The new terminator movie coming out later this year apparently uses cgi and archival footage to recreate John Connor from T2 for flashback scenes. I wonder if they’ll include GNR and YCBM references again in those sequences.
In T4, they had the Christian Bale version of Connor use an audio clip of YCBM to distract a Terminator while he hijacked a motorbike or something. Thought that was a nice nod as well.
"Moto terminator" lol
Yes, I am a Terminator super fan!

It's SO hard not to get excited with this recent news, but....
Being a GnR fan, we all know how far off the comments can be from the truth.
I do feel that this time is different. The band wasn't late for shows for example. That shows major change with all of them!

It's pretty amazing to me how forgiving he seems to be through the years. They screwed him back in the day on royalties and he agreed to do the 1993 shows to get $1 million of royalty money that already belonged to him. Good for the fans they got to see him and the other 3 guys together one last time, but Izzy was entitled to that money even if he refused to do the shows. He played nice in that situation. Think I would have gone the mean guy route and sued them for the money.
In this case, if they try to bring him back for songwriting and touring...I would demand the same "equal share moving forward" that he demanded in 2016, PLUS a good share of the profits they made from the 2016-2018 tour. That tour wouldn't even have existed without the great music Izzy helped write and create 30+ years ago.
From things I've read about Izzy, he seems like he doesn't need or want to deal with any BS stressful anxiety ridden crap. I think this may explain why he "played nice" and didn't stir the pot anymore than it had already been.
He honestly doesn't need the fame or money it seems. Why would he decide to put himself in a toxic situation if he didn't need to?
Also the stress and stuff would probably lead to heroin use again.....just saying

Just curios why everyone assumes Axl's new stuff to be Chinese related music?
If he is playing with his "old" band members, wouldn't he want to do music that relates to old GnR?
If Slash wasn't into creating Chinese type material back then, why would he want to now? Has he made anything similar to Chinese Democracy music?
Why couldn't the band be working on GnR type music, not Chinese Democracy music?
Just some thoughts I had and they could be wrong. I will take ANY style of new Guns music!!!

Slash’s story about him running around one of those golf resorts that Goldstein brought him to. He was tripping out so hard he had to escape out of his room because millions of weird little critters were chasing him. He ended up running around the golf course like a mad man avoiding the army of little shits of his imagination. So whacked out
YES! This ^^^^^^^^
In one of Mick Wall's books, like 1/4 of the book was about Axl's like in Lafayette. I think it was the W.A.R. book. That was awesome to learn!

Excited to give it a listen, Brando.
About time he decided to join you!!!!

Even though he sounds different, I actually like that his voice has changed a bit.
Not saying old axl voice isn't clearly the best, but I think it's pretty cool hearing an artist that doesn't always sound the same.
I mean, we have heard many different voices from Axl, and this is his newest. I really don't get why people bag on a superstars ability to sing...
Would people prefer to not hear any new Axl/GnR?

This is pretty cool hearing Axl on a "new song"
but it only makes me want to hear new GnR music even more!

This read really made me think about Chinese Democracy and its history.
Where it started and how it ended.
I'm sure its been said before, but imagine if the album came out in 99'
Mainstream and radio airplay would've been key to the album. I feel like some of the tracks would have received a lot of radio play.
Think about I.R.S. being played on the radio in 1999. I.R.S. was way ahead of its "time" as nothing on rock radio sounded like it.

It's sad, but nothing excites me at this point unless Axl manages to get a least some of his voice back. A new album might make him do that, but at this point I'm doubtful.
With the technology in recording software, it would be hard to make Axl sound bad!
Heck, I can't sing but I can make myself sound okay just by manipulating the vocals and doing some overdubbing

Axl alluded to new music...or something new last night.
"We had to get through this to get to what's next" or something like that.
My hopes for something new are slightly higher than before, but also very low because this is Gn'R. I think we're in a better position then we were a few years ago, however.
Where did he say this?
Sounds promising, hopefully it doesn't take a GnR minute to get there

WOW!
What a bad time to not be locked into the GnR world! I guess that is one downside of vacation! lol
Crazy if all this unreleased CD stuff is real, and if we all get it at some point???? woah
Is the general consensus that the hoarder is being honest? Or not?
Doesn't it suck that there are copyright laws and we can't all share unreleased music? lol

Because this is a thread about the TSI anniversary... And because a large portion of the fan base though CD and it's era was dog shit.. Nothing about Axl sifting through that stuff excites me.. Now if they handed the music that Slash, Izzy, Suff and Matt wrote prior to VR to Axl and let him have his way with that material it would be very exciting...
I think this is a cool thread for a cool and often forgotten about album. I know it has inspired me to dust it off and give it a complete listen from front to back.
Instead of creating a new thread, I thought I would ask if there had been one made 1st.
TSI is a decent album. A lot of people dislike the album for having all covers, or saying all the songs are s*it. I disagree.
There are some solid covers on the album. My personal favorite is "Attitude"

We are talking about old albums, which isn't a bad thing but...
Why aren't we talking about the Alan Niven inside info that was on Mitch Lafons podcast from a week or whatever ago?
Has there not been a thread made about what he said? "Axl in the studio sifting through old Chinese material for a new album"
-
Oh Axl apologists.....
If a song gets released on an official album and doesn't have the word "demo" in the title, then it is not a demo. It is a master and completed song.
If a different version would ever be released, it would be called a "re-release" or "remix"
A song in a major release film isn't going to include a "rough cut" of a song.....

Only in mygnrforum do people argue about if the lead singer of GnR was taking meds to make him gain wait, or not

I wonder if his attire and looks were him trying to keep a low profile?
He is dressed like someone you'd find waiting in line at the local check cashing loan place on the 1st of the month.

It is a white bandana with some small dots on the sides.
I don't think he would be running with a bandage in his head.
Again, I don't see any dots. I don't know if my pc monitor sucks or why they aren't showing up

The bandana in these pics looks different than the new pic, to me. Maybe its my pc, but the initial pic looks like a bandage not a rag. Again, could be wrong.

To be honest, some of them are intriguing and I could see Axl using them, even though they were labeled as fake by himself.
No Love Remains, Friend or Foe, Suckerpunched, Closing in on you are all good titles in my opinion. I mean except for some exceptions, they all sound better than say "If The World", "This I Love", "IRS" or even "Shackler's Revenge" (This one actually sounds like a working title, that stood a working title)...
Shackler's Revenge is a pretty sweet title. Although I expected more from the song. When I saw the released track list for the first time, the first thing that stood out was "Shackler's Revenge". I honestly was expecting it to be the best track on the album....until I heard it

Slash B*tched up

Its wild we all get excited to see a picture of someone from 20 years ago, just because that person wasn't "around".
On that note, maybe the bandage was from work he had gotten done recently? No idea though purely a guess

Michael Jackson actually admitted to "two" plastic surgeries.
I saw him say this in an interview.

Slash to record in Axl's Malibu studio on Saturday 04/27/2019
in GUNS N' ROSES - DISCUSSION & NEWS
Posted
We know the news is real (thanks to Russ’s strong gnr connections).
So here are some of the possibilities for what the new recordings can be:
1. Slash is doing overdubs for a NITL live album
2. Slash is re recording Chinese Leftovers
3. Axl and Slash are working on one new song for Terminator Dark Fate Soundtrack (favorite movie series and favorite band in one!)
4. Axl and Slash are recording brand new material that has not been worked on up to this point.
5. They are finishing up material from the 93-95 sessions. This is in relation to the recent “Storage Tapes” purchase.
6. It’s all bs and we won’t ever hear any new recordings from GnR
Have I missed anything?
Hopefully we get some more news on what’s going on, and we get it soon!!!
