.

Ah thanks for shedding some light on this for me. I didn't even read that thread when I saw it was started by the guy whose entire posting history seems to consist of cringeworthy, trying-too-hard sarcasm and over-simplifications.

I did read it now though, and I agree with you, the Izzy fanatics are scary. They're always quick to condem and point out any flaw in Slash/Axl/Duff (with or without proof and with a huge penchant for over-simplifying things to a ridiculous level), but as soon as anyone dares to say anything negative about Izzy, the same 6 or so people will come down on you. That's why I don't even bother commenting on Izzy threads anymore most of the time, despite the fact that I love the guy and am interested in what he's doing (though I haven't been impressed by his recent efforts). And since this is the ultimate Izzy thread full of terrifying Izzy fans I'm gonna shut up now, this is really not the place for this and I'm not in the mood to argue either.

Honestly, if you aren't trying to argue then why post these here? PM each other. Blanket statements are always going to start arguments. We have already said that we have no issue with Axl or Slash fans. It's the people trolling that gets old.

I think they were talking about what was going on in the thread for the cover song Izzy recently recorded.

    :shrugs:

...won't say what I think about it cuz frankly the Izzy fans here scare me and I'm just not in the mood for wank...

Most of us don't bite. :P I don't really care if people don't agree or don't like his stuff. Different strokes for different folks. It's the whole bashing him just because he didn't do the reunion tour that gets under my skin.

Call me the Breeze has really grown on me, I wasnt sure to begin with, the change in tempo from other versions I have listened too, kept  me waiting for Ricks guitar to kick in. Izzy's and Lauren's vocals are great I wonder if he was out of his comfort zone doing this, is it the first time his done a male/ female duet?

Hating myself for bring in a GnR comparison to his solo work, but why does the song remind me really badly of You ain't the first?

They both have that blue grass vibe I think. For me it reminds me of Polly Come Home.

I'm not sure why, though... lol Maybe because it's just that chilled out vibe with the male & female vocals that is making me compare the two. I think call me the breeze might be my favorite song he has put out this year. It's just so different from anything else that he has done.

im most dissapointed in duff to be honest

hes the one that shouldve made izzys involvement a priority

those 2 sound like they were still brothers pre NITL

Yeah, me too. I'm pretty sure it was Axl or Slash that f'ed it up for Izzy but who knows what went down. I just hope that Izzy and Duff are still friends. The way Duff talked about Izzy in his books sounded like he really cared about Izzy and for a stupid tour to mess that up would be pretty sad. :(

All I hope is Axl, Duff and Slash got some originality, inspiration and creativity from Santa last night. Let's see if in 2017 they can do at least one good song without Izzy's help.

Don't hold your breath on that one! :P

"Triggers" is a rubbish rehab word. Recovery is not about "every day is a struggle" "I need to watch my triggers". Relapse is always a possibility, but it is exactly that, a relapse back into active addiction. someone with long term sobriety doesn't just get triggered one day & use again, I watch it happen from time to time & it is more often than not a gradual move away from doing the things they need to do to stay well.

I hate the word triggers too because you have every emo turd on Instagram using it but really what else can you call it? lol I wasn't trying to say that it's a quick moment that sets them off and then boom they are relapsed. I meant whatever their issues are if they start having similar problems they can relapse. A lot of the people in this thread were acting like if you had a few years of sobriety under your belt it's no longer possible and that's just not the case for most people with addiction issues.

Am I that misinformed? To my knowledge Duff was clean in the VR days. Slash had a habbit of some medicaments that he purchased by recipe somehow but wasn't on booze or heavy drugs.

    I may be wrong

Both Slash & Duff mention falling off the wagon during the VR days in their books. Matt also had a rehab stint during VR. The only one in the band that remained sober in VR was Dave Kushner.

It's always a possibility that they can relapse again. Addicts are addicts for life. It doesn't matter if they're sober for 5, 10, or 20+ years there is always a chance of relapse. It all just depends on what their triggers are. Philip Seymour Hoffman is a perfect example of that. He was sober for 23 years before relapsing and ultimately losing his battle with his addictions.

I really hope that they can maintain their sobriety but who knows. :shrugs:
