On the positive front, the divorce experience could give Slash some good inspiration for new music with an angry edge to it.  Possibly just what a middle aged GNR needs to make something non-cheesy sounding in their 50's.  Especially if he vents about it to Axl and it causes Axl to channel his old relationship issues for lyrics.

Man, that is one heck of a rebirth! Taking it alllll the way back to the early 90s

  2. I wouldn't want my whole album to be heard before releasing it. That was a fun part about buying a new album, hearing songs by the band that you had never heard before.

Going to the record store, finding the album you wanted, ripping off the cellophane before getting into your car, popping the cd in, and hearing brand new jams that you have been so excited to hear! Ohhhh those were there days......

. So I just wonder if Slash really might have considered going with a more "industrial" sound for some songs possibly, if he and Axl could have put their difference aside....

I know we truly despise the scumbag Alfred, but didn't he mention something along those lines in his 1st AFD Show interview? Axl was leaning more AFD and Slash wanted to test the waters with a different sounds?

Who knows how reliable any of the info he said was, but I am sure at least a few things were true.

I guess do,at least is bit more stable job, Steven many shows had, sure Broadway depend the success can be at least few months of job.

Good point, steady work with a guaranteed income. Maybe he wanted to stay away from the headlines? Anytime Adler is mentioned, there is usually some talk about his band. They are touring right? So his name would be out there a good bit too.

I don't think it's supposed to be a promo poster. I think it's supposed to be a an internal communication so to speak.

It's one of those things we'll just never know on though (most likely). In the early days of the forums there were SO many fakes and SO many "insiders" that know one really knew what was real and what wasn't by the time the wrestler posted his video.

    Sounds about right

I've of two minds about this myself but it's been cool to read everyone's opinions on it.

Part of me says "It's Slash & Duff, there's no way they could ever be considered equal to Fortus, etc". However, everyone keeps using the term "force" when they say Slash can't get Axl to release new music.

So for me, that puts them back in the same category as everyone else who's come and gone.

I can't see Slash and Duff being Equal to anyone else in the band besides Axl. If that was the case, then Slash and Duff would have made Fourtus money on tour and not received 1/3 of the split. Didn't Axl want to release new music but the label wouldn't let him? It's not like the guy absolutely refused to put out new stuff.

I don't think they would have to force Axl to do anything. If there is chemistry within the band, then it will happen. I highly doubt Axl won't want to put out new music if the songs, band mates, and money is right. If they do release new stuff, I would bet that the money would be split just like concert money is split.

The origin is fascinating to me, as it was taken in Manchester with an iPhone 4, by an unknown. Though I believe MSL had posted it originally, he was not responsible for taking the photo.

It appeared around the time of the rumors of a CD re-release, with a companion remix and b-sides disc, as well as a purported self-titled album to be released Q4 of 2011. Everything was scrapped, and there has been much speculation about the label rejecting the package, band management changes, and the like.

    Yes, I remember the video.

    Whatever... enjoy your fan fiction.

Did this happen around the same time as when Axl got his email or whatever hacked? I remember seeing like 100 different emails about band members, hiring/firing people, CD 1, 2, 3, etc...Emailed about Slash and badmouthing just about everyone ever involved in GnR.

My first thought was "this picture is bullsh**!" as in fake. To me, it looks wayyyyy to generic to be an authentic CDII release poster or whatever. Maybe if it was the year 1995, but not in the later half of the 2000's. Regardless if it's real or fake, it's still fun talking about GnR lure!

Steven still follows Constantine on Facebook so I don't think things ended badly...I think that he just wanted to get back to his Broadway roots.

I wonder why Constantine committed to front a band to change his mind only a short time later???

Was he lost in life? Did he have some inside info on his new band that turned him off? Did he realize he doesn't want to live the rocker lifestyle?

The world may never know....Until Adler spills the beans

I remember the first time I heard this when I was a little kid. I finish Don't Cry Alt. and then suddenly this thing blares out of the speakers and I'm like wtf is this. I thought it was fascinating, especially considering it was a complete 180 to the rest of the album. It's mental.

I don't get why it gets so much hate, it's just Axl having fun in the studio. People take it way too seriously and therefore miss the point entirely.

Completely agree. It truly is different than anything else GnR at that time. I also do not understand all of the hate. Artists make changes to whatever it is that they do. That is what My World was a sample of. The band was experimenting with a different type of sound, and it sounded different than any other song they had made. Artistic progression usually results in better music over the course of time. There have been so many bands that have had continued success after making the transition to a different sound, and GnR would not have been an exception.

Its nonsense lyrics over a directionless and plodding beat with random screaming and sex noises mixed it. I don't see any value in the song.

Right, but I feel like that was done purposely. An outro isn't going to be like a full song with a course and stuff. I think it made people curious, people who may not have normally listened to GnR. If someone who wasn't much into hard rock but liked something that sounded futuristic at the time, it would have had them asking for more.

I would have liked to hear My World done as a full length song. I know it would have turned a lot of GnR fans off, but it would have brought new fans into the fold. Fans who were more alternative than classic rock fans.

I remember when the last singer was announced, I said they should have hired this guy instead. He's great :)

I feel like Adler was so excited for the guy who got fired. He was saying he's the "new Axl Rose" and now he is gone. I would love to know what all happened behind the scenes on this one.

The greatest tease from 2011, from a fellow in Manchester.

Every time I've posted it at other forums, it gets deleted... Maybe something to it, though the ship has sailed and we have all the remixes...

So what exactly are we supposed to see here? I am a bit lost...

I can't really decipher what this is without seeing the entire thing, and knowing where it came from. Help would be greatly appreciated.

CD although really GNR in dynamics doesn’t have the sound that Slash/Duff bring and that’s what sells. So recomp want them for the last release on their contract I guess. But re-releases might sell more so...

An album with Slash and Duff will outsell one without them every time. Casual fans see "Guns n Roses are back together" and they think all the players are back. Axl can sell on his name alone, but the name "Axl" can't and will never outsell a "reunited GnR"

Speaking of Axl and a solo record...It would have been soooo nice if he could've just used his own name to release records and we would have had plenty more music from him. There would not have been all these corporate types lying and deceiving, trying to get the old band back together which in turn delayed the CD release....Oh what could have been....

In my book, it is an extremely well designed album cover front and back when such things were quite rare. They have a very sharp attention to detail.

It is either a very, very well made fake (not sure those Geffen logos were public domain at the time) or a work-in-progress / placeholder cover and therefore legitimate.

If @Silent Jay has proof to share, I'm welcome to hear it.

Hey, Evader does one heck of a job recreating songs we have never heard! Not to say that this cover is fake, I really would like to believe it isn't but there is no way to know right now.
