I wouldn't line up to early. The pit has been generally small for this tour. It's not jam packed like a lot of bands. Even if you showed up 5 mins before they took the stage you'd still only be 4 people from the fronts
Thanks for the info! Are you local? My OH is keen to visit Niagara Falls in the morning before heading to the venue... is it feasible to get to the falls and back all in one morning?
-
Only around 48 hours to go!! Heading for the airport in the morning!
My OH and I are in pit right (not early entry)... obviously we want to get as close to barrier as possible. What time should we starting queuing?

Does it even count as a kilt when it's made out of leather?
Isn't that basically just a leather skirt then?
*clears throat as Celtic person* *though Irish, not Scottish*
I believe it can be described as a kilt if it has pleats and is wraparound style. However you're right that strictly speaking kilts have the tartan design and are made of wool.

Axl was experimenting with his looks...
I like the way he wore the kilt here (and in the early days) better than how he did in the UYI era.
Amazing. Really gives a feel for how they moved, looked and sounded in those days. Interesting Axl with ponytail look - he must have decided it wasn't for him and I agree, much sexier hair down. Thank you for posting.
"I have a couple of pictures saved on my computer of Axl's bare ass so I'm not disappointed." @purplestargirl That what I love about this thread, where else could you say this?!

I think it's the muse of Poetry... can't quite remember... I tried to change it recently actually but it doesn't seem to have worked.

Linda Perry and her band were the first non-GNR that I started to listen to when they went away. That album, her voice and her image made me rethink everything.
Out of likes!

Funny thing is, while Axl is attractive, he is not one of my celebrity crushes. Duff, on the otherhand, is. My brain is weird.
I find the exact opposite... Axl was and is out of this world sexy, while Duff is cute and gangly, yeah I'd sleep with him for sure but it would be no big deal while with Axl, if I met him I think I would be too dumbstruck to do anything.
13 hours ago, killuridols said:Yes, there was the singer from Def Leppard wore those underpants kind of thing with combat boots and white socks during the 1992 VMA's.
And Linda Perry wears combat boots, white socks and some sort of men boxer underpants in this video from 1994:
From 2000-2017? Don't you mean 2007?
No, there aren't. Please show them but I'm 99% sure there aren't.

Barefoot Axl?
Here's one!
We bow to your outstanding fund of knowledge in all things GNR. You are hereby granted the Women's Thread PhD in GunsNRosesness. (Or the money honey PhD anyway - recognised worldwide. )
Seriously, awesome references. I was a massive Def Leppard fan. But just look at poor Joe Elliott in this clip! He's like a really bad Axl tribute act. He has all the ingredients - boots, shorts, even a dressing gown for Gods sake - but he looks terrible and oh so un-sexy. (Sorry Joe, I did love you once.)
I LOVE that 4NonBlondes video. I hadn't seen it since it first came out. That woman sure does rock the boots and white socks look. Almost on a par with Axl.

Axl Rose Kilt appreciation post
Fuck me. That;s awesome, thanks for doing it!! He was beyond sexy with fringe + kilt in the UYI tour.
And we see the white socks in many of these pics too. They're just about OK on Axl, given that it's him, with Doc Martens. Any other way, white socks are a crime. Sorry @Frey.

There's discussion over on the thread for tonight's show (Arkansas) about how the band will do in a small, non-sold-out venue. Will be interesting how it goes in terms of our show.
Edit: looks like Arkansas was a blast and fairly full. I don't think we need worry for Buffalo.

The kilt can also be brought back. Now I'm wondering if he went commando when he did wear it.
I'm a big fan of the kilts Axl wore. The black leather kilt and fishnet belly top combination was genius. Who else could make it work??
Re commando... Jesus there goes a good night's sleep...

I can't see it either but it doesn't look like the work of mods... Check if it's removed from the source. I remember it was some imgur thing and it had to load.
It's still at the source:

My tank top image has disappeared!! Is it possible that mods deleted it?!

My mind has been exploding today over St Louis. The litho with the reference to Axl's words before he dived from the stage, happy smiley Axl, the show going off without incident and apparently with a brilliant atmosphere, and last but not least the "partner in crime" thing!! Reminds me of his intro to Slash at Slane when he said "your friend and mine" which blew my mind too.
Slight niggle about "partner in crime" though... cute as it is, it struck me that Axl seemed to be kinda attributing some of the blame for the riot to Slash, who had no part in it?? Slash was effectively a bystander, watching from behind his guitar as the whole clusterfuck unfolded. Wonder if Slash has thoughts on this??

Wow awesome! Thanks for describing that moment.
Thanks to the attendees who wrote descriptions and reviews here, I've just caught up and it sounds mind-blowing!!

I remember Axl saying, after Erin had the miscarriage, that they wanted to try it again, that's why they were moving to the new house.
I never heard that. If it's true it's so fucking sad that it never happened. Even if he an Erin had still subsequently broken up, having a child in his life would have made all the difference to him, IMO.
11 minutes ago, Frey said:Just because we haven't heard about any accidental babies, doesn't mean he has trouble creating any.
Duff, Izzy and Slash somehow managed to not have any unplanned children either. And yet Duff and Slash at least were perfectly capable of procreating when they wanted to.
Do we seriously believe that none of the AFD5 ever got anyone pregnant in the early days??? After reading Duff's book 'It's so easy', where he states that he never used any contraception in those days - and we can safely assume that the other guys behaved the same - it's statistically very likely that there were quite a few pregnancies. We've just never heard about them because, in my opinion, the women in question would have been paid off to keep quiet about it once the band got successful. In other words, in a situation where there's as much sex as there was in the very early days, the days of the Gardner St studio, and Hell House, there HAS TO have been pregnancies.
Another clue for me is also in Duff's book: he states that when Susan got pregnant with their first child, he had never experienced pregnancy in a way that was welcome before (or words to that effect; I'm paraphrasing as I don't have the book to hand right now). That to me suggests that he had experienced pregnancy in an *unwelcome* way before.

JFC. To be unkind about it, a professional slut. What a career.

Isn't this the dog that Duff had before he even met Susan, the one who was so loyal to him? Poor guy.

These words, I agree 100% with this especially because I always see people wanting to fill the void with a kid, sometimes it gives me the impression that some people think of a child as a puppy or something that ain't a big deal.
A kid is a lifetime compromise.
But returning to Axl, idk, he may not be a role model and he may have issues, but lets be honest, most of parents aren't super qualified to be parents...
The guy has money, lots of servants (TB) can I call them that? ( not very professional in my eyes) and he doesn't look to crazy to me nowadays, I can't say much about him because I don't know him, but for what I have read in here he has his moments, but I wouldn't say he isn't apt to have a son/daughter.
So I would say it is his decision and his right for that matter. I mean MJ had kids and they look pretty normal to me... idk that's my opinion
I hope he reproduce soon even if it is with Sasha (at this rate it doesn't matter).
it is either that or what Frey said..
If it's what he wants, I hope he can achieve the circumstances to have children too.

That is an appalling prospect, mostly because it's not unlikely. If he stays single and childless, I hope he leaves all his money to animals' charities.
17 hours ago, MillionsOfSpiders said:He did say a long time ago that he didn't want any children as long as he felt there may be any danger he could do to them what was done to him. Don't remember the exact words, but that was what he meant.
Thats sensible I think.

I think so too. Nobody needs to be perfect to be a parent. He would certainly have the financial side sorted. With the benefit of years now, he'd be as good a father as anyone.

12 hours now that's long! Yes originally I was gonna wear my Michael Kor wedges (I've worn them to the other GNR shows) but I think I'm opting for either flats or runners.
Honestly, I think this message board and other FB groups are negative overall. I'm a positive person who had a blast at the shows and am going to 6 this year!!
P.S. Hubby's family from Ireland the castle must've been a mythical backdrop!! ????
Woah, 6?? Where?

Also, your username gets "Welcome To The Jungle" stuck in my head everytime I see it.

WTTJ being stuck in your head is no bad thing though!?! I adore the way Axl spits out "money honey" in that line.
