  1. Thanks everyone who was at the gig for the pics etc. it looks like an awesome show.

if people are saying attendance was around 25k, I’m wondering does the band still make a profit on that? I’m gurssing they must or they wouldn’t have done it... but with like 100k+ in places like Downliad UK and Slane - profit must be much less for Iceland... thoughts??

    Don't say that...

According to an article in an Iceland paper...Axl gave an interview....they will publish tomorrow....I hope he say something interesting

Oooh! Axl gave an interview?! That will be his first in ages. Please keep us updated!

Sweetie, they are not stopping as long as money is flowing. Don’t be afraid. You gonna see those three Stooges soon enough. :hug:

I hope you're right, thanks.  The money certainly is flowing for them :) I'm amazed they would want to keep at it, can they be that keen for money when they are already multi-millionaires?? I would want to retire if I were them!!

I know how you feel :( You will see them again. A friend of mine spoke with Beta in Norway, she said that they will be back next year

Thanks for the reassurance :hug:I'm reading conflicting messages about next year versus 2020.

I wonder what he means with „That was the moment I gave away my heart“... like he didn’t love his son before? I don’t know this expression...

Completely adorable. Lovely for a father to say I love you to his son openly. I'm also confused by "gave away my heart" - usually it would mean fall in love but here??

  3. Did anyone else notice that McBob’s intro to the band didn’t mention Gothenburg? And when Axl first sang “You know where you are? You’re in the jungle” he didn’t add on the city name, just the usual “baby”? (Though the second time, he did say the city name.) Gave me the impression they’d forgotten the city name for a bit!!

We are on our way to Sticky fingers, wearing a red GN'R top, long blonde hair and definitely not tall :shrugs: My boyfriend has long hair. Hope to see you there :D

I’m here with my other half, already two beers in :wow::lol:... short dark hair, gnr top and tall ... sounds like we’re opposites

Thanks for the updates! I’m in Gothenburg now too. Having a wander around. I don’t think the band would be here yet.

This is what I was trying to say before.......... Some people assume that there's only Americans in this forum or only people who come from a certain social/economic status, certain education, etc........... We have lots of people here from all places, all ages, different languages and backgrounds. It is important to know that when we talk (or post) we have this big audience that is the entire world, not just a few from the rich countries.

Assuming shit about others it is easy because we are behind monitors and keyboards, but maybe we should exercise more the thought of imagining an actual person behind the words, someone with a life history and all that it entails. Some people are more or less politically involved, but we are all crossed by our contemporary history and the past history of our ancestors. We are all the results of our environment and societies.

Even if this a GN'R forum and this is a GN'R thread, there is no chance that we will go through it without clashing with each other, for whatever reasons. Guns N' Roses are a band of people, as well, and they send a message with their music. We come together here because of them and maybe they will be the only thing all of us here have in common, because our differences become obvious.

Therefore, if we want to keep this thread open some things have to be adjusted and called out, if they are not okay or out of place. It is not overreacting, it is saying, "hey, I am a person and I am reading you, hello???". Everybody wake up in front of your monitors!

And I like how you @Rocketqueen76 have found the freedom here to remind us who you are, just in case we forget, because these monitors and these keyboards gives us a feeling of entitlement but that is not right. Personally, I think you should not be constantly reminding us of your race, because for me it is not necessary, I respect you. But I see how that's a good defense that maybe you learned in the past and see? You are allowed to do it and no one should say one fucking thing about that, or hurt you because of that, and if someone does, I will stand up for you and tell them to fuck off.

So I think the same goes for jewish people, latinamericans, women, babies, muslims, etc...... We must start assuming that there are others here who read us and might get hurt from what we say about their nationalities, race, religion, sexuality.... and no, its not political correctness... IT'S EMPATHY!!

I applaud @Tori72 for standing up for her beliefs, for being true to her promise to her teenage self, because that's the only way to be: to be true to yourself, even when others tell you that you overreact, that you have to move on, that you have to ignore. NO. Just do what your heart tells you to do, especially if it is to defend those who do not have a voice anymore or are silenced by the powers that be!

    So well said.

  9. Our friend Google Translate to the rescue ...

Guns' Roses comes to town but why wait for the party to Friday when Sticky Fingers invites you to rock party the day before?

On stage we have, among other things, Tyler Bryant & The Showdown (US), as you will also see Ullevi before Guns and The Royal Beggars.

In addition, there is a lot of rock classics from the speakers throughout the evening, both on the outdoor seating and on the dance floor.

So why not start the weekend already on Friday so you're warmly warmed up to Saturday's arena party!

We start with a Special Guns'n Roses Quiz for early guests

    Live on stage
    TYLER BRYANT & THE SHOWDOWN
After carving out a fervent fan base and drawing widespread critical applause with their heady, high-voltage brand or guitar-driven rock, shooting from both hip and heart, Nashville's Tyler Bryant & The Shakedown find themselves at the epicenter of an advanced rock 'roll adventure that continues to take them around the world, appearing at some of the biggest venues along the way ...
    www.facebook.com/TylerBryantAndTheShakedown/

    THE ROYAL BEGGARS
On the 20th of July, the newly-launched rock'n'roll band "The Royal Beggars" will feature the Sticky Fingers for its premiere.
With influences like Stones, Slade and Dogs D'amour, they will invite songs from their upcoming album during the evening.

Hi  Do you want a review of the Madrid show? It's not very well written but here you go :shrugs:

For some kind of a miracle I end up front-row again :P Don't even know how that happen, really. There was golden circle in the festival (stupidest thing ever!) but I found out, while I was queuing, that it was just in front of the stage, the sides were GA :o But, as I didn't know this earlier, I went on the line at 9am with a spanish guy that I had met in the Lisbon show last year, cause we wanted good places. Guess it worked haha

It was so, so hot that my body decided to rebel against me  I started feeling sick and dizzy at the line and it only got worse when I arrived at the fences, after running. I started getting really dizzy and with blurred vision but I just thought about the money I had spend in that show and trip and I pulled my shit together and I didn't leave my place, even if I felt I was dying :P Things started getting better as the sun was setting down and water was thrown on me. Worst experience of my life.

But the show. Best experience of my life probably :P There's not much I can tell you about the show that you don't know already - it was awesome. They do put on a great show. I was so happy they did Don't Cry and Slither  Axl didn't talk to the crowd that much and I think the show suffered from it. The first time he talked to the crowd was on Civil War and to say something about Trump. But he looked happy. He was all the time sharing jokes with at least Frank and Melissa. Melissa cracked up during ISE, she had to stop playing whatever she was playing on it because of what Axl told her :shrugs:

The voice was ok, I guess. The crowd was so loud and he was so low on the mix on some songs that I barely could hear him. Jungle was a highlight. Crowd went crazy and his voice sounded good enough to me. And you know all that energy he has, running around, dancing, jumping, waving, smiling... He is a great frontman, nobody can take that away from him. It's amazing to see that live

I don't know what happened but he did some songs without the plaid shirt around his waist :o I was so close of the ass and, dear god, what a great and round ass  He was also wearing lots of foundation. Orange foundation. With so much money and employees, nobody can find his color at least??? I kept thinking about that on the show  Still on his physics. He is losing a lot of hair. There was hair all the time on the back of his shirts and on his trousers. He needs to see that with a doctor :nervous:And...He doesn't look fat at all. He has a belly, but if you saw him on the streets you wouldn't describe him as a fat guy. I don't know, I think he looks fatter on cameras. Cameras hate him as much as he hates them, probably

Let's go to Duff now. And I mean DUFF :wub: It happened last year and it happened this year. During the show I fell in love with him. He has such a great presence on stage, always locking eyes with the crowd, talking to the crowd. I was really close and I could hear what he was saying. Everytime he come in front of me he screamed 'C'mon fuckers' or 'Go' and as we screamed his name he answered 'what??' while kept playing like a maniac and smiled to the crowd. He is amazing and I want to marry him

And now that love of my life, that god whom I love deeply and was so close to me  He looked so happy, I've never seen him like this. He usually doesn't show any emotions on stage, he ignores Axl and all, as you know :P  But on friday he was always, always smiling  He interacted with the crowd a lot, asking for screams and clapping. He even interacted with Axl :P There was a moment there where my heart melted. Well two. First was while Axl was singing TIL. Slash was near the drumkit and not playing anything. Axl happens to hold a note and Slash turns to the crowd and ask us, with his hands in the air, to cheer for Axl. It was so cute omg  And the second was when they were taking an unconscious girl on a litter in the space there is between the stage and the fences (this happened with almost 20 people during the show, the heat was unbearable) and he noticed it. He looked really worried and, from that moment, security started asking if we wanted water and giving us bottles they took from under the stage. I think Slash might have said something  And I really, really think he smiled to me. It could be me or the thousands of people that were on the crowd, really... but he was playing some outro right in front of me and I was the only one singing the guitar lines, he nodded in my direction, laughed and threw a pick. A guy next to me grabbed it, but everyone around me said he threw it for me. Just that thought makes me happy even if it didn't happen, which is more likely :D

And that's it folks, I think I'm not forgetting anything :P I loved this show and this crowd so much, the videos on youtube show how awesome the crowd was. To buy a ticket for it was one of the best decisions of my life and all the three days rocking and traveling alone only helped to make this an even more epic weekend.

P.S 1. : I think Axl introduced his guitar player as 'the really pretty Slash'. I have a vid of it, and I can't hear that well, but it really sounds like it. Probably just wishful thinking, you know :P

P.S. 2: Lortus doesn't only imitates Izzy with the rojo pantalones. He also imitates him with the Izzyconda :smiley-confused2:  And that's all I'm gonna say about it :rofl-lol: Also his Nightrain solo was awful, I felt the urge to kill him on the spot :anger:

P.S 3. : I met my boy Andrei. He passed right by me and I said 'Hi Andrei'. He smiled and high-fived me. Not even a word, after all the love I have to give to him...Asshole

    Gracias, good night :P

Fabulous review!!! I feel like I was right there with you! Thanks for the little details about interaction between band members, they made my heart glow!

The heat sounds incredible, you saw 20 ppl carried away on stretchers?? Omg.

    EDIT because I’m blind. :shrugs:

EDIT AGAIN because I can as well fill this thing with content.

So, I’ve got this Spotify List from AfD Remastered:

    https://open.spotify.com/album/3edmYBHOTxfz8NxJE1QmTP?si=kPkyKDMfTbaI_0oM_ugCcA

Is this the same music that other people went buying for hundreds of dollars? WHY?!

I don’t get it. So in fact the music is free but tattoos that wash off and fake silver rings are worth 999 Dollars? AH - not to forget the wooden box and faut leather!

WHAT am I not getting here? Please explain! :wow:

Don't know about others, I can tell you my perspective. When AFD first came out I was a penniless kid. I got a copied cassette from my friend and that was the only way I could get the music. Now that I'm older and have more money, when the band issues *anything* I'll consider buying it. Buying something that comes from from the band, no matter how small, gives me a feeling of being connected to the band and of following the band, albeit in a tenuous way. I realise that I'm the fool in this transaction  but I'm OK with that as I love the band so much.

Of course I would much rather give them my money for new music than anything else. But I'll settle for what they're giving now.

    Aren't you bored? :P

I don't know how it is for the rest of you but I've been listening to GN'R since I was 13 years old and now Im a granny  so..... now Im fed up.

Sometimes I go back to it and listen again.... then I avoid them like the plague.

Recently I purchased the SOYL single but I have heard it like only 6 times so far :shrugs:

I listen to Guns music every day, usually all by myself in the car! I enjoy it every time. It just means so much to me. I hope I can't see myself getting bored with it any time soon.
