Ice Cube - AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted
-
1. Iron Maiden - A Matter Of Life And Death
I felt like so much could have gone wrong with this album, and as soon as I saw a Harris writing credit on every song I thought it'd be a very similar sounding album all the way through. Needless to say I was wrong, and it's easily the best album of the year in my opinion
2. Ice Cube - Laugh Now, Cry Later
What can I say? As usual, the man strikes gold
3. Queensryche - Operation: Mindcrime 2
The follow up to one of the greatest concept albums of all time? This was another album that could have gone extremely wrong, especially with all the subpar content Queensryche have delivered since the first Mindcrime album and the lack of DeGarmo. Yet it still turned out to be the greatest album they've done since Mindcrime. I was especially happy to find out Tate still has a fantastic set of pipes of him

Saw him at Monsters of Rock this year and he put on a wicked show. Absolutely crazy son of a bitch, but a great showman without a doubt

To be fair the guy was 45 years old when that video was shot, and for that age he still has a great set of pipes on him.
That video is even more recent and he sounds great on it. Rumour had it at one point that the Death on the Road gig was Bruce recovering from laryngitis, and that because Steve picks the performances he picked his best one.
This is from in his prime. Damn near untouchable
I have to agree. The second one from 1982 is really almost untouchable. If you compare it to the first one, you have to agree, that the 2005 version is nowhere compared to this.
I agree with you there mate, he's not as good as he was, but for a man of his age he still sounds really brilliant. That was a great tour for him

go watch the maiden live after death dvd
that dvd owns everyone
I've seen this DVD and I don't agree with you. His voice isn't really good on it.
When I heard it, the high notes almost hurt my ears . At 2 about wo minutes the thing I mean starts. Bruce is an awesome singer in the studio, and as I said in my post before, they are one of myfavourite bands, but what I have heard from him live isn't that good. But well, maybe in 2 weeks I will have another opinion.
I can't disagree with you more! Bruce is one of the most decent singers live!
And live after death is brilliant!
I really think you'll change your mind after the live!
Oh...I realised now, I wasn't talking about this DVD
I meant the Deathh on the road DVD and listen to this Hallowed Be Thy Name:

I loved his version of Cissy Strut. And any band with Pino Palladino in earns a lot of respect from me

I'd like to see a sign of Usernames signature. It'd have to be a big fecking sign though

I completely agree Powerage. I can understand the Iron Maiden fans annoyance at GN'R because of the lack of Donington 88 release, but I still find it difficult to comprehend some ofthe hatred for GN'R that Maiden fans sometimes have.
I also find it ridiculous when people quote that Axl interview where he talks a load of bollocks and calls Maiden political. Maybe they should actually try listening to the band before they just repeat what Axl wrongly said
I purchased The Essential Iron Maiden and didn't like a single song on it. They're not my cup of tea. It's loud, immature and silly IMOI can't see how you could view Iron Maiden as immature and silly when GN'R were extremely childish and immature themselves. Songs about drinking (Nightrain), sex (Anything Goes) and putting a woman orgasming into one of their songs (Rocket Queen). To me that is a hell of a lot more immature than anything Iron Maiden did.
And of course it's loud. It's metal.

Iron Maiden definetely deserve to be number one on that list. They've done more for heavy metal than anyone except Black Sabbath.
The lack of Van Halen and The Crue is a bit worrying though

I have no natural gift for music at all mate, but I just found that by *always* playing with a metronome I've managed to develop a pretty good sense of rhythm.
Now I just need to work on my musical ear. Can't even tell when I'm out of tune
